About 2 months ago I bought a new Snap-on KRL1023 Tool box. I shot a video of the box before I put any tools in it. Many of you asked for a new tool box tour to see how I set things up. Here's that video.
Know that I've already changed a few things and probably will for some time to come as I figure out the new workflow.
Here's the original tool box tour I put out for Premium Members of my website: www.ericthecarguy.com/exclusi...
Intro music by Eric Cook "ETCG1 Intro".

Hope your tools are insured. My dad's shop was robbed back in the 80s (yeah a long time ago) and they took most of his tools. He didn't have insurance and it basically bankrupted us and his business never recovered.

I knew ETCG1 would love his new box as much as I love mine. Yes, more storage area, faster ease of finding the right tool, does make you more efficient. It also makes you want to take that extra time to put everything away, and that really reduces lost tools. I have a few less drawers, because I have 4 deeper ones. I also have a side locker, which holds quite a lot of other things I don't need to keep open on a shelf.

Powerbelt , whatever that is ... obviously tried making their ratchet look like a snap on. They look alike but that doesn't mean they perform the same. Snap on ratchets haven't changed their look for sometime. Sweet box man!

Eric, let me 1st start with saying that I have watched several of your videos & enjoyed all that I have seen so far. Congratulatesions on your new box. Some people think that all toolboxes are created equal but, as some of us know, they aren't. I bought a Snap-on 84" Epiq about 4.5yr ago & it's the best box I have owned. I finely made my 1st inventory video 4 months ago here on KZfaq. I read some of the comments & I think that most of the people that try to say that HF toolboxes are just as good as say a Snap-on toolbox are just to cheap to buy 1 or are jealous that they can't buy 1. I get all different comments on my box. Most are good but there's always a few haters. Thanks for sharing your toolbox inventory with us. Gregg (Critter) Muse

I have never ever in my life seen a professional who did not put all of his sockets in the top drawer of his toolbox or at least in the top of his service cart. How unusual... Eric, I'm going to make an executive decision right here and right now and say: I like it!! It wouldn't work for me because I would always be opening the wrong drawer but, I like your set-up. You know what to do about the wrench drawer, right? The Snap-On Junkie channel has the best solution of all time

That is wonderful. Don't regret any amount of money spent there. Also, for regular, home DIY guys like me, working on a car at home is getting exceedingly expensive. It's only getting harder unless you slowly upgrade.

I counted 70 ratchets in my box the other day and all are newer truck and industrial brands I got way more than that in just extensions lol . I've noticed that most mechanics really don't have many ratchets in thier boxes maybe a couple of each drive size and are usually just minimalist. I'm not a professional mechanic I consider myself a collector but I was an engine guy at a junk yard and pulled every other part from anything you can think off as well as many auto repairs. I like to have a variety of brands even in the same style ratchets but all a variety of different style ratchets for different applications it's nice to be able to try out all the truck brand ratchets and other tools and compare them all. I've learned snap on is not the greatest really I think the other truck tools at least the hard lines are pretty much equal and as for preference I ratchet I prefer them Mac axis 90t or Cornwell 72t over snap on the Macs look the best the Cornwells seem the heaviest and have very strong 1/4 and 3/8 with the biggest paws and gears which equal to more contact area and strength but like snap on for 1/2 but have not tried Mac in 1/2 yet.

I use Mechanical Fingers to get dropped stuff. Somehow I think they work better than those giant tweezers (mantis) would. Similar to using a magnet, but it has claws that are operated by a plunger, can grip onto bolts/screws that have gotten hung up when they fell and yank them out.

Yes its true, my favorites are molegrips or visegrips, and channel locks/plumbers plyers, good for gripping damaged nuts or removing studs. Welders love the molegrips for holding metal in place while welding.

I got one of those hammer head angle impacts years ago and was sorely disappointed. Every time I found something that it would be awesome for.....womp womp not enough power. I was considering the IR cordless tools, but the batteries on those are crazy expensive! In my opinion the Milwaukee cordless impact are about the same when it comes to performance, batteries are cheaper and on top of that the warranty on those things are amazing.

Awesome set up. At first when you opened the big drawer and I didn't see sockets I was like wtf. But after seeing your sockets you really don't have enough to fill that drawer. In my snap on box that drawer is packed with sockets plus I have like 2 other small drawers with specialty bits/sockets. I was wondering about that leverage wrench, so you don't have to double wrench, have been trying to find one, nobody seems to know what I'm talking about. I looked on that JBTools website you linked, didn't see it there, although I could have missed it. I was wondering what brand it was, maybe a part number? Thanks.
