My biggest concern from this is the writing/scenario design. - Go retrieve a tooth from a nearby dead creature that the quest giver can't do himself for some reason. - Uh-oh, other people want that tooth too, implying the tooth is rather valuable. - Find exactly one tooth, implying the creature has only one tooth, or the rest of the valuable teeth were taken already by others who were kind enough to leave one for you. - The other people who want the tooth don't go retrieve it, but wait outside a convenient exit very close to the tooth, because they magically know you went in to get one, found it, and will exit from here instead of going back the way you came. - They immediatly ambush you with a bomb which could have damaged/destroyed the tooth if the bomb fulfilled its intended purpose of killing you. None of this make any sense.

@@derrickcrowe3888 You're making the assumption that all of the sarlaac teeth are intact when it dies. If it's a truly rare event to find one, it could be something unique as the tooth never emerged from its "gum tissue" (or sarlaac equivalent), and therefore has some biological sealant like pearl that wears off from normal usage. Because, as we all know, sarlaacs NEVER brush their teeth.

So it's presumably a pretty safe bet that sarlaac typically die with teeth intact, in which case my points stand. That, or the characters magically have knowledge that a "truly rare" event has occurred in a place none of them have been to or could know about, which is not any better.

But the game tells you you should, and you do, so the should vs. will distinction is irrelevant here. But what even is your point anymore? That a possible head canon might exist that could explain away _one_ of the points of nonsense in this scenario? It's not the players' job to create increasingly implausible explanations to try to justify the professional writers' choices.

Which is funny, because Ubisoft has experience with unguided quests. Breakpoint had the option to turn off direct waypoints, forcing you to read clues to find your way. Quite immersive. Wish they did that here.

The combat, the AI, the effects (even all combat-related effects) and the character itself don't look particularly good. For me it's a pass. Star Wars is certainly an interesting IP - but the combat just looks way too boring to me. But I'm also not in need for a new game right now. Stellar Blade, FF14, FF7 Rebirth, FF:EC, Overwatch and FF16 will easily keep me busy for the rest of the year.

About your question about the console build - DF said that Ubisoft told them that they used PC version running at console settings when showing the previous demo. I feel like if I didn't know what a sarlacc was and agreed to get it's tooth, I'd have some sort of a reaction to seeing one for the first time and needing to go inside it. But maybe that's just me. I know this is suppose to be all about the gameplay, but the voice acting of the main character is flat. She doesn't react to situations like you'd think a person would. But we'll see how things turn out for this game because the gameplay doesn't look too bad. Fingers crossed.

Main characters tend to sound a bit flat when they're the protagonist and you're making decisions for them. It's hard to juggle giving players choices and having their personality direct the protagonist, the actor or actress can't react too strongly or they're more likely to overboard when reacting the way you want them to... it's why some people just prefer to not have a voiced character. I'm kind of torn, because sometimes I really enjoy playing RPGs with voiced characters but I haven't been a fan of who they choose for CDPR games, neither Geralt nor the either voice for CP77. I've enjoyed every Bioware option other than the female option people generally don't use in DAI, the one female 2nd option that sounds super flat and some say is meant to be a good option for Qunari who aren't meant to express much emotion.

And pay attention how they are Marketing the game on Tatooine but not the Sequel Planets that they said are in the game like Canto Byte or Kijimi because they know nobody wants things from the Sequels.

Till last week I haven't watched any Star Wars movie. 26 now. Only played Jedi: Fallen Order in 2019 and it blew me away! Since then I haven't touched the franchise ever again. This game had me hyped so badly so last week I finally started my journey into a galaxy far far away by wachting the original trilogy.

Is it just me, or it could be the video, but did the game look horrendously upscaled? For some reason the clips of the game made it look like it was running at 720p. Not the video itself being low quality, but the game has a specific look that reminds me of a PS3 resolution. To clarify I'm not saying that graphically it looks like a PS3 game, I'm saying the resolution of the game looks like it's running way low in this IGN video. I just want to know if anyone else feels that way, or if it's just a me thing.

Been a fan of Star Wars since the OT was in theaters. Owned all the toys as a kid. Saw all the Prequels in the theater. Watched pretty much every movie and show ever (aside from the Ewok tv shows). Watched the Sequels and all the new D+ shows...and you know what, I like pretty much all of it . I''ll admit that some of it took way longer to appreciate, like the prequels - but I even enjoy those. Some of it is MUCH better than other stuff, but, even the OT is hokey as hell when you get down to it. I don't get why people get their knickers in a twist over every little thing these days. It's literally a space fairy tale (George's words, not mine) - we're not exactly talking "high art" here. This looks fun to me. And just to leave my comment on a fun note, The Acolyte, aside from some bad dialogue and wooden acting from the lead, was flippin' dope. =)

This is one of the worst comments I have ever read on KZfaq. She absolutely did miss THE cinematic masterpiece of filmmaking and that was George Lucas' 6 Star Wars films - the Star Wars Saga. From the Prequels to the Originals, these films are indeed masterpieces in filmmaking. Only someone who is illiterate in the craft of film, cinema history and the history of art in general would say otherwise. George Lucas is a legendary filmmaker and his films are all fantastic. Star Wars should not be seen as a mere brand or blockbuster franchise - there is much, much more to it than that. Become literate in cinema and you'll see what I mean.
