This game is based on one of the best arcades racing games call maximum tune from the wangan midnight series. I believe the developer made it as his free time but he never thought the game will be popular. So I think he is planning to keep the game going in the future. Thats what I heard

IIRC, It used to be a test project made with Unity for "study" reasons. That's what the dev said on its KZfaq channel years ago. I'd be glad if the dev added multiplayer and the other stuff you said to it!

This game was based on the Arcade game series "Wangan Midnight" which was based on a Manga of the same name, from what I remember, a guy restores a 240Z called "Devil Z" based on the Mid Night Club's Real Devil Z. There's also an anime. hopefully this gets future updates.

i believe this is based off of an arcade game called something along the lines of "wangan midnight" i think it originated in japan, but it is kinda popular where i live (in australia) and its really cool. i used to go to the arcade all the time and play it before i got my steering wheel setup. this game is rlly cool, i hope it comes to console. nice vid goose!

I like the barrier part cuz it makes the gameplay smoother but I also like AC is also good cuz it teaches you not to hit the barrier freely as in real life, yeah hitting the barrier is more than going bananas.

Wheel support isn't trivial to do, force feedback is very complicated to get right. From my understanding, this project started as the one guy testing his Unity Engine skills by implementing a racing game in it, but he didn't have any intention of releasing it as an actual game. That it got far enough that we can now download it and do time trials is probably due to how massively popular his demo videos were. But he only messes with the thing in his free time and I wouldn't really expect much at least in the near future when it comes to making this a fully fledged game.

i want a game like this thats more focused on tuning aspet,like realistic ecu tuning and changing fuel/spark maps so when cars are maxxed out a good tuner will have advantages,making broader horspower/ torque curves and such. also a list of countless performance parts you can mix and match for power gains while wrong setups can hurt power curves and make it so every car has a unique build so no two builds can be coppied for max power it will take trial and error with different parts and tunes. crash physics where it costs you money to fix and your car can be totaled,realistic physics where if you bend a control arm your turnings effected,break radiator your car will start to overheat. last thing have extreme rare parts come out limited to a few hundred for those who win competitions and such,things that will give a slight advantage.these will be cars most sought after and be sold for huge money when they have rare parts on them. if you total the ar you can retreive the parts from it and have them stored in garage

Only game I know that has live horsepower display (and it has torque display, g-sensors) is Fast & Furious Tokyo Drift (PS2). But you need change the HUD from analog to digital first.

About the question of how much would it cost to use real life cars in video games, found something on the internet that said that in 2004, Lamborghini would charge 400k to gaming companies that wanted to use their cars in games. Think it all depends on the brand and what type of cars people want to add to their game, but it's not gonna be cheap that's for sure
