I wish they make a fight like that today because this is probably my favorite bowser fight in any mario game. I loved the part where he turned into the shell form and it synced into the music

Late af but I think this was the perfect way to end off the NSMB series. Instead of running from Bowser and pressing a switch to defeat him, you're forced to fight him head on

According to Nathaniel Bandy if no one else figured it out. The first time Bowser grows giant for the final battle is Super Mario Sunshine, then next, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, then Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Bowser was giant for most of the game, but he grows even bigger after faking his death in the final battle), then New Super Mario Bros. 2, and finally, this: New Super Mario Bros. U. That is a total of five times when Bowser grows giant for the final battle.
