Rode one of these on Tuesday. Really good handling bike with a very strong mid range making it ideal for fast road progress. Quickshifter was also spot on.

As an American who is starved for information on this bike - particularly rider reviews, I was super excited to see this come up I just spent 25 minutes of my life to hear “hhaaauuggghhh” and the bike is “naughty” and tastes like chocolate with liquor inside. What in the actual fucksticks was the point of this?? Honest question for a new viewer. Also would have liked to see some actual RPM riding. Was painful to watch 30kph in 6th gear for kilometers on end. I understand that every channel is not for every person, and that’s fine. I think your personality is great if it’s interspersed with some actual facts, specifications and details about what you’re feeling and how the bike operates. Something like: “The GSX-8S comes standard with a quick shifter HAAUGGGHH. It’s smooth and easy to use, which is naughty.” Good luck on your future videos. I’ll take any new GSX-8S content I can get, I’m just starved for actual rider feedback.

Thanks for the review, very interesting TAYM. I test rode one of these on Thursday and loved it. To be honest, I was all set to order the CB750 Hornet but after trying this new GSX 8S I've been turned. Have to say that both bikes are superb but overall the Suzuki won me over. In my opinion, it feels a more substantial bike and not quite as cramped as the Honda. Heavier, with a bigger wheelbase gives the GSX a more stable and sure footed feel on the road and into corners. Better ride too (for me). The low to mid range punch on that GSX is bloody fantastic, although the CB750 is not that far behind and the Honda does perform a bit better at the top end. For me personally, and by the time the Quickshifter option has been added to the Honda, I'm quite happy to pay the extra 750 quid to have the GSX 8S.

Mr TAYM, we're living in extraordinary times, so many manufacturers with fantastic models. I need a larger garage.

Loved the review 👍 I've just got my brand new SV and yes I'd love this especially in black but I also got a cracking deal on my SV and couldn't really stretch to this £1500 more without free service for 2 years like I got, double the APR and more insurance ......will work up to this then 😊👍 Keep up the great reviews

Nice review Mr TAYM, my brother had the previous 750 version loved the engine and handling but found it was very uncomfortable after about 40 minutes so he changed to a Triumph 900.

Another trustworthy review. Thanks. Too bad about the speed limits there. Where I live those country lanes are 55 mph. Nearer the town 45. Highway around 70 but nobody bothers you at 80+. Of course being able to open 'er up once in awhile is the fun bit.😊 Have a great weekend. I won't be riding for another week as I'm helping my daughter remodel her house. Which is a good thing. But I do dwell on thinking of my poor stationery motorcycles.😂

I own the 22 GSX-S1000 in blue. I must say, when I first saw the GSX-8S I didn't particularly like the look of it. I knew it was going to be an awesome bike just from the fact its a suzuki and the spec sheet certaintly looks very enticing. But this blacked out version really makes it look much, much better in my opinion. I mean for me, it would be the difference between buying one and not buying one. Its not that the blue is ugly, I just don't particularly like it. It looks... a bit plasticy maybe? Its hard to describe. This black one you are riding looks great, it looks really serious and "grown up".

Good review but I'll stick with my SV1000. Had the 650 K5 for 5 years - loved it and being a Suzuki dead simple to improve. I ride those roads quite often and I have to say you have more faith in the road conditions than I do considering the whole of Suffolk is one big pothole. Great to see Orwell getting some air time too

What a marvellous enthusiastic review of this naughty boy bike, I'm paying close attention to your mannerisms for reasons soon to be revealed 🕵️😉 From the side it's quite similar to the KTM Duke but from the front it's even more insectoid looking ( "good for piercing pedestrians" lol I love that one. 😂 As for what dog it would be, I think it would have to be a Greyhound or a Whippet 🤔

Looks like Darth Vader’s helmet at the front 😂 I don’t really agree with your analogy about going to church etc on the Hornet, well you could, as you (or me especially 😎) seek forgiveness for the naughtiness you constantly do. As mentioned before, this bike is on my to do list, but in the looks department, I still think it is a bit too pointy at the front, but I do like the back. Nice to see them introducing colour to the engine casings too, hopefully getting away from all black. You did look like you were having fun, zooming in where naughtiness took over. Nice first impressions review, and hopefully you will do a revisit once it has a few more miles on 😉. Cheers

Morning TAYM . To me this and the Hornet are in a different class to the SV , a higher performance level bike altogether. The SV is really aimed at the new rider and smaller people with its seat height and clever " no stall" rev thingy. My local Suzuki dealer's were REALLY happy when I told them the waiting time on the Hornet is now September! ... it will give them a better chance to sell some 8S's Picked up my new CL500 in green yesterday .... chuffed!

I have to say TAYM I find myself quite liking this one luvin those evil looks especially in the black , this or the Hornet that's not an easy one very interesting and surprised the Suzuki has the top end on the Hornet . I have always tended to be more a Suzuki person than a Honda one really it's just how it is . The twins are taking over and for single rider use since these seat "well " they don't exist really like the center stands why ? . This would come down to price and height for me with comfort thrown in between these two , but I would still have to have a classic looking styled bike in the garage as well , I am not sure this style has the longevity of the classic style of bike . I think eventually this style will look dated ( or maybe not time will tell I guess ) .Much enjoyed and definitely chilly chocolate with an impressive turn of speed too .Coooool 😉👌👍

I prefer this to the Hornet but £1000+ more expensive and with less power is a bit of a deal breaker.

So yesterday I managed to test ride this bike courtesy of the nice people at Crescent Motorcycles in Bournemouth. As it happens the same dealer but in a different location (Southampton) that I rode the Honda Hornet. I should perhaps add that riding a bike on familiar roads (on the Suzuki) is a very different experience to riding on unknown roads (Honda) exacerbated by our common enemy the proliferation of pot holes (in some cases craters might be a better description). Rant over. First impressions of the Suzuki pretty much coincide with those of this review. It's a very nice, well built bike and loads of fun to ride. I can't honestly think of anything substantial I don't like about the bike. Most of the differences between the Suzuki and Honda come down to nit picking or personal preference. I would suggest, as has already been said, the Suzuki feels a bit more "substantial" but perhaps at the expense of the Honda feeling a bit more "raw". Dare I sat the Honda, unexpectedly perhaps, is a bit more "exciting" to ride. Of course it could be said the trepidation of what crater might be just round the corner whilst out on the Honda might have added to the "excitement". At the end of the day though both bikes are a step up from the previous king of the middleweights, the MT07 (IMHO and I used to own one). I'd be happy to own either Suzuki or Honda as the pros and cons of both bikes tend to cancel each other out so perhaps it just comes down to personal preference... Except. The elephant(s) in the room.... The Suzuki is a grand more (£750 if you include the quick shifter on the Honda) and I'm still struggling to find why I'd pay the extra but, on the other side, you'd be lucky to get a Honda before the autumn and I think the lead times are getting longer and longer. On the brighter side... Two great bikes to choose from. Aren't we lucky.

Hello sir, is the 8S more comfortable for taller people than the Hornet? I sat on the Hornet and felt very cramped, I hope the 8S has more legroom!

Looks the naughty boy bike image to a T. Since I don't have a Suzuki dealer close to me the closest comparison I have would be the Kawasaki and Yamaha contenders at my local dealer. They also have Honda, but no Hornet to compare it to. I wouldn't mind taking the Yamaha MT, in either (or both) sizes for a nice ride.

Another bike i want to get a test ride on. Even though the Hornet has more bhp, is lighter and £1K cheaper, this 8S speaks to me more. Not sure about the styling, i'm getting a bit old for this modern pointy styling on todays bikes. Also i really dont like where the rear light is. But i will test ride one, even though its unlikely i'll want it to replace my current naked street, Yam XSR9.

People who Do not Like "Generic" P.Ts wont like it People who Do will Love it some say they all look The Same I dont think so I Can Tell an MT07 From an Z650 Or a Hornet 750 From. This GSX8S Easily Enough. I like The Stacked Headlights they are very Different To other Bikes and you came off the Fence Regarding wich one you Prefer.. I agree 👍

Thanks for the review,i think you have confirmed what i initially thought about the Hornet vs this GSX8-S,while on paper the Honda seems to have it beat to me its a bit too safe and uninspiring,the Suzook just has that extra bit of pizzazz in my book,if only they could be a bit bolder with the colour options.Not doubting your info but 145mph for this Bike im a tad sceptical but the proof will be in the pudding im sure.

Not a fan of the styling. What's with the huge gap between the front wheel and the exhaust headers? Almost looks like a piece of faring is missing... I ride a GSX-S750 and much prefer it to this in all aspects

How easy is it to adjust the chain on a bike with no centre stand I wonder?

For me it was this bike or the Ducati monster . After a test ride I bought the new 937 . Although I still like the looks of the Suzuki. The only thing that made me buying the Ducati over the Suzuki is just because i never owned a Ducati before.

I very much enjoyed seeing your take on the GSX-8S. We have to love a Suzuki sports bike! Very naughty apparently. Just think of the dogs, chickens and snakes that I could scare on that 👍I would probably rather buy a SV though, while stocks last. I doubt if I would ever use the power on tap of the GSX, where I ride. Great stuff as usual.

The thing is... Why would I pay a grand more for a bike with less power than the Honda??? Personally I prefer the looks of the Suzuki (though that's subjective) but that's a pretty huge price difference to justify.

I've never used a Q.S., and don't really have the need for one. You can work the clutch exactly the same as any bike w/out a Q.S., correct? I'd rather Suzuki offer a model w/ out a Q.S. for $1k less.

It's a bit of a bugger when you don't know the speed limit on a unfamiliar road and there's not a nice policeman around to tell you....oh hang on what am I saying.

The fuel tank is too small

There is a glitch in the matrix TAYM the rules say that Suzuki always follows Honda with a model which is faster and cheaper. This goes against the nature of the universe and I have to say even though neither of them are good looking bikes I actually think the Honda is less ugly than this. Can you tell I'm not a fan 🤣🤣🤣
