Which would you choose at $20? If I was going to spend over $20, which SAK would you recommend I get?

I have had good luck with real Swiss Army knives but have had good luck with my Olights. I like the form factor on the Otacle though. The lever length on the scissors helps cutting, give the Otacle the edge,

The rambler is the best but I am pulling my hair off waiting for oknife to add a philips driver to the otacle.

Thanks for the suggestions. I looked at both and they seem to have a similar toolset; however, there is a $20 price difference. I ordered both to review as I'd like to know why there is such a big difference in price.

Try an alox one like the Pioneer X or minichamp alox. You loose some tools but the build quality is great and the awl is fantastic. Great if you are an EDC guy that can just have the scale tools inside your wallet or some other pack instead.

You should try the Victorinox Rambler which doesn't weigh that much over the Classic but is a lot more useful.

I have the Otacle K1. It did come with a split ring in the box. The tweezers are larger than the SAK. I paired the K1 with a few micro tools onto the split ring from Grimworkshop.

The victorinox classic is in a category of knives known as a gentleman's pocket knife. It was never meant to be a survival knife. Please stop making it out to be something that it is not.

To be honest i don't think there was any suggestion as to what they knives can and can't do, but more of a comparison. Personally i would always choose a SAK for a variety of reasons. Trust is a big one. I've never had a SAK fail on me in the decades i have been using them and i must be the only person in the world who likes the cellidor scales as the smooth edges are comfortable to use and slip in to the pocket without edges digging in and being uncomfortable, even these small tools...

Im a swiss fan but that k1 looks slimmer and has better scissors and larger knife id probably switch my sd out for that

I'm an electrical engineer who watched MacGyver as a kid. I like to be prepared for anything and admit it is over the top. I use small scissors, screwdrivers, and a flashlight almost daily at work. Pliers and adjustable wrenches weekly. I'm interested in what your needs are?

That's a really cool job. I can't image you using a Leatherman for many tasks as I'd assume you need to use much higher quality and specialized tools for anything on a plane. What is your EDC?

Looks can be deceiving! My pack may seem cluttered, but each item has its own unique function. It's like a survivalist's version of Mary Poppins' bag!
