Yet another Taylor comment line that shows people who don’t like the brand love to watch the videos and then complain about what they heard. This is a gorgeous instrument with a lovely tone. And Taylor makes such a wonderful neck. I’d buy one if I wasn’t already bonded with a Maple Builder’s Edition. Quinton helped sell that one to me on another video. What I like in the Taylor sound, if you will, is that each note rings out clearly, like a choir. The overtones bloom. And you can make a meal out of a single plucked string. So scoff if you will, but an open mind and an in person trial might be worth your time.

Not a worship player, @@jefferyclark351, just a bedroom one. Yet, I see the advantage in a choir setting of having a clear voice that can shape shift through many styles. I like the Taylor for jazz voicings which have 4 note chords that sound best if you hear all the tones evenly, especially those in the mid range. But … I also love playing a 12-fret Martin 000-15SM which I purchased at Music Villa, it has the vibe of the 1930s in every note. I'm a fan of both brands, and also have a vintage Yairi. Taylor doesn't need fan boys, I only became one after going into a store to buy a Martin and got entranced by the Taylor. Took three visits to really convince me that I liked the Taylor over the Martin, as I had the ability and motivation to purchase one of the two.

Does the Taylor V class bracing yield a longer sustain to the instrument than an X bracing system? Is the Adi top a special order item?

This is the first Taylor to use Adirondack top, which is not a custom build.

Just received a new Taylor 814 Builders Edition Black top . My Luthier is telling me it needs a $200.00 fret job to be playable . It is going back . I am done with Taylor .

Their mini isn’t bad or even the cheaper 110 but the rest of their stable is terrible. Never heard a Taylor or takamine that had any soul. Sure there might be one out there but I haven’t heard it

Auramac - yup, seems since Andy's played a bigger role in Taylor's ops, CE models have increased substantially, as well as electronics being standard on most models (no electronics? Need to order that way with most models). Andy's interpretations of acoustics' future direction? Anyhow, admittedly, for a CE this Taylor does sound outstanding, one of those acoustics that would probably sound better with a personal demo.

@@MrJohnmarr - Here's an idea, let's start a blog or forum called "Ask Andy." Really like Andy, great guy, just seems he's heading Taylor in a direction that he feels is the future for acoustics.
