Thanks so much for showing my paints on your channel, Kay. I'm absolutely thrilled that you liked them so much. I am delighted you did all those experiments, especially the one on coloured pencil. I hadn't tried that myself as I presumed it wouldn't stick to the wax. How wrong was I? I never even thought about trying them over watercolour pencils, Inktense and markers but it looked great. You've got such good ideas. You were asking about desk lighting for filming. I use one of those hood lights. Not sure what you call them but it's a big black hood with a large daylight bulb inside. On my vlog on Sunday, I'll show my lighting setup. Thanks again, K, I appreciate this so much 😊

Who doesn't love Rebecca's paints? They are gorgeous. Great demo of them here K. As for lighting, I think your camera is fighting you. The more light you bring in, the darker things get. Your white balance is trying to auto correct. See if you can find out how to set the white balance manually. It will solve your problems I'm sure. And Rebecca has demonstrated her diffused lighting set-up too. A ring light is supposed to work the same way, but I've no experience of those. I have 3 of the large daylight bulbs in black and white diffuser cloth covers like Rebecca's. I have them at work for photographing my sparkling tapes. Goodness they are hard to photo. I could not do it with an auto white balance. On a different note, I'm starting to get a bit alarmed by how fast exam marking time seems to be coming around these days. Can't you slow the school year for me? I'm getting old!

You don't have to buy expensive lights. I painted at night for years, and so had to set up decent light on a budget. You just need two light sources, one on each side directed toward your desktop so they cancel out shadows. If there is a bright ceiling light in the room turn it off so it doesn't cast a shadow from your head. Depending on your setup this could be clamp lamps, desk lamps, or standing lamps. You can often find lamps at a thrift/second hand shop if you are looking for a bargain. You want full spectrum bulbs which you can find at your local hardware store. These will give you the best true color. If you can't find them look for "daylight" bulbs which at least don't make everything yellow.

Thanks for sharing your new glittery paints from the Art Spirits. They're beautiful on a black background and over the various mediums you tested. I have Rebecca's Tin Man, another silver and 1 or 2 golds, but I bought the full sized pans so I wouldn't have to pay for shipping again to the U.S. for any future replacement pans. Her paints are gorgeous for sure!

Thanks for sharing! I wish I could get these paints but I can't justify spending over $55 on 6 colors, even though they are beautiful! My hubby was thinking about getting them for me when he asked me how much they were and I told him, he laughed and said yeah right because he thought I was just messing with him 😂😂😂 But I look forward to seeing how you use them on your pages!🥰
