Would like to see videos of the rest of the math as they come out and other curriculum videos as well. Also would like to see how you schedule your year, what curriculums you mix and match, your approach to homeschooling multiple children at once, etc. Just some ideas. ❤ love the homeschooling videos. They are so helpful! Thank you!

Hey 👋🏻 Primary (kindergarten/elementary) teacher here. Those subtraction stories look great- I’m sure you know but the main point of those is to make sure kiddos can pick out the relevant information in “real world” scenarios and decide what they want to do with that information to find the answer. So good to see subtraction stories catching on widely!

We do 4 days a week as well some times 3. We have one day a week that we do co-op and library day. With some many things to fit into the schedule doing 4 days a week is much more feasible.

My 4 year old and 5 year old are working from this book. They love it and it takes no time at all to complete the lessons. Which is probably why they always want to keep going. It's short sweet and to the point. So, I give this a 👍 to anyone whose trying to decide if this will fit them. Plus I get to take my time and go through it thoroughly with my 4 year old. My 5 year old catches on very quickly.

We're about two months into the old K math curriculum. I got it when they had it on clearance. There's quite a bit we skip. Glad to see they have less "stuff"

Level 2 is wonderful thus far! I love the manipulatives and the little box that keeps them all together. Check TGTB page as Jenny puts the flip throughs on there.

I’m a huge proponent of manipulatives especially for young learners. Helps build number sense starting from concrete to representational to abstract and application reasoning. New subscriber.

We just finished TGTB Simply K Math and my daughter loved loved loved it! She also has loved the K LA and Handwriting. She is excited to add their little hands science. She finished her handwriting before we were done with school, she got so mad that she refused to do school until I printed her off some more! Ha ha

We just bought the simply math for grade 1 ans it’s absolutely beautiful! I am a former public school teacher/reading specialist and I absolutely love this and think it is well laid out and challenging way beyond a public school curriculum. I don’t know the previous math - but I am enjoying this! Thanks for flipping through K! Do you think they will have another convention again soon!? 🤞🏻😭

Yay homeschool content!! 🥳 my kids LOVE the original math so I bought up when they majorly clearanced it out. But once all my kids are school age I think the lessons being shorter will be nice.

I’m excited to see the upper levels too. We used the older level k this year and it was good but towards the end we were skipping some of the bonus activities. We did keep them for fun learning time so not a loss but no way could we finish all of them I think especially since my son loves to get the work done and play. We do have the levels 1 & 2 that we purchased on clearance but thinking we may switch anyway to the newer levels especially if they are simplified like the level k just released. Thanks for sharing.

Level 2 came out a couple weeks ago or so. We just started it this week. We love it so much more than Master Books as I’d personally rather there be “too much” than not enough.

I just received ours for my Kindergartener and I cannot wait for the others. I already love it, huge upgrade. The other version was so cumbersome and I had to skip so many parts of it, which made it feel like I was wasting the money spent on it all.

Do you feel like this new one jumps around too much? I feel the old one jumped around and didn’t teach a concept long enough before moving on..I haven’t heard anyone say that part has changed yet

I had the old kindergarten curriculum for my oldest, we made it less than halfway through and stopped. It was so overwhelming. We switched to maaterbooks and have been enjoying that through first grade.

I used the old version in level K for my daughter and I had such a love hate relationship with it! I liked it’s approach to learning and my daughter enjoyed it, but i HATED all the stuff I had to use and the repetitive daily dose part! I’m looking forward to doing level 1 in the new version next school year

I bought the next 3 years of the old! I was already obsessed with what is was. We LOVED the amount and the box but it was level 2. We needed all of it. Every 30 minutes. Same obsession with their language art. I will buy the new 5th too when it comes time. We liked handwriting/typing/science but we have ventured on... Next year is all purchased. I will own every tgatb reader n special book they have thou lol. It's just a goldmine in the mass amounts of curriculums out there...Im headed to the Great homeschool curriculum so im sure ill learn more. Eekkk! It can be a obsession lol.

I'm not sure if you've done this already, but if not, can you explain your homeschool schedule? This will be my first year homeschooling, this Fall, and I'm trying to figure out a schedule that will work for us that would also allow housework to get done etc! We are using level one math now and it’s a nightmare. All the games, manipulatives, etc are so overwhelming for me as the teacher. I’m sooooo looking forward to the new math. Crossing my fingers that it’s better.

Both my girls do the old math (I went a bit crazy and purchased all possible levels for them when it was put on clearance 😂). My girls love the math, but I've definitely gotten tired of getting out all of the manipulatives. I'm kind of wishing I hadn't gone quite so overboard because I think the new math would keep everything we love about it, and change the tedious parts. Though, I could also just be jealous of the adorable, wooden manipulative boxes too 🤣

We loved the former Level 2 until about mid-year. It was WAY to wordy for her with née, more complex concepts to grasp. The math box was easily organized in to a craft box from Walmart ($7), but the instruction became overwhelming and she shut down. I am so excited to try level K with our PreK child when it’s time.

Do you think the currency portion would be suitable for a different country where we don’t have nickels, dimes and pennys? Like we could use different cent value coins?

Yes I definitely think you can just substitute the currency. Just have some on hand for visuals:)

If we had those cars in a manipulatives box I'd have to hide them! I honestly love the daily dose part of the old math but we often skip the bonus independent activities. By the end of the regular lesson he is *done.* I'm curious to see what the rest of the new math looks like, I kind of wish I had purchased all the old math when it was clearance because I still think I like it better.

We love Math U See, even my child with a cognitive disability and math disability. We’ll stick with that. However, this looks like a great curriculum too. We did things a little more backwards from you, in that we adopted three kids with special needs and typical adoption needs first, then had three neurotypical bio kids. My oldest bio kid is going into pre-K. She won’t start true school work until next year, but it’s a new kind of planning. Thanks for the video.

My only complaint is I definitely wish they focused more on early Math before moving on so quickly. As in, I wish they focused more on knowing the numbers before moving on to addition, tally marks, time, money, etc. My oldest daughter did public school Kindergarten and they didn’t learn money or time until first grade. I feel like getting numbers and counting down pat is more important at the Kinder level. But TGTB does always seem to be a year advanced compared to other curriculums. Because of this specific issue, I still haven’t ordered and have gone back and forth because my up-and-coming Kindergartener doesn’t have much basic knowledge of numbers and I don’t want to be rushing her.

I’d maybe wait and just work on basics for the first half of the year, then you can start it once you feel your child has the basics and can move on at the pace this requires. And I totally agree that many of their offerings are either fast paced or a grade level ahead! I hope that won’t make parents worry unnecessarily if their kid isn’t getting it as fast! 😬

Unfortunately it’s not. My son went to public school in kindergarten and they did all that. It’s crazy what they have those babies do so young. He was breaking sentences down into nouns, verbs, and adjectives in kindergarten also.

I am so glad you said the first version was too much for your kids. I managed to get through 6 lessons and my child completely lost interest. Glad it wasn't just us! The new version looks so much better.
