I began using the Reviv serum about two weeks ago on your recommendation. My goal was anti-aging, so I certainly didn't expect to see anything for months. I awoke the next day and COULD NOT BELIEVE what I saw in the mirror. The redness from my rosacea was COMPLETELY gone. I'm 56 and haven't seen my natural skin color in at least 10-20 years. People comment on my facial redness on almost a daily basis and believe me, it gets old. I've tried EVERYTHING to reduce the redness and the closest anything has come is NIOD's Modulating Glucosides. I thought it was just a fluke after that first application, but no. I'm using it twice a day and it's the only thing I've added or changed in my routine. I actually cried!!! Since I've only used this new formula I have no idea if it's the new conditioning media or what, but it's been a miracle for me. I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart since no one has asked me about my "sunburn" in two weeks!!! I could hug you! 🥰🥰🥰

That's really great. I don't think people who don't have rosacea understand what it's like to have a red sore face. I am not embarrassed or having a hot flush 24/7. Redness is also quite tricky to hide at times and applying makeup to sore skin is not always pleasant either. I'm really pleased this has worked so well for you. I'm on a strict budget and live in the UK, so it's probably not something that I'll be able to try, but thankfully what I'm using is keeping my skin quite calm anyway. It took a lot of trial and error to get to this stage though. I just wanted to mention that I'm really happy for you. x

Penny once again you’ve nailed it! Just today I ordered two bottles of Naturium’s bio lipid body cream which is an amazing product and I’d love for you to check it out. but while I was there I saw the retinaldehyde and I bought it! Now I come here and I see that you love it which makes me so much more excited about my purchase. I’m also going to check out the two products from soft surfaces because I think they sound right up my alley. And you were absolutely right here I am turning 60 and still a beach Gower and I recognize how much I need to take care of the skin on my body. In fact when your body skin is not supple and well cared for it makes you look so much older-just like with your face. ❤ you really are such a blessing to me.

Love it. Want to try them all, with the exception of the growth factor serum as I’ve had AK and family history of melanoma and my Derm advised not to given limited data on its safety for skin cancers. I use 0.1% tretinoin, so will pass on the Naturiam as well. Still on the fence about that brand, if im being honest too.

Hey Penny, one of the things I'm hoping always that you'll cover is the hair removal for faces. Devices and products... reviews and professional opinions... I’m really excited about another option for cysteamine! I’ve been using one by the brand all purpose creams for around $55 and it’s fine but it’s a little bit difficult to get and I’m definitely going to need another bottle before 16 weeks! Hi Penny... you look absolutely beautiful!!! Always look forward to your videos!!! I was using the new Truth Systems Retinol and it spilled out... dogs!! It was $250.00... I almost cried!!! I have been using Versed body cream with Retinol and I need more with my crepey skin... so anything I add for the body I will!!! I also heard the Versed Retinol product is wonderful!!! Question if the product is for melisma will it still be a good choice for anti-aging?

Regarding the Revive serum, thank you for the discount code, I would not consider ordering it without the code because it is pricey. I've never used the original but am excited to try this one. Since it appears thinner than my current retinol serum, I am assuming it goes on the skin immediately after cleansing. Love these type of videos. Thank you.

I have paired my cysteamine routine by washing my face after dinner and watching an hour of tv. Because we take a couple of breaks, I then apply my cream and usually my show is over at about the same time as it’s time to wash it off. It’s on my coffee table, so I don’t forget.😊 I did not realize that Reviv contained Arbutin…is it okay to still use this afterwards or should I move reviv to the morning? I have not noti any dryness , not sure if that’s what I should be concerned about. I am still using a double-tubed bottle.

This is by NO means a criticism (you know I love you!) but more a suggestion as to what your viewers (or maybe just me?🤔) might find more helpful in the future. If there’s something new that excites you and could prove to have some impressive results, if you do a video AFTER you’ve completed the course of treatment rather than before, I know I would find that video indispensable. Obviously, since I watch every video you put out I’ll eventually see the results of you using the Cysteamine, but if the video posted today had been after those 16 weeks, that would have been AMAZING and so informative (bc you’d have tips and tricks you amassed over those 4 months) and helpful as to making those purchasing decisions. Hope that makes sense! Grateful for the content no matter what, just a possible tweak for future videos. 🤗Thanks as always!

Penny I have been a long time follower and recently got back into watching again. A few years ago I remember you recommending Bradceuticals in a growth factor dupe video. How does the Revive in your opinion compare? I am still a fan of that serum but Revive is a bit more in price.

Hi Penny some really interesting things for sure. I use the Geek and gorgeous (Hungarian brand) retinaldehyde in both the 0.05 and the 0.1% depending on how my skin is (plus I use the 0.05% on my neck/chest. It's an affordable option here in the UK or Europe at around £15 for 30mls. I've been using it for a couple of years now and I'm really happy with it. I use the Avene physiolift retinaldehyde eye cream (same strength as the retrinal, but less expensive) and it's around £22 for 15mls here in the UK. I did use tretinoin for a bit more than a year until my rosacea worsened and it became a bit too active for me btw. i then moved down to retinaldehyde and have been happy with it since. I love urea in my bodycare (as previously mentioned in the urea ingredient spotlight video), but I do like lactic acid a couple of times a week. For years I've used the Ammeliorate lotion fragrance free version. It's around £23 for a tube so i use it a bit more sparingly and under a richer cream (I'm extremely dry/eczema prone though). It's useful for exfoliating away the dead skin left over after an eczema flare has healed - don't apply to broken skin though ouch. I mostly use it on my arms and torso due to the price. Despite all the issues eczema has given me over the years, my body skin has been so well moisturised all my life I don't have too many issues with a lot of notable aging really (I'm 50). I've applied moisturiser head to toe twice daily most of my life. As I'm a fitzpatrick one I've also avoided the sun (due to the risk of burns and prickly heat), so I don't have much sun damage there - having been covered up for most of my life and sitting in the shade. My face/neck and hands have more sun damage (as they've not been as covered up), but truthfully my body skin has barely any sun damage. I do think that the urea based moisturisers I've used for so many years has helped, but lactic acid may have played a part too. I have never ever had a "tan", so perhaps the trade off is less sun damage lol. I don't think the lactic acid/urea product nor the glycerin bodywash is available in the UK, so perhaps the Ammeliorate and the Altruist lotions could be an alternative for those outwith the US. I use it very *close* to first (but I’m not stressing over it being very first. Vitamin A is pretty potent and can work usually when it’s not very first) in my evening routine right now bc it is pretty lightweight. I do use reviv (serum) first, then DNA repair enzymes then naturium retinal then I do like to moisturize sometimes. I change up my products and my order often but I always have a retinoid, DNA repair and growth factors and a pigment inhibitor in the mix (I try any way 💜).

I love SkinMedica TNS Advanced + Serum but the bottle can drive me nuts! I’m going to try the Reviv serum, what face lotion do you wear with it? Because as you know the TNS Advanced + Serum has a lotion & serum. I love the two in one but the bottle can be fussy.

I was on tret (0.05), but didn’t find it a pleasure to use, so now switched to medic8 crystal 6, I live in Uk so can’t get naturium 😢😢, is there a big difference between tret and crystal 6 as I might switch back, thank you

I have been using the Avene retrinal 0.1 intensive cream and love it. I was wondering what your thoughts are on the new Maelove moonlight retinal super serum? It is less expensive than Avene so I was hoping it is as good.

The Naturium Retinal looks amazing and a likely great dupe for the more pricey Medik8 Crystal Retinals. I'm now on Tretinoin but before that I was using Medik8 and saw wonderful results. Would love to have your thoughts on the new line released by Dr. Sheerene Idriss which is targeted towards hyperpigmentation/melasma. ❤❤

I have to say that the Urban Skin has a scent WAY less offensive than Cyspera 😂 I barely smell anything at all and the price point makes long term use way more realistic. I used it for the first time this morning. No mineral oil, which I know isn’t horrible but I’m just glad it’s not there, plus other nice ingredients like niacinamide and Vit E. I pray revisiting this ingredient helps me out with my melasma (I feel Cyspera didn’t make a difference but 2 tubes at $160 EACH didn’t make sense to continue on). I would love to hear about others’ experiences with Urban Skin’s version longer term!!

Hi Penny! Can you use the smoothing serum under OneSkin body? Or would it negate the benefits of OneSkin since it normally needs to be the first applied? Maybe apply serum, wait 30 minutes or so and then apply OneSkin?

Speaking of retunaldahyde, can we talk about geek and gorgeous A game Retinal?! Hello that’s the least expensive and best formulated one I’ve ever used! They do a .5 & .1% and they’re fantastic!! Like 20$ or less. Highly recommend!

I do have a question since you touched on body skincare. What should I use to apply shower gel/ bodywash with? I used to use puffs, I have dry dehydrated skin, am peri menopausal. I don’t want to be too abrasive. But I want to feel clean. I can’t find advice on this anywhere. Thanks ❤

I can tell you from personal experience, that using shower gloves has worked for me. They have enough exfoliation properties to them, without being too abrasive. However, you do NOT want to use them on your "nether regions!" I wash them 1st without them on, then clean my hands w/ body wash, then put the gloves on & wash the rest of my body. Hope that information helps. 🤗

I have to alternate tret .1 with the maelove retinaldyhyde and I adore it. Does anyone have an answer to this conundrum if I have had skin cancer should I avoid EGFs????

I also adore the Maelove retinaldehyde! It’s really good! As for the cancer/EGF-ask your derm. I think it’s important enough to ask a treating physician before using EGF. 💜

No, you can use almost any conductivity gel. Newa does formulate their gel to work with the heat but I’ve successfully used other gels (that are less expensive) 💜

Yes! Adapalene is an excellent choice. However, It works on only one receptor whereas tretinoin works on 3. Adapalene has been shown to improve hyperpigmentation-but is best used when treating acne. I love that it’s accessible here in the states though-and affordable!

Hmmm. Yes I think as long as you don’t do a ton of sweating? I have used it literally *in* the shower (so my skin is damp) and it was ok. But once I washed my face and forgot to wait and it did irritate my skin (right by my eyes….will never make that mistake again).

The point of all that is that damp skin risks irritation with cysteamine. So If you sweat and use it you might get irritation 💜

Hi Penny. I've heard you talk about Reviv before. Is it oncology approved? I don't not have any history of skin cancer, I'm just wondering. Also, have you spoken with the creators of this product? Have you learned about the authenticity of the ingredients in this product? I'm not sure if I'm correct about this but, isn't true that there are no real FDA regulations on ingredients in products so anyone can say anything? I'd like to start using the Reviv serum so any light you can shed on these questions are appreciated!

Ultimate Serum is indeed oncologically-safe. Think of conditioned media like PRP (platelet-rich plasma) or the secretion that the body produces to heal a cut or wound. It does not cause "aberrant" or uncontrolled growth, but instead a healthy supportive environment for recovery. "Conditioned Media" is not live tissue; it only contains the liquid that stem cells are cultured in at the lab. Such tissue is always removed entirely using bio-processes, and the leftover media contains the growth factor cytokines spurred by the culture. The stem cells we utilize for our Human Bone Marrow Stem Cell Conditioned Media and Human Fibroblast Conditioned Media are from U.S. paid screened volunteer young adult female donors. That culture then acts like a "yeast starter" and can be replicated over and over again.
