Thanks to you I have just tackled my first paint project. I painted the left headlight door on my 99 Firebird. I had a lot of sanding because it had so many little spots of surface rust from all the rock chips. getting ready to do the right one before the 2K clear goes off. Thank you for helping me tackle this, while it is not 100% perfect, it looks soooooo much better now and I am happy.

Perfect. I'm not a painter but you can always see when a silver car has had a touch up, they never blend and there's always a mis-match between panels. This shows it is possible.

The DV1s is a work of art, i have 2 i use daily in my mobile paint business. I got got the DV1c for big jobs but that S is so damn good, only thing that came close for me is the ANI R160 (which i only use rarely but saves me a ton of paint with the TE cap).

Hey Brain love the channel. Have a question. So going to be doing my restore on my 2001 Ford F250 this summer. The thing is I dont have a garage big enough for my truck so doing it outside is my only option. I wil say that Im going to be able to do the fenders and possibly the bed in the garage but wont be able to fit the cab so that part is going to have to be outside. With that said do you have any advice/recommendations on trying to complete this project outside

Brian, you always say use slow or extra slow reducer, but when I read on it, it says for 80+ degrees. What about for somewhere like Seattle? It’s in the 50’s here, should I still use the slow or extra slow reducer? I’m painting in my garage with no heat.

Ask your paint supplier for the technical data sheet of the paint manufacturer. It will list the best level of reducer to use for their products. I know YATU doesn't allow fast reducer for 2k paint.

Brian, Ryan here from california. I waited all winter, now things have warmed up. I did the respray on my honda ridgeline yesterday. With your advice to slow down while spraying, and the rest I have learned. Base came out perfect. I like spraying front fenders off the car flat. The clear I sprayed after fourty minutes. It was darn near perfect until the last spray, little run. But ive learned to watch the dry spots and hit them agian quickly keep it flowing. One bad thing, for me, YOu have to have alot of light to see. My vision up close has failed, but a bit back its 18/18 weird. Cateracks im told. Anyway , came out awesome just one little run. Thank you for all your help. Now I have four more little spots and one blend bhind rear door down then over the fender. !Have a great weekend. I did find you, but I wont bug you when your working.

Hello! Thanks! Too many good videos. Could you please make a Video where you show how to paint a screen with Solid paint, after repairing a small damage to the screen. With metallic paint, you can put a base color over the damage and mist out a little around the damage. But not all the way to the end of the screen. Then put Clear Coat over the entire screen. And then there won't be any color difference compared to the next Door. But how do I do a job like this with Solid color? Thanks! From Tommy Bertilsson from Sweden

Brian do you know why the online paint stores don’t sell sealer? What do you think of spray bomb sealer like Duplicolor . My local Napa sells paint the guy ask me why do I need sealer just put another coat of base on. I would think with the base being 2-1 the reducer content would be more likely to cause edging on burn through areas.
@Finny869
@Finny869 Ай бұрын
@@timhudson8958 Sealer is just a super reduced primer. It isn't for covering up metal or anything less then 320 grit sanding scratches. The sealer will make for a very very flat surface for your base. Make sure you have a whole afternoon set aside to paint. You need to get your base on within a small window (a couple to a few hours). If not, you need to scuff up your sealer with 400 (red brillow pad) before you base.
