Nice. I already have a festool ts55, but I also have some m18 HO 6.0 batteries, and the bare tool is very affordably priced... I may end up with one as a second tracksaw if it ends up being part of the buy more save more sales later on.

This saw kzfaq.infoUgkx84IcU5pbZd1Qrz8u4-YRLmJax7kdRi7B comes in handy in many ways. When I had a small (dead) tree fall I started the process of disposal by using this saw and cutting off the small branches. Then slowly work on the small trunk with undercutting and letting it fall down. With many trees on acres of land paying for a tree service can be expensive. It also is nice in that it can be used in hard to get areas like along my creek. It's also safer and quieter than a chainsaw. It obviously can't cut down massive trees but it does work fine for small ones or brush. And of course since I already own a Black

Good indepth review, just got the one question. Does the milwaukee track saw have an anti kickback feature. Where the blade will stop if the saw lifts up from the track. I am sure I have seen this feature on one of the other brands. I am in the market for a track saw and will certainly be considering this one. I have just purchased the dewalt dws 780 mytre saw, the reviews you did on that model certainly help me out when choosing what mytre saw to go for. So far I love it just need to upgrade to the blade that ot came with. A big thanks for the indepth info you have given on the dws 780.

Hey John. The saw looks like it does what its supposed to. I took a look at Festool and they have packages that include tracks, obviously at a higher price point. It would be good to see your opinion of the saw after you've used it with the tracks you ordered. Maybe you can do a price comparison of saws with the same setup to see what that best bargain is assuming quality is at least close. Thanks for the introduction.
@JohnBuildsIt

The Milwaukee is $140 cheaper compared to the cordless Festool for this same type of kit - saw, box, charger, battery, blade. Looks like they have several different kit options you can get with tracks too. From what I’m seeing, comparing apples to apples with what’s included, the Milwaukee is running $110-150 less on all the options
@ericmann1781
@ericmann1781 Жыл бұрын
I can't wait to see all the comparisons too. Just bought into Makita's XGT line late 2021 specifically for their 40v track saw and 8 1/2" sliding miter, a bit bummed since I had to invest in yet another battery platform but I prefer their leaf blower and love the air duster. I love how this comes with a packout box with nice foam molding compared to Makita's cheap plastic mold and there's at least have the option of carrying some batteries + charger if you bring it somewhere.
@chrisdemeglio6707
@chrisdemeglio6707 Жыл бұрын
@@ericmann1781 I think it's going to be compared to the Festool track saw as they are the standard pretty much these days. Every maker starts out with other brands and then feel they have to explain why you now see them with Festool tools. If Milwaukee can perform good with this setup, saving the $150-$200 is going to be the decision if its worth going with Milwaukee instead of Festool.

Everyone is comparing to Festool… what about Makita, DeWalt and Bosch?
@chrisdemeglio6707
@chrisdemeglio6707 Жыл бұрын
@@michaelshelnutt3534 I agree with you. I have many Bosch tools as well as Milwaukee. I used to have only Dewalt drills, saws, etc. I changed to Milwaukee because I liked how rugged they were and I thought they did a great job at a lower price point. The issue currently is, you see someone who builds and uses a Triton, Makita, Dewalt or a brand other than Festool, they don't make a bid deal out of it. But as soon as they get that Festool piece of equipment, they are sure to mention it. Tamar from 3x3 Customs just referenced her "brand new amazing Festool chop saw". Makers who used dowels or some other kind of loose tenon joinery all of a sudden show up with a Festool domino and you can bet your bottom dollar they showcase it on a project. But then they apologize for having such an expensive piece of equipment by saying this can be done other ways not using dominos!! Whatever Festool has done with it's marketing is amazing. Their tools ARE excellent and many of them are better than what's out there. But you have to mortgage your house to buy them! But while I agree with what you are saying, a company needs to come up with a piece of equipment that is better than Festool, hands down. When this happens, maybe then will it start to change.

@@JohnBuildsIt I'm a General Contractor and had one project a few years back where I needed a track saw, so I bought he Grizzly Track saw (It was cheap & I really didn't want to spend the money to buy a Festool because I didn't anticipate having much need for the tool after that project). It has a 6-1/4" blade. Funny thing is, Since I got it, I've found many uses for it and now wish I had bought a more expensive (higher quality) saw. The last few years, I've been switching out my cordless tools to Milwaukee & am thinking about the Milwaukee Track Saw. I wonder if it will work with my Grizzly tracks.

Wish Milwaukee had thought through the case. I don’t carry a charger for every tool. Truthfully I have a battery charger and battery case in the van. Ideally a much smaller case holding the: (1) track saw (2) all blades available (at least 4 slots) (3) all saw accessories that attach to the saw (4) instruction manual holder that is sealed until needed. I pretty confident Milwaukee could have made a much smaller case that would have truly set this saw apart from the competition.

There are two more adjustments you can make on the base that will eliminate the need to replace the black strips and enable bevellomg perfection depending on what track you are using i.e. Festool Makita etc.

I have had an TSC55 for going on 4 years now, and sure it cuts great, but festool batteries suck. I've had to replace 4 of them so far. They keep dying on me for some reason. And I'm really not a fan of having to use 2 batteries. I use milwaukee and the makita 40v platform as well. The makita saws cut better hands down, although I've never used their track saw. I'm entertaining the idea of getting rid of the festool TS and getting a makita TS to replace it....or maybe the milwaukee, but I like makita saws more.

@@Kevin-mp5of it's the festool batteries that suck. After just over 3 years, I've had to replace 4 5.2amp batteries. At $135 a piece, it's starting to get old. Guess what ones I've had ZERO issues with, my milwaukee and makita batteries, still going strong with not one yet returned. A tool is only good if it works. I wish they had updated the festool saw to have a few features of the makita. A single battery is what is attracting me to the makita track saw, considering I already have 40v tools and batteries, along with plenty of festool tracks to go with.

So I knew it was coming but they hadn’t set a release date when I purchased mine. I had some projects I wanted to use it on, and got the Makita at a good price. A couple comments. One, Milwaukee apparently thinks they are Festool with the pricing for this saw. I knew it would be pricey, but come on. Two, when it comes to rails, buy third party. Milwaukee for some reason made the short tracks way too short, and the costs of the complete track system is again, too pricey. If you need a good, but less expensive track saw, get the Makita. If you want the gold standard, buy Festool. If you want to add to Milwaukee's profit, buy this one. And that's coming from me, someone who owns a complete line of Milwaukee cordless tools.

I understood that Festool is not that pricey once began to compare with another brands. If you compare with something with the same features and quality, it is almost the same price o even less. Most important - Festool is a complete system, and you don't have to spend $$$ on all the adapters.
