The 6200 is a great workhorse and very manoeuvrable due to its short chassis. These machines are bombproof and it’ll give you years of work yet. 👍

The people I worked for at the time had a ford 5030 and 7740 full time fencing 5030 was brilliant 7740 was OK then got back to the yard one night and a demo 6210se was on the yard local jd dealer had just dropped it off having never dealt with them before it had 100hrs on and came with a quickie 940 loader on a 52 plate it went 3 years later with 3500 hrs on it only ever being on a post knocker. They still run john deeres today . Since setting up on my own I run a massey ferguson 3070 with massey 905 loader fencing been a very good tractor for me but I still would love a jd 6210. Hope yours is as good to you

Had one six years good tractor. 62 and 63 had the smaller stroke engine so I wouldn't be tempted to give it more power. Strongly recommend using JD transmission oil and their coolant definitely no water at all. Problems with it were back end oil getting creamy. Apparently not enough work in winter ie warming the oil to burn of the moisture in it. This can harm your power quad. Also sticky brakes small springs in the brakes can fail.

Best of luck Declan !! Well rare!! Good choice very reliable tractor had 97 6100 and 00 6210. Look after it it look after you. A quicke q45 would fit no bother actually nicer loader than the Deere loader just my opinion. Best of luck! Also with the turbo just let her wind down revs before shutting down to save turbo cool off basically. Dont force pick up lever have lift arms fully up pick up extension in fully. Neutralizing hydraulic levers before cold start frosty mornings dont over heat heat switch 8 secs is enough

It might be 2 years older than the case but she’s twice the tractor comfort wise and the 40k box

We have a 6200 with front loader and they are fairly simple, pleasant machines and they are 60 something hp to pto stock and 83 ish engine hp

When changing gears 1- 4, the clutch isn’t needed but it is needed for the ranges A,B,C & D. A lot of people don’t realise this and use the clutch on all gears. Recommend using John Deere oil also

Our case 4230 isnt too bad on fuel but we had a lot of the engine done so maybe that made it a bit more economical.

Ya great machine well ware, we have one 12 years now with a loader, about 85 hp but can out pull a 130 landini on hills, no power quad in ours though, don't sit on the brakes too much, let her come back on the revs first or you'll end up having to do the back end....

Well wear! Had a 2wd, grease point inside a spring for push out hitch, easily missed and can be a bit of a pain to free. Great tractor overall, 89 hp i think

You won't regret buying mitas /continental AC70T in your current 520 70 r34 and 420 70 r24 size. We have them on a valtra a95 from New. 500hrs still a good 60%.best gripping tyres we have ever used. Not too dear. RD tyres in Fermanagh will do a very good price on them. We also bought them new for a mf 4360 in the 38 size and they are fantastic too. Make sure its the AC70T version as they have the very large lug. The ac65 are useless. We had them on another valtra. No grip.

For the power quad gears don’t go from 4 all the way down to 1 go from 4 to 3 and 3 to 2 and 2 to 1 and same up

I have a 6200, I love the tractor but the lifts give me some bother, never met a mechanic yet that knows what might be wrong with it but that doesn't put me off the tractor, enjoy and hope you have many happy hours in it !!.

If you are going putting a front loader on that tractor MAKE SURE the chassis’s of the front loader go to the BACK AXLE

I had a John Deere 6200 and it was very light on Diesel

Any of the 4 cyl 6000, 10,20, 30 series loaders will fit that tractor. It’s worth bearing in mind that you have the manual clutch shuttle in that tractor not the power shuttle. People often get mixed up between the two the way to tell is the right hand power shuttle has park lock on the same leaver as the forward neutral and reverse.

Good luck with the tractor Dec! You know I bleed red so I can’t give an opinion 😁. A tractor is a major decision. Did you look at the MF 6100 series? I love my 6180.
