Thanks for uploading this. I would have never considered tracking this on a trailer. As I have commented before, I watch each and every one of your uploads as I am researching in preparation for going into hot shot on my own. This has been a big help

Thank you Paul. I appreciate these videos. This is the second time I’ve heard that the equalizer needs to be greased. My trailer is four months old and about 50,000 miles when should I grease the equalizer? Also I saw the sticker on my 15 ram saying to Grease that driveshaft that you showed us the other day but I didn’t see a grease fitting and my shop told me not to worry about it… So I’m glad you made that video also.

Thanks for your insight and videos Paul. I was noticing on the spring shackles that they were just two sides to it. Do you ever box those in for extra strength or have you ever had any issues with them? I have a buddy that's hot shots and he has a rice brand trailer and he's had serious suspension problems with that and one of his spring shackles broke just after getting off the interstate causing the trailer to collapse down on the tires. Could have been tragic had it happened at highway speeds.

Brand new PJ, drove 3 miles from the dealer and the tail light fell out. They cut the hole too big in the frame and the light won't stay in.

Good info Paul. You hit every bullshit thing regarding these big Tex imo. I’ve been cutting those butt connections out and soldering in a joint with heat shrink on these new ones. For oil bath hubs I like dumping the oil after the first few thousand miles, you’ll usually find a wheel bearing that needs snug along the way. Descent trailers for how there priced vs PJ regardless.

i was about to buy a PJ instead of the big tex due to stock availability. quick look at the pj and i went right back to the big tex dealer and had them order me what i was looking for. really no comparison to a big tex

bought a new big Tex two months ago (14gn 36ft) with the black wheels. put 14ply tires on from les swab, mount and balance. Tires needed rebalanced 2000 miles later then a tire went bang. turns to find out the rims are bending. tire shop told the driver to go buy some old ford rims and paint them. Big Tex also didn't weld the latch to the back ramp door and it broke off

You and your salesperson go do a thorough walk around that brand new trailer (toy) and get stuff that is wrong straightened out right then and there. This way the salesperson sees the issue and will understand why you are refusing delivery.

Sort story I bought a brand new lamer gooseneck last year (I will never buy there products again) it’s a good trailer pulls great going down the road an the brakes will put you through the windshield .but I never check under the trailer when I bought at the dealer now it’s present time the trailer is rusty looks like a kid with a glue gun did the wiring an the jacks are stupid slow when lowering landing gear plus they told me there was a spare tire included with the purchase never got that spare tire they told me they had to order me a tire they didn’t have the right size in the shop I called an called never seem to get the right person or some shitty excuse also i contacted the dealer about that trailer they blatantly told me it’s not their problem anymore ...great products lamer sells yea right bullshit

Word of Advise to HotShot Trailers: Maximum Length of Truck and Trailer is 65ft Bumper to Bumper. I purchased a 2019 PJ Trailer 40ft and Whoops with my 18 Ram Dually 4 Door Long Bed truck Combined Length is 67 Feet. Big Tex Trailers are Factory Shortened on the Gooseneck to Compensate for This Length Problem. Now I have to Regrister my Truck as a Tractor and Remove the Bed to Conform to Federal Laws. FYI: Big Tex has got you covered beware and Measure before you buy Other Brand Trailer-Do Your Home Work.

Does bj or big Tex offer a goose neck trailer made out of aluminum. If so how much more would it be. Do you know the maxunum lol can get.

I think you mean pj and neither have an official aluminum trailer that i know of under their name, all these trailer companys are owned by eachother. The aluminum does not save thousands of pounds, the only reason to get aluminum is if you get snow like Alaska or are next to salt water. Aluminum trailers are so expensive compared to steel, but who cares money is money

That sir is probably one of the best trailers money can buy. I was wondering if I would be able to tow one of these using a 3500 dually megacab? Would having the shorter bed make a huge difference?

Go PJ trailers !!!! Way better built. Only problem with my new 30 ft pj was a broken screw holding deck board down. Better than wiring going bad on brakes !!! That’s never a good time when freighted. Good video. People should check these things

I got the same pj 30' with tandom dually. I do agree very well built but very heavy. I guess in my opinion I'd rather have heavy built for the places and things I hual. Sucks butt when empty and trying to save some fuel though!

I bought a 2017 model 7 by 14 14000 lb dump trailer from PJ. my 2006 7 x 12 10000 lb PJ Trailer was built very well. on the new PJ Trailer wires were pinched between the frame and dump body. no grommet around the break away wires in the front battery pump box. the seam in the middle of the bed is off 1/8 of an inch over 50% of the 14 ft length. quarter inch Gap at the bottom of the rear dump tailgate causing sand to fall out the crack. rear swing away Gates do not go flush to the body like on the 2010 trailer. welds on a good portion of the trailer were very subpar. I had made modifications to this trailer soon after I brought it home otherwise I should have had taken it back to the dealer and found a PJ Trailer that did not have so many faults on it. it works well for what I'm using it for but I was very disappointed at the downturn in quality compared to my older PJ Trailer. the seam in the middle of the bed is the most bothersome as when I slide heavy equipment around in the bed it catches on the offset. they seem like a well-built trailer and good design I was just disappointed in the quality of build. before you put your money down look it over with a fine-tooth comb to make sure you're getting what you pay for. no excuse that the rear tailgate could not fit tight and that there be a quarter inch Gap after manufacture.
