I actually met Tomska (creator of asdf movie) at comicon back in 2019! He's genuinely the sweetest and loveliest person. I got a video of him saying trans rights and then making fun of me for how I pronounced the word "trans" I love it so much :)

Okay, they clearly didn't know the reference, but then I doubt Stephen Hawking would have either. They do a lot of dumb stuff in videos but not getting a reference has nothing to do with how smart or stupid you are.
