Good review. Saving up some Pennie’s for one of these. I have a backcountry ti, first gen in 6.5-300. They’re Amazing rifles that’s for sure.

I’m thinking about the 338 RPM. I HAVE A 33806 A I. BALISTICLY VERY CLOSE. I t weighs 6.7 pounds ready to hunt. Only drawback is that I have to produce my own ammo. This is one beautiful rig.

IMHO the best rifle on the market...if the screws bother you just change them out....I do...what I really wish is you could get them in regular calibers like 30.06

100%! Not too fond of weatherby cartridges, needs to have like 308,7mm08,280 ai,30-06,270, 7mm rem mag, maybe even 22-250

Weatherby is a family company that hasn't ben sold. Props to them. All others..... have been sold an had to stoop to that level. Weatherby does not. That's the mark of a financially stable company. Applaud them.

They did offer in standard calibers up to their move to Sheridan and the re-design of the Mark V line. I have an older (bought in 2000) Mark V stainless steel in .30-06.

You forgot to talk about the recoil pad it's a special lightweight pad that absorbs a lot of recoil

Im in the market for a new rifle Ive narrowed my choices down to a Weatherby Mark V backcountry and the Christensen arms Ridgeline any reason to choose one over the other?

I want this in 6.5/300 - fastest bullet in 6.5 ever made. My son bought the vanguard edition 6.5/300 and that barrel is made in Japan (howa) and is sub MOA at 100 yds and online threads say this barrell is more accurate than barrels on the Mark V

@@Bullets4Bucks what I am asking is do you think it has enough weight to make using that rifle in that caliber effective. For example, my savage high country is just heavy enough to make the 300 win mag an enjoyable shooting rifle and to hunt with and handles well. yes, it is a little heavy, maybe 11lbs with scope.

@@acevent5759 I would guess you wouldn't want to shoot it more than 5 or 10 times if it were 300wby. A lot of that is personal preference and recoil tolerance. For a hunting rifle I think it would be fine but certainly not for a long range outing.
