Thanks for the original review and this update! Picked up some hunter green Lomax's after seeing your first video and they changed the way I skated and how fun skating was for me to learn instantly. I even found a brand new pair of 2019 white Aeon 60 team XIX on eBay about 2 weeks later and picked them up too! Since my feet are a little wide these are perfect where m12s and narrower skates hurt my feet really bad by the time I am warmed up.

The first thing I did with these skates was to remove those metal hooks for the laces because they were going to snag on things. Instead, I tie a heal lock with the laces through the upper two eyelets. It's fast to tie and it's plenty tight. I've done that with the laces on the liners too.

Looking forward to the farmer sway video. Got those when I jumped back in. After taking the heel lift and all the plastic junk out of the crown liner I loved them. I got the Black sway 60 and another crown liner. Noticed a reworked backslide groove different from the farmers. Would be cool to hear your comparison between sway and aeon. I wonder why the Aeon soulplate does not have divets like the Sway.🤔

I concur about the negatives. Never been interested in those before riding the aeons and know I love them. With time I was able to transfer my skills to the m12 which are probably the worst for negatives but their soul plates are so much faster. But I keep getting back to the aeons to try new things.

Fantastic review! You were spot on with everything on the Aeons which echoed my own experiences. I choose Aeons because they are the most comfortable skate i’ve ever had and i’ve had literally every make and model over the years. Can skate all day no issues and i love doing negatives 😄 totally get what you say about the H block being real shallow. That has crushed my confidence on rails, so many times i have jumped on and slipped out of the groove and hit the 3rd or 4th wheels and taken a slam so i tend not to skate rails anymore whereas on my gawds fm2’s they were massively confidence inspiring with the awesome usd 7 soul and the fluid 4’s with the deep h block grooves. I’ve tried a few different flat wheel set ups with 58mm Dead and 50/50 wheels but i just skate them anti rocker these days with zero issues. Blasphemy i know but be it 😄

I came across two main issues with my XXI 60 Aeons: the cuff bolts came loose and the soul plates did slow down. Luckily, the solutions are simple. I ended up picking up fruit tech hardware which made a big difference (the bolts + loctite). I took some pointers from Corey English and cleaned the frames and soul plates (primarily removing the built up wax). I skated later that day, and it was like butter. So I think if you keep up with keeping the blades fresh, there shouldn't be much reduction in speed. Side note - my best friend and I used to take lessons from Fritz at Eisenbergs way back in the day. Love seeing the Carriers exposure.

I owned a pair of USD Bladies, I liked the idea that they looked like salomons and has a quirky full boot thing. They where the first time I skated flats ever (rockers for me), and the first time skating again after 5 years ish. They rolled nice and fast, grinding was smooth, and grove tricks where good too, even though the H-Block was a little high. At first they felt comfy if not a little stiff even after molding the liner but after a 30 to 1 hour skate it was very apparent that they where just too painful to skate but I continued. At first I though it was the liner but soon noticed it was the height of the lace area being very low which rubbed my food and the cuff size rubbing my ankles. The liner wasn't the issue as I placed them in my salomon skates and they are pretty good, if not a bit basic. Not only this I could feel the vibration so bad skating street and bolts went missing. It has really put me off getting another pair, even though just look like salomon, very light, but have a permi frame. Despite this as many other really like them I think they could be a 10/10 skate if they let the skater replace the frame to what they wanted.

Another cool video dude, thanks. I am riding the same skates...I share your thoughts on the stock wheels. They are fine but flat ledges are so hit and miss..100% accuracy required at all times which just isn't always possible. I changed them out to the Richie Eisler Looney Zooms...59mm 90a bullet profile. It is almost impossible to get wheel bite now, they are a revelation. Plus the profile makes them super responsive for tight wiggly turns...bowl riding is ace. The lace hooks on mine bent too...I bent them back but found once they have been bent they will just keep re-bending. I have removed them altogether and now just lace through the hole in the shell. It works just as well. 👍

@iRollerboot no worries mate. I think most people overlook the profile in favour of just getting smaller, harder wheels. The difference in H-block vs soles is the surface area. I won't be responsible for what you do, but personally, I would take a Dremel, and make some ridges or countersink holes to reduce that amount of plastic making contact. It's a free fix, but you can also screw it up if you aren't careful.

A lot of people say they experience wheel bite with Aeons but I rarely ever get it with my Abrate's which have 68 mm wheels on a 72 shell. The wheels they come with have a bullet profile which helps a lot, but I wonder if the fact that the wheels are smaller than what the frame was designed for helps avoid wheel bite.

Interesting! I’m not sure. I personally think there is a mental aspect to it too that I’ve personally noticed. Like cults have pretty small souls, relatively speaking. I have to ask, what size cult boots did you wear? I went back to 8-9 cults after using 8-9 aeon for years but they were getting to tight but I know 10-10.5 would be to roomy for my 9.5 shoe size. As I’ve heard you mention your around a size 10 and your saying the aeons are too roomy ?! So jw what size cults you had
@iRollerboot
@iRollerboot 2 жыл бұрын
Funny you should ask. The black cults I skated (towards the beginning of this channel) were 10/11, with stock liner. The white cults are 8/9 with the myfit liner, I prefer those. Snug, for sure, but much more natural feeling.
@noragrettispaghetti

i'm bummed because the Aeon has been the biggest innovation, bigger even, than the Xsjado. i've never had so much fun skating than in Aeons, except for the damned wheel bite. What's worse is that USD could have easily solved that problem by making the sidewalls 2 mm thiccer on each side. Anyway the secret to solving wheel bite is to ride 55 mm flat, dead serious. Sure you might have to get a new set of 8 wheels every 3 months but that's a small price to pay for perfection lmao
