It was more than "alleged" there are videos of people shouting "He's on the roof!" and pointing at him, and telling an officer about him. People are SO terrified of getting sued for saying anything that might come back to bite them, that everything is "alleged" these days, even when it's conclusive that the "alleged" thing is FACTUAL!

Not only was there a failure to cover all potential sniper points before and during the event, but the Secret Service agents seemed to actively allow Trump to still be a target on stage. Correct me if I'm wrong, but normal procedure on shots being heard is to cover the target, keep the target low, and get them away fast. When none of the close protection team were taller than Trump (and some were significantly shorter), they were starting from a losing position. Security was either complacent, incompetent or the Secret Service were complicit. RIP the person in the crowd who lost their life.

This started in D.C. by someone with cash. The assassin was killed so he couldn't talk. Their are two Secret Service snipers on one roof instead of one of them on the roof where the shooter was. This is so much like the JFK assassination. I agree that there were two many agents around Trump, there should have only been three. I worked with the Secret Service when I was stationed at Andrews AFB. I was the lead escort when the President, VP and world leaders come on base to board their aircraft. I know the Secret Service has agents everywhere from near the president to in the press pit and with the crowd. I worked two of President Reagan's vacations in Santa Barbara guarding AF-1 at PT Magu and the Secret Service would show me were they had snipers hidden near the plane. Another problem here is some of these agents are not Secret Service people, they are Treasury Dept people who volunteered for this day.

I was in local law enforcement in the US. Retired. I just want to say that radio communication is a huge issue. Even with my various departments, speaking directly to the next jurisdiction was not possible. Also impossible with the state police who patrolled thru all areas. Speaking to the feds didn't even cross our minds. Anyway, some officers paid for scanners or radios out of their pocket --and with radios, it had to be done on the down low because of FCC regulations about transmitting, department policy, etc. I seriously doubt that those local cops could speak in any way to the Secret Service.

The Secret Service has their own procedures that the Presidents are not part of. The SS handbook says that building location should have been considered a threat but it appears the SS didn’t sweep it nor did they task local law enforcement to guard it. US citizen here. There are multiple videos of the people trying to tell any law enforcement about what they ALL see as the guy is getting himself up and on the roof. Screams can be heard also telling them. Unfortunately no one acted immediately. One police officer soon did climb a ladder and see the sniper but it's reported by multiple agencies that when the guy saw him, maybe turned weapon to him, he either willing retreated or "fell down". We don't know if he had communicated with others of the sniper. Reports are seconds after this encounter he fired shots hitting multiple people, killing one man, critically injuring two others. There are reports of at least two others hit but receiving less serious injuries. One report is from a senator whose son was injured. In the US the Secret Service is no longer comprised of "the best and brightest." For over 15 YEARS that isn't the criteria used. It became more important to have racial diversity, more females, etc., thereby saying your ability is no longer most important but do you fill our new objectives. An attendee said an earlier rally they attended had 1-2 Secret Service on each roof. That obviously was not done here and all responsible citizens want to know why, however we already know. Incompetence!!😮

Questions I have: Video stills show the shooter with long hair. If he works as a dietary aide at a nursing home, was he allowed to have long hair? How did he approach the building with a rifle in his hands with a crowd milling about in the vicinity? His car was parked quite far away which meant he had to walk with it to the building. Unseen by anyone with an AR slung over his shoulder??. Did people see him at work on Friday? What was his mood, if so? Did he have appointments, dates planned?

I think Secret Service is first and foremost a myth. They are not as good, as they want us to believe. We all remember how a guy jumped The White House fence and got inside The White House, because agents forgot to lock the door.
