This was our first mashup: Moiraine's introduction, but instead we placed Rosamund's voice over portions of the Bonus Content about the Breaking of the World. We think this adds much more dramatic, clarifying context to her words. Let us know what you think!

What do you think? Go back and watch the introduction with Moiraine getting dressed, and tell us if this hits better or not. We are still tweaking things, but we liked using The Breaking of the World as the underlying visual to her words.

This is many times better. They should have done something like this, I get that actually making a CG visual for Dragonmount is super spendy, so even just his kind of animation that they did for the bonus content suffices. And it doesn't have to be as long as the actual prologue with Moiraine narrating.

I think people would have different opinions... I like them both, but in different ways. I think if this was the beginning, they'd need to have a teensy bit of animated goodness in the middle, or like when Moiraine tells the story of Manetheren. Like, a cut in, cut out kind of thing, where she begins to tell the story, v it fades into this style, fade out onto Moiraine again, and back again, then back to Moiraine.

You forgot to fix the gaping plot hole about the Dragon being reborn as a man, which Moiraine knew from the moment the prophecy was uttered. You could have fixed that detail.

far better! Ihope the show runners change it, the first time I saw the animated short I thought THAT is how they should have started the show! Thanks for all you do Dusty Wheel!

It hit me the same way, as did what you'll see as our cold open. Taylor made some interesting choices that I think will be fun to get feedback on.

@@TheDustyWheel looking forward to it! (one of the few things these days), The show missed on the danger and negative aspect of the dragon in a big way. SO many things I loved about the show but an nearly equal amount of things that drive me crazy.

I love this! It puts more weight to Moiraine's words and I think would help draw new viewers into the world faster.

It's on the right track. I think that it's trying too hard to be literal, so when the clips are showing the opposite of the VO it doesn't quite work for me.

Here I was thinking, damn I missed the Dusty Wheel show yesterday, only to find out there wasnt one, thus breaking my heart like one of the Seals on the Dark One's prison. I now get teased by this beautifully done piece of work. Stop playing with my emotions, Inkeeper and Editor! I cant wait to see more Dusty Wheel Cuts.

Glad you enjoyed it! We've finished our initial rough cut of Episode 1, though we have a lot of work to do there still, as we will likely add a few things, play with order, etc. We'll keep releasing little cuts like this.

I got chills when LTT forms the Dragonmount, then again when the cloak slides over Ilyena's face! Well done!

I miss the amazing shot from the animated short with the blade. The sane eyes and then the crazy eyes. I think that shot is the best in the shorts and maybe even the series as a whole.

We liked those, too. Rosamund's speech doesn't make great space for it, but we'll continue to play with those clips and see if we can make it more compelling.

I like it! My only minor concern is the part with Ilyena, seems too sinister/not enough context has been given yet to know who she is and how/why she died, or why they are showing her while talking about the Dragon.

We may try a variation that cuts back to the Aes Sedai instead of that, though I like that it makes the viewer beg some questions, while adding a darkness to what is being described.

I love this, but Moiraine getting dressed was cool too. It doesn't sound like it in words, but you know what I mean! I do like this better, but I don't think it would fit in with live action.

This looks "exquisite" ;) The Moiraine part is not even comparable with this as that was not memorable at all. Looking at this, again it feels like an epic animation was what we really needed.

Better than the original, in all haste some observations: 0:19 Breaking of the world: excellent timing 0:24 Women of the Aes Sedai: kind of expected to see some 0:32-0:37 Dragon: expected to see him not Ilyena (or him to be called Kinslayer) 0:43 voice over and pictures doesn't match

I really like the historical scenes when the voice-over talks about the breaking of the world. I wonder how it would look to switch over to Moiraine getting ready for travel when the voice-over moves to, Now the Dragon has been reborn... to bring in the element of Moiraine and Lan searching for the Dragon Reborn. Not sure how the juxtaposition of the animated and live shots would work though.

Well done, hopefully Rafe sees this and get some ideas about how to add a little grit to the show. I love the screen story so far (for the most part) and my only real gripe is its atmosphere and costumes are a bit too "clean" for how the story evolves over the course of the novels. Imagine the difference between the first Batman movie with Micheal Keaton in comparison to The Dark Knight or better yet The Batman, TWoT on screen would benefit from a darker lens like this intro.

Well done. Except I do not think it would work as a good cold opening for the show. You do not want to start a live action show with a animated scene.

I thought the same, but then I saw a comment talking about a swish of Moiranes' cloak going over the scene to make the transition to live action. Think about it for a moment. Also, I am still a fan of both this and Moiranes live action opening.

Still don't like the commentary that blames men for "arrogance in trying to cage darkness itself". The war against the dark was being lost and it was a last-ditch effort to try to reseal the prison, which worked but had horrible, UNFORSEEN consequences. Still hate blaming male channelers for their decision.

Well that's how an aes sedai would see it 3000 years later. And it's very true to the concept of the books. That's the core concept: men committed the original sin.

@@csarmii the original sin was boring into the Dark Ones' prison and I believe both men and women were involved in that, especially Lanfear. But I get that maybe that part isn't remembered at this point. Still don't like it.

I hope they cancel the show. It looks like a fan made KZfaq series. Ex. All of there clothes are perfectly clean(even though they wear the same thing every day) because that's all of the wardrobe they have. Loial looks like some 5th grade school project. The whole thing reeks of a high school play in the woods
