New Wing Tips with LED Landing Lights + Pulse Light System

We replaced our original wingtips with Knots2U wingtips with LED lights. We rewired our pulse light system to allow wig-wag, simultanous and steady. This was a test flight to see how they look and how they increase the ability to see our airplane. The video is a little blurry in places as we learn how not to use the autofocus.

Btflync, I seen a plane early this morning Oct 9th 2019 leaving Yeager airport (Charleston WV. ) The outside lights were slow pulse not wigwag. I was curious if it was you? If it was I wanted to let you know it looked really good and the lights are seen from behind as well...

I would be interested in knowing what pulse supply you used and if I understand correctly you had the switch made up correct?

Phoenix Design & Drafting - it’s a precise flight pulselite controller. The switch panel was created to enable the features we were looking for. We wanted the landing light to be on / off by the factory switch. The wingtip lights are controlled by the new panel: off/on/pulse if pulse, fast/slow, alternating/simultaneous options. Those switches tie to inputs on the pulselite.

I am considering purchasing the upswept for my arrow II. Do you think its worth the money? Also it looks like you went with the LED vs old school. Thoughts on the difference as the cost is rather substantial. Thanks

On the question of is it worth the money, that will be up to each person to determine. I can tell you that those LED lights are significantly more visible than the old lights. Since we needed to replace the wingtips due to the cracks developing, it made sense to put in the LED at the same time.

trying to install a skybeacon on this wingtip on my Arrow. I keep attempting to unscrew the position light baseplate screws, they turn but don't seem to back out. Does this wingtip have to be removed from the wing in order to remove the position light hardware from the inside? I see install videos all the time on the skybeacon, and these position lights unscrew right off. Not sure why it's not working on the K2U wingtip.

We can’t provide any direction on this question. We had our A&P take care of the installation.
