In xLights 2021.16 I added WLED upload support. Also supported is the brightness, color order, null pixels and direction controller settings. My website: scottnation.com/

Thanks Scott, This really helped me out. I messed with this for a long time and I was about to give up, and then I found this.

Scott, thanks for the great content, and for your hard work on this implementation! Can you give me your opinion on if there are any disadvantages to using the QuinLED-Dig boards, vs. the big name controllers? I haven't ordered any equipment yet, but have had my design close to complete for over a year (on my house). The original design was with 1 Falcon F16 v4 and (2) differential receiver boards. I expect about 5k pixels for the original design, roof line, windows, porch pillars, garage, and mega tree. Basically what I'm wondering is, with all that has changed in the last 18 months...can the QuinLED-Dig-Quad's handle this or am I better off sticking with a Falcon or Kulp? Thank you for your advice!

I noticed you assigned a static IP address. I found I had some lag when I did that so I changed it to multicast in xlights and in the DMX network area of Wled.

Scott, I am using UCS2904 RGBW pucks for my trim. I have them set as SK6812 RGBW inside WLED. Since there is no drop down version for this LED inside xLights models, I’ve been using WS2811 RGBW but every time I try to upload to WLED it changes the LED type to WS2811. Thoughts other than manually updating WLED?

How does the brightness control work? Is it set in xLights or WLED? Currently, when I switch from WLED effects to xLights E131, it seems the brightness limiter in WLED is ignored.

Hi Scott, great video! I have followed your steps but when trying to upload from xLights, an error at the bottom left say's 'WLED Output Upload Failed, Unable to connect. There is a dot next to delete button and turns green when xLights is connected to the controller but still wont work. I have a string already set up in layouts but still no luck.. I can use WLED as normal but wont seem to output from xLights, any help would be fantastic!

Hi, Trying to make 16 strings mega tree using 4 Dig-Quad WLEDs, able to add all of them on Controllers but not sure how to setup, sync and visualize
@computergeek15072 жыл бұрын
The xLights visualizer doesn't support one model across multiple controllers. You have to manually set the start channels for each tree string

what controller are you using and are you using it with raspberry pie FPP
@computergeek15073 жыл бұрын
For the demo I am using an ESP32-POE development board with a custom breakout I made. I have not used it with FPP.

Does anyone know why when I try to connect my falcon controller to wled it just says error? Thanks

After setting up multiple lines and polylines as WS2815 protocol in the Layout tab, every time I add a Quinn dig quad in the Controllers tab, it automatically converts the last ws2815 led line (or polyline) created into ws2811 protocol, one for each controller added. I can't change those lines back to WS2815 as all but 4 protocol options disappear, including the WS2815 option. When I delete the dig quad controllers from the controller tab, all normal protocol options return in the Layout tab. What's that about?

I'll look into it thanks

@@computergeek1507 Hi Scott, thanks so much for your work on this. Wondering if you have any ideas on Charlie's problem? I think I am having same problem as Charlie. Running xlights 2021.28 64-bit and WLED 2106302. When I add a WLED controller and select WLED or Dig-quad all the many protocol options for each model disappears (along with my setting of sk6812) and the models are defaulted to 'ws2811' with only 3 other options available (ws2801, lpd8806, and apa102) Thanks in advance!

@@mjannapureddy in WLED, WS2811 and WS2815 use the same protocol, in xLights just set it to WS2811, it doesn't matter to the controller

Is there any benefit to connecting 5 * 100 string to different pins on the WLED board rather than daisy chain 500 off the one pin?
@computergeek15072 жыл бұрын
500 Leds off one pin would draw lots of current and might blow a fuse.

@@computergeek1507 oh cool, even if theyre getting power elsewhere? Didn't know the data line had that much power draw!
@computergeek15072 жыл бұрын
@@tcoombesonline if you are using external power for the LEDs, it doesn't matter. The data doesn't really draw power, it's the LED power that makes a difference.

hello I can not find the build 2105110 could you please indicate the link of the file to download. thanks a lot
@@computergeek1507 Thanks for the reply. with version 0.13.0.b2 it does not go with xlights or rather it works, but I don't know why on 195 LEDs it only lights 170 the other 25 LEDs remain off. maybe it's a question of version or build? Thank you
