Hearing my beloved hammer be considered bottom of the barrel makes me appreciate learning it. Using its CC and some animation canceling has some good burst potential.

It's just another dudes opinion, my tier list is not the same and I have different criteria and play styles. Hammer may be S tier for you. Don't take other people's opinions as fact. You do you.

@@KommonCents_ your right, comrade. I don't take his opinion as the end all be all, that's why I used the word "considered". He has put more thought into it than I have, so it holds some weight, but I'm still doing well with the hammer, we'll enough to show that the gap between it and other weapons is not insurmountable.

Yeah. Hammer is definitely not bottom of the barrel. It's the only weapon I have seen where if you let them land a power attack and a knock down you are absolutely screwed. Unless they are a con build with heavy armor there is no chance they are gonna survive the 3 giant smacks they are about to take while knocked flat. I have instantly killed people with 8000+ life in medium armor. Anyone who isn't very tanky, you hit them with the rend, knock down, power attack animation cancel into the gavel double tap. Insane burst.

I feel the Firestaff is pretty well placed in B tier. It has high damage output. But several of the firestaff skills are buggy. Pillars sometimes go off at your feet without letting you aim the distance. Fireball will (often enough) go completely through your target, unless you aim for the ground where your target is at, making the last perk in it's tree a gamble. And the AoE was nerfed some time ago because people complained about Firemages coordinating AoE so the damage was reduced to almost nothing (even our burns do more damage than meteors? What?) I love my firestaff. It's a lot of fun to use. But hatchet users should take note and be pretty worried about any upcoming adjustments, if the Firestaff is anything to go by.

firestaff is so busted with the right spec, i am 1 v 3ing people using that and rapier. the fact of the matter is, attribute dumping and the maxed out weapon mastery is what is o.p and if you aren't taking the time to properly assess every weapon at max skill and effective attribute, you create a misleading list. I will bet 1k on a duel with anyone my level running ice gauntlet in the place of my staff. the evasions, light attack and fireball are just significant components of pvp gold.

@@Bathrobedwane Im lvl 36 using Fire staff and Rapier. Once u hit the 30% percent elemental intelligence buff with Fire staff.....its off to the races. I use Fireball/Pillar of fire and Burn out. It's become very powerful for me....then rapier with Fleche/Repose/Evade. Get the enemy to half health or more with a couple fire staff hits and then finish off with rapier.

Adding to that: incinerate often doesn't push enemies back and has almost no range. Ice gauntlet's storm ability somehow does more damage than meteor, and has a slowing effect on top. Flamethrower has so little range and damage that it's absolutely pointless. Musket's burning bullet does more burn damage than nearly all the fire staff burns combined. Our "ultimate" perks are absolute crap. Especially compared to something like the Hatchet. Shields for whatever reason are extremely effective against all our attacks. I understand meteor could be OP and should be controlled. But it sucks that the firestaff is so lackluster in aoe, ability power and residual damage when these should be what makes it good, not just outright min-max damage and heavy attacks. But i guess bugs are half the issue atm. It's still good, don't get me wrong and at around lvl 37, it's started finally proving its value. But considering it's a late-blooming weapon, i think it should be a little more powerful or have better niches rather than just high outright damage. Atleast burn damage should be higher rather than the typical 4-6% trickle and be added to every ability.

@@ergofiction5627 you are using terrible perks and abilities that is why, you need pillar of fire, and more importantly fireball and burnout. Fireball in pvp goes right under shields no problems, and they can only block pillar if you place it in front of them. You should be putting the dot perks on your light attack too and you should be hitting 1k or so at 150 intel with your light attacks Rolling is crucial, you will die if you cant roll or use burnout to get yourself away from sword and shield + gravity well. If you are dying to muskets trust me you are playing the game ass backwards, if you want to see a video of me 1v3 some kids with this exact build it is called “1v3ing stinkies in new world” by humungousdong.

The war hammer is an awesome weapon for pve. I heavy attack, stun, light attack, flat, double mighty gavel.

Lol listen i got a 370 war hammer that gives me 4% health back on kill plus i get health every time i use my skills. Also note the charge heavy attack has perks where it cant be stopped & reduces the skills cool down on hit lol so i do massive damage in dungeons.

can u tel lme what flatten means? is it the same as knockdown? because i know when an enemy has grit, you cannot knock them down. i dont think u can knock them down with they are blocking either. what does flatten mean?

Level 42 here, so in my experience I feel the hammer should be an A tier, the crowd control abilities it has pairs really well with following heavy attacks, I don’t use 1 tree on it as it limits its utility, I do a mixture of both to reap benefits from both trees. With the hammer I’ve been able to take down players 20 levels above me as well as monsters 5-12 levels above me. When I was lvl 24 I’ve taken down 45’s it all depends on the player I guess. I use this with heavy armor and a hatchet and put more points in strength and const. the Grit also helps landing heavy attacks

I've had a really great time with fire staff, and see it doing a good bit more damage than your footage! I've been rocking full int on attributes and gear, and can typically auto attack for 500-700 at level 25. Add some pillars of fire that can crit for 800-1000 and we're in business. Feels really strong for glass cannon & ranged pressure in fights.

Fire/Ice user here I hit 300 Int around 47-49 and wanna say if you've min maxed your gear and feats you're gonna see 2.5-3k crits just on a heavy attack. Definitely an A to S tier weapon if you can land your attacks and learn to combo well. Especially in PVP where you can 100 to 0 people if playing flawlessly

The biggest set back the rapier has is the shortest range out of any weapons you can be standing on someone and they can walk out of your hit box also 0 tracking unlike the greataxe which has absurdly broken tracking

Which makes no sense, because in reality a rapier is quite long, and everything about its treatises' play to the strength of its length.

Also with rapier the grace tree kind of forces you to spam evade and dodge constantly, don't get me wrong it works well but when fighting in cramped area it feels really awkward. I'll fall off bridges, ledges etc because of the momentum from rapier evade spam. I've been pairing rapier with spear - both are Dex weapons. I use the spear for crowd control when I have to fight multiple opponents and the rapier is for pumping out high single target damage on elite mobs and single targets.

I love the rapier, but it needs to be able to stagger, it needs a semi lock on when people try to evade (it's a light maneuverable weapon, people would adjust their stances to follow through with atleast one strike)

I really want a passive or something for the sword master tree that makes it where you have a slight damage buff if you're not using a shield. So then there is a ohs option that's still a little more aoe

Bow shines when you combine headshot abilities, distance + penetrating shot. Rain of arrows to slow and bleed and poison to demoralize your opponent. You will put yourself in danger tho if you don't switch it midfight but in general it's an awesome starter and finisher.

@@mattdrifts A high level mage can do 100 damage or more every 0.25 seconds with ice storm and if an enemy is below 50% HP they take an additional 10% more damage from all ally attacks. Now imagine 4 high int. mages doing ice storm on a mob of players. That's about 1600 damage a second and players below 50% health would take an extra 40% damage from other players, including other ice storms which would make the overall damage even higher

@@skyz6708 at 60 with 300 int myself. Me and my other company member put down 1 mil + in wars. The storm sits at around 300dmg per tick for us when they're pushing the point with a base of ~150 if it's just one.

I'm surprised I didn't see anyone mention Spear with War Hammer. Ridiculous CC potential. Much harder to dodge or block those heavy hammer hits when you get skewered with spear first. And in PVE it's not as high for raw DPS as some combos, but you have so much control over engagements it's almost silly. Good times!

Big problem with the combo is lack of mobility, though spear has leap thingy. That is why greataxe and Warhammer is the obvious better alternative

Warhammer is obviously not the best at dealing damage but you dont really need two weapons that are extremely good damage dealers because technically you can only use one at a time so if you use your secondary weapon more like a utility tool to buff up your main weapon the warhammer instantly becomes a lot better since it can stun people and break their armor making them take 15% more damage so you can delete them with your primary (also it scales with strength so its pretty good with the great axe)

Heavy attacks with warhammer also cause alot dmg and cannot be stopped. I am using this combo to annihilate even GA users: Wrecking ball -> Heavy attack during flatten (increased dmg for 2 sec) -> Mighty Gravel -> Heavy attack. And if target aint dead or tries to run then path of destiny stagger and lifestaff heavy hits. Cool thing in that combo is that you can start heavy attacks after using skill so fast that the target can't dodge before 2 hits (50% hp lost). And once I get the last point for the mighty gravel I can do even more damage on 3rd attack. Fun part is that usually when player sees his/her HP drop from 100% to 50% in less than 2 seconds while not being able to do anything, they usually double or triple dodge and try pop potion. In that case I can just stagger em and use wrecking and heavy while they can't do much. It takes much longer to kill players with axe and the skills are very easy to avoid and when they use that gravitation shit, you can just block until it's over.

I would disagree from a pvp standpoint. The great axe performs better as the utility tool. While the hammer is slower it misses alot of its cc chains making the utility a bit lessened but it has this wonderful trait of trading hits. Where you gain damage after taking damge and grit making an incredible double edge sword playstyle. Hammer burst damage is best in the game imo. You can absoloutly rock aggressive playstyles

@@grimsiight I guess "utility" is a bit of a generalized word. Greataxe is great for catching enemies and mobility, while the Warhammer's utility comes from CCing enemies that are already in range and keeping enemies away from you. So I think it also depends on what you want from each of the weapons.

@@grimsiight i would have to disagree with you only if we are talking about wars. In wars war hammers are amazing to have either defending or attacking as your basically able with support push the enemies out of the way using the one move that does knock back and on top of that if your taking or defending a flag and there's alot of enemies on it all you have to do is get in yhe middle and use the stun move and stun anyone and everything in range and have your team do quick damage.

Very surprised WH is at bottom as i am very happy leveling with to 25 so far... have put all points into STR and even running around in Light Armor with most +STR and a little CON (about 130STR / 45CON right now). Most mobs even couple levels higher die in (1xHeavy Attack + 1xClear Out or Shockwave + 1xHeavy Attack). Rolling away from dmg works great for Path of Destiny. Did Gladiator quest solo at 20 without problem. Of course i do have GA but mostly use it just for mobility and a little of CC, i don't really feel like its damage is better. That said, i have no idea how it performs in end game or pvp. gl&hf all

Great vid. Thx! What weapon/weapon combo do you suggest for a player who is trying to learn M&K while plying this game. I’ve been gaming for a very long time but have always used a controller, even on pc. So far it’s been going ok, but man it’s tough, 20+ years of controller use make it hard to change on a dime! lol Anyways I picked rapier/musket 1st (I know u are prob cringing right now) and both weapons are so fun but if I fumble my key presses I’m screwed. So at level 27 I decided to start leveling the life staff as it will help keep me alive and it may help give me some value when finding a group. I’ve been using the rapier w it for now (cause rapier is fun!) cause it’s my most leveled weapon and when I get in trouble I am able to dish out some good damage so long as I press the right keys lol. Any suggestions for something to pair the life staff with? Or two diff weapons entirely? Any thoughts or insight is appreciated. Thx!

It's odd if you look at jump kick in spear you will see a nice little thing in its row, if you have a threat jewel equipped in spear it this ability increases its threat by certain %. It was almost like they wanted to have that as an alternative tanking weapon but then last minute threw it out.

Can't really say that i agree with this list, being the reason mostly that this list should not be about a single weapon effectiveness, this can be misleading, i would prefer a Combo Tier List, i mean Rapier as an "A" weapon and Ice Gauntlet as a "B" weapon, i can see that each of them alone are not the best, but pairing them is a whole new story, i also feel that some weapons are made to be a powerful Off-Weapon

Been playing since launch and I have dabbled on all the diff weap types. At level 40 I settled on the great axe and hatchet with sword and shield as an extremely close third. This video was very informative and helped me categorize the rest of them in terms of which I would consider taking to level 20 without being disappointed in the end. Thank you for doing the legwork for me 👍

Great Axe vs. Warhammer: - I found your comparison between these two weapon systems interesting. I am not able to replicate the results. Either I am playing the great axe incorrectly, I am not skilled with its use, or I am somehow not geared correctly to make it as strong as the war hammer. Or, recent patches have equalized the damage output of each weapon. I find the war hammer to deliver greater damage in the open world. So am I doing something incorrectly with the great axe or could it be something else?

I main great axe and warhammer and they are on the same level. I just switch them to counter enemy resistances.

The Rapier is a good 2nd weapon for fire staff or ice gauntlet users as it is the only melee weapon that scales with INT.

i dont know where this idea comes from that musket does more damage? like even if i was fully specced to intelligence the bow deals double the damage per shot than musket did and bow does it faster same goes with full dexterity the bow is far superior in dps but its harder to use than the musket since you need to lead the target and factor in gravity on longer ranges otherwise the bow is a beast of a weapon

love the ice gauntlet for entering combat. putting the pillar down, switching to life staff to heal my tank mate and deal damage, then when the enemies are halfelife aoe ice bubble and light lifestaff attaks that heal till no enemy is left. If bigger enemy repead as often as needed and if low mana entomb urself^^

I think the list is pretty accurate for someone who has barely gotten to the 30-40 range. Can’t wait to see your Max Level tier list and see how they compare. I think they will be vastly different scaling and specialization and min/max are going to be crazy in this game

They totally threw the WH under the bus. I'm a WH main and I want justice for WH. I don't see no other weapon do massive damage like WH. I'm level 40 doing average of 1000 to 3000 damage heavy hit and around 3000 when all conditions are met.

Ye I have 150 hours in the game and can confirm, he have no clue about the hammer. I feel he tried one build on some mobs. He dont even mention mobs resistance types and weakness.

As someone who has had life staff maxed at 20 since I hit level 38, since it's the only thing I use for the most part, I can attest to its effectiveness. I have around 180 focus and 50 int, so it has no problem getting enemies to 50% or less, or even potentially killing them before they ever get to me. I'm in light armor so I can roll away if things get sketchy, and I'm running ice gauntlet as a secondary for the use of ice tomb for a get out of jail free card. I'm super excited to see how void gauntlet works with the life staff when it finally comes out.

Greataxe is in its own SS tier for me that weapon is crazy. As a support weapon Ice Gauntlet is A or S tier for me as a main weapon in belongs in B.

Ice gauntlet is nutty dmg and AOE cc when used in combo. S tier for sure. It's a burst weapon then switch to a main. Fire staff ice gauntlet is beast.

@@ShapeshifterOS I depend on my ice gauntlet to burst down tanks or some aoe packs. So it depends. Or when my enemies are resistant to fire dmg. I'd take an ice gaunt vs axe any day. Axe hatchet users only have a chance against ice gauntlet due to berserk.

I would say A tier it isn't as good as any of the S tier either fire staff or ice gauntlet. The damage is S but thats it everything else about it is B at best. Like each one u only use 2 abilities just bc how bad they are ice storm and fireball are the only two good attacking once and flame dash one and the ice tomb one are good def but the other 8 abiltys are bad

I noticed that some gems give you scale from int and focus. So i tired heavy paladin build with swordshield and life staff ( put gem into sword for focus scale) all points into focus and constitution. And i have to say its preety viable. You can join dungeons as healer or tank, big sustain and tank potential. Also i have secondary sword for taunt gem when i play as a tank in group.

I find that the Bow with Skirmisher Mastery in combination with ONLY wearing light Armor that focus on Strength/Dexterity is a Speed Demon with second weapon a Hatchet. You dodge more and faster because light Armor lower cost to Stamina, plus you deal 20% bonus damage for complete light Armor category and hatch with berserk mastery deals heavy damage since you build around strength/Dexterity.

Do we feel like all the weapons should be balanced into the same tier? Or is it okay for there to be weapons that are clearly stronger than others and not just for specific purposes?

Specialized offhands that are overall worse but fit a certain need. For example, it's ok for ice gauntlet to be lower tier because it's still a great secondary to pair with fire or life staff. So every weapon just needs to do A job

Ice Gauntlet deal some serious damage with the Snowglobe tree and is a real tank destroyer in pvp. Lost is a pretty common Enemytype below level 50, which makes it pretty easy for Ice Gauntlet users to deal a lot of damage in the early to mid game. Lategame its a 1v1 machine since you can basically stunlock every melee Foe with iceshower, snowglobe and heavy attack

There are tiers though, only ones easy to pin down are S tier and F tier though. The S tier list is indisputable, and obvious if you played the game and watched everyone migrate to Gaxe, hatchet, and life staff over the first few weeks from whatever they were using. The global mastery achievements on Steam reflect this fact, as well as just looking at the skill trees and comparing passive bonuses

I'm an healing ice mage. Split 50/50 between focus intelligence and a little constitution to tank since I'm mostly a solo player. The life staff's healing circle combined with the ice tomb is truly ungodly mid battle.

So hopefully you see this and maybe change your opinion, but I'm a ice gauntlet main and you should drop entombed and take ice spike with the last node. I've literally one hit people with just the ice spike with lv38 (me) vs. A level 56. With a short cd this ability changes everything, it's sleeper op. Please try it out with being heavily specced int.

The only one I disagree strongly with is the Ice Gauntlet rank, which could easily be high A tier or even S tier. Not everything is about max damage output especially in pvp, and the ice gauntlet is one of a kind with its ability to control a battle.

I seen many vids and twitch users use firestaff icegauntlet an i self use it. Totaly dominates both pve and pvp. Duno whats this boiii is talking about cuz this combination is ridiculously good! Should easy be S rank or atleast A. Even in lower level and it's so much to play 🥰😋.

Heal. Save from death. Removes bleeds and poisens. Its the Ultimate Suvival Weapon. I partner mine with the Bow. Fantastic combo.

i think sword and shield is so underrated, the two trees are so useful and u can build it in a lot of different ways, you can block projectiles (none does that) and you have 70% red dmg by one skill that last 8 seconds and heals you at the end

I'm greataxe 18, rapier 14 , fire staff 14, lifestaff 14. I haven't had the chance to enjoy the other weapons yet, but man I love the ones I've lvld. Lifestaff / focus build with greataxe as 2nd weapon has been my pve solo/group spec and it's top tier survival. My dps spec is great axe and rapier ATM and it shreds mobs and players when spec properly... The down side is I have no heal abilities and have to rely on others healing. Nice video.

Axe/hatchet for dps and s&b/hatchet for tanking for me. The good thing about this game is that the way everything is set up for dps, tanking and healing could be viable with any combo depe nding on the playstyle of the person and their ability to get better. A good good player could get low tier weapons and destroy a bad players higher tier weapon combo.

@@Taylormane Absolutely. Just spec for damage instead of tanking in the S&S tree. While it isn't crazy damage, your movements will matter. I wouldn't do "Reverse Stab" if you're going to do PVP because it's a little hard to catch. I would choose Shield bash for that 2/3 second stun and follow up with a Heavy hit to gain 30% empower for 5 seconds.

Musket out damaging bow x'D I started with musket and it has its benefits. If you suck at aiming and long range fights are where it really shines for everything else go bow. The Damage potential and mobility are far better it hits harder and fires faster the only downside is arrow travel time and arrow drop these make fighting longer range more difficult with the bow and hurts your dmg due to missed shots and slower travel however in close to mid range as long as you can aim properly the musket is completely outclassed. Another thing with the bow I have noticed not sure if it's a bug or due to server tick rates but at times if your connection isn't great your dps will take a huge hit since some skills like poison arrow and pearcing arrow will sometimes make your character pause for a second I think bit has to do with connection cause it only happens some times but yeah musket will fire 2 shots in the time it takes bow to nuke you down for PvE bow is better two due to the quick DPS and triple shot being much easier to land on NPCs or a boss especially since you can get the abilities down it's tree to lower it's cd to 6s if all arrows hit , on a boss that's pretty easy to do meaning you do 325% weapon DMG every 6s with one ability alone and it only takes one arrow.

For me, when I was at level 10 I was using the fire staff and I had no problem. I was killing level 12 mobs with the fire staff ONLY. And I was killing them with like 5 hits. Now I am level 20 and has a level 16 Fire staff. For me I’m doing really good with it.

I know this big discussion about the hatchet but for me it was specially for the leveling Phase the most overpowered weapon ever… just because of the berserk which give you such a Great boost (healing dmg speed - so all you need) But ya I dont know xD for sure its Not the best at all

i love the Rapier but i switched out to hatchet purely because its fairly hard to be effective in dungeons with rapier where every pull tends to be an aoe pull and due to rapier being a thrusting weapon its sort of difficult to hit everything at the same time. on the other hand for me personally hatchets biggest minus is its short reach but otherwise its a really fun weapon to just go ham with :D.

Good summary. The hatchet is definitely Uber. I find the War Hammer can really suffer because the attacks are slow, so if the target darts on you, the attack is wasted. Hatchet has such fast speed that you virtually never miss.

personally i think musket does have mobility, it has a passive where it reloads on dodge roll every 6 seconds and if you press X or switch weapons it animation cancels the end of the dodge roll, with a dex/light armor build as well you get a 20% lower dodge cost and much more mobility. so I use it with the rapier in open world pvp to kite people and the burn shot stops them from spamming heals for 13 seconds if you hit a headshot and still a considerable amount of time otherwise then rapier with riposte for self peel and running them down after.

how are you not mobile as musket user? use light armor and perks that give move speed. theres one that gives you 10 percent if someone is close to you and theres another one that gives you a speed buff after dodge roll with no cooldown. arguably the best movement in game especially with 150 dex

Idk, I handle groups of enemies with only a life staff. Put out 300+ damage with a light attack. Just a level 31 right now and gear score 375 on the staff. Might've gotten lucky with the damage output. But I think the lifestaff can compare to other regular melee weapons for sure.

Once you get ice gauntlet up to the point where you can unlock the final skill on the left tree you get a 35% boost to all ice dmg it becomes godly then, slow start strong finish

These are my favorite type of players to pvp against as I catch them in a gravity pull which guarantees a stun-lock till they die because they think I'm wearing heavy armor and will just spam M1.

@@lordcabbage1285 Except when they block all your attacks during gravity well and get distance because they have ways to slow you or run away faster. Try catch good bow player who have put points into Skirmisher tree, whatever they do they gain tons of haste.

A Teir- Spear, late game it becomes a low cooldown powerhouse using all of its impaler tree including Rend, Bleed, and a Stun that empowers you making you highly mobile and invaluable in a fight. Attribute Priority 150 dex and 100 strength to get the most out of the spear.

I play a fire mage warhammer, great dps and good cc if they get too close, and some extra tiny heal. :) Fire staff can't be S to me yet because it's a bit glitched. Warhammer would be S if the healing was a lil bit better but it's still decent.

That healing is absolute bonkers if you hit 3+ enemies with your a abilities. Smash, bonk bonk, smash, bonk bonk, smash and you're full health with corpses in front of you. At least it is when I'm specced into strength as much as I am.

I was shocked when I got into my first fight against a group targeting me while I was farming. Managed to kill 3 players within seconds using the hatchet. Berserk is super strong.

It might be strong but not S tier - it is simple to use as well as simple to counter. Decent players will just avoid the fight while enemy is using Berserk or stun you. Greatest power of hatchet is its simplicity while it is also its greatest downside.

The rankings should've been split into 2 categories. PVE or PVP, and then also either MAIN or SECONDARY. The reason why weapons should be categorized by PVE or PVP is that some weapons are really great for function in PVP but less so in PVE, and vice versa. The reason why weapons should be categorized by MAIN and SECONDARY is that some weapons are really great as SECONDARY weapons, but horrible as MAIN weapons, and vice versa, depending on the circumstance. An example of a good SECONDARY for utility is the Warhammer when paired with the Greataxe as a MAIN (for damage dealing following the stuns you do with a Warhammer). Another example of a good SECONDARY is the Musket for ranged damage when paired with the rapier. The former example is highly effective in both PVE and PVP, whereas the latter is mostly that of PVP. Good video, though; the rankings just needed context above all else.

I've found the rapier easy to learn, and use. It's as easy to learn as the hatchet. Fire staff you don't want to go one tree, you want to split tree the build. One tree focuses on critical damage the other on DOT's combining them gives you the best of both worlds, I can normally 3 shot a mob 2 levels higher before they ever reach me. Ice gauntlet is under whelming before you get to level 20 but the CC abilities start getting better at weapon level 10. Musket and bow are great for the 1st shot to pull mobs, but you can do more dps with melee weapons for the rest of the fight.. Really weapon choice comes down to the individual. How do they want to play? What weapon suites their play style best. Even people with the same play style may differ on weapon choice. Overall not a bad video.

Shield has it's own skill tree in the sword tree in order for them to let you use it they would have to make seperate trees with other weapons. I don't think this will happen

Bow is easily S tier. The dot damage from bleed and poison is actually insane in pve. But it’s S purely for the mobility it provides. Dodge/dodge animation cancel/ switch to bow to proc it’s two movement speed buffs. When buffs expire switch to rapier and dash, dodge dodge and repeat. You get around soo fast it’s insane. I always keep at least a bow and even a hatchet in my inventory when I run around between quests. I always keep a hatchet for the same reason, as well as the hatchets life regen for when I know I’m going into a hard fight. I essentially carry a rapier as my main damage source and supplement my secondary between spear/hatchet/bow depending on the situation. Hatchet for harder hitting mobs, bow for mobility and spear for crowd control.

Ive tried almost all the weapons and the hatchet has the best animations/feel to it imo. Its ability to heal is just so good as well, stay in berserk every sec u can.

Strangely enough most people don't seem to know you can mix and match both trees on each weapon...I kind of disagree with rapier and 2.5% cd on hit...with the cd stuff in the trees I can use the flurry move and have it again in 5 seconds instead of 15 on 1 target...If i crit on those 5 hits i get +13%cdr PER HIT...with 2 targets I can spam it. Tondo is kinda of nice give its 5m range. Best bow skills by far are poison arrow and the penetration shot...have not decided on 3rd bow skill. I have hatchet, bow, spear and sword and shield at lvl 20. I ALSO noticed that NOT moving with the bow will give you pinpoint accuracy barring the projectile path arrows take...so if you want to make that opening shot a headshot from long range...better stop moving long enough to loose the arrow. Moving you lose accuracy this is likely why some bows have that like +80%ish accuracy would be pretty beast if you can aim.

I wish it was cheaper to respec attribute points. I love trying out various combos, but it seems expensive, even at my fairly low level of 26. I just can't pick one, so I'm going to have to keep paying to respec.

I like the list. Personally iv only played with sword, rapier, and hatchet. And I love the hatchet the most. As far as musket vs bow. I gotta say musket all the way, just pair it with a high mobility seconed weapon like the rapier. :) awesome job man.

Plus the mana regeneration from entomb, the additional 10% damage per enemy in the blizzard for locking down choke points, the freeze on heavy attacks... IG is S Tier.

I feel like a high skill player could pair the Ice Gauntlet with the Fire Staff and swap between the two. Ice Gauntlet for mana regen and gapping to swap over to the Fire Staff for high damage burst in between.

@@jeffparoda5800 i use ice gauntlet and life staff as a crowd control-healer build. i'll throw down freeze and ice rain on a large group of enemies or 1 harder enemy then swap to life staff for healing a group situation. If i get low on mana i can drop the heal circle and ice tomb in it for self healing and increased mana generation from both abilities. When im low on mana i can save resources by only using mana potions when i need to go for this combo to regen health, other wise the circle heal lasts for a while so by time i drop it i will have enough time to passive regen mana for tomb if im only going for mana regen.

Good list other than the bow, If you use the bow properly and pick the right perks its without questions the highest dps in game for bosses and also slaps in pvp especially in wars, I haven't dropped out of the top 5 in a war running the bow...

Spear is an S tier weapon if used correctly and if u have the correct skills. My build makes it to where each one of my skills I get back within 2-3 seconds or instantly if I’m surrounded. My build out dmgs great axe and hatchet in pve but does about the same in pvp due to the struggle of not getting enough debuffs on other players.

My current build is one that has plenty of utility for DPS. I use a Rapier as my primary weapon and a Bow as my secondary weapon. In tougher fights, I use the Poison and Bleed effects to apply DoT to groups of enemies, and then switch to my Rapier and apply bleed with that, then simply use the Rapier as normal until the cooldowns for the DoT effects are over, then re-apply. All of the DoT gets to scale really well since the Bow and Rapier both scale with Dex, so I hardly ever come across a battle I can't solo. That all being said, I'm strictly a PvE player at the moment, so I can't speak to the effectiveness of this in PvP.

I think this guide should be called noob friendly tier list, for example he said the musket is A-Tier whilst the Bow is B-Tier but the bow has the most damaging shot in the game and a higher DPS, plus the bows passive abilities increase damage while passives on the musket just made it usable…now the ice gauntlets are probably the best PvP weapons on the game, you can literally cast the slow thing then ice storm and you are NOT able to move at all, so you can absolutely destroy someone’s HP…the life staff is probably the only weapon I’d agree with being in S-Tier as it’s damage capabilities as well as it’s insane healing abilities are just insane especially as you get higher level

the spear def is S tier, when u go Strengthless Spear, meaning only adding dex and dex armor/rings/ u hit way harder than the rapier, and hatchet.

Yes spear scales way better with dex and it IS A MONSTROSITY of a melee weapon. I maxed out both Great Axe and hatchet but none of them do as much dps. Spear is just awesome

If the criteria for the war hammer being bad is because it does the same thing as the great axe but worse then this is very wrong (keep in mind I'm not saying the tier list is necessarily wrong, just that the criteria is bad). They aren't at all comparable weapons, they do completely different things. The only thing they have in common is that they are both big weapons and have (different types of) CC. The great axe is for rushing someone down whereas the war hammer is more of a defensive "stand your ground" weapon. The war hammer has a lot of damage reduction and other passives designed to debuff and disrupt the opponent while out-trading them. The great axe is all offensive and aggressive meant to rush someone down, lock them into a fight, and roll face on them with mindless damage. You can tell this is bad criteria for a tier list because actually 1v1 a war hammer player has the advantage against a great axe player since the war hammer counters aggressive melee whereas the great axe counters ranged.
