New World Mounts Explained in 3 Minutes

Mounts are coming to New World with the game's first expansion - Rise of the Angry Earth. Mounts will initially come in 3 varieties: Horses, Dire Wolves, and Lions, but it sounds like the developers want to create additional Mount types in the future. Along with Mounts will come the new Trade Skill called Riding. Players will be able to level up this new Skill by completing Mount Quests and Races. Increasing the Riding Trade Skill will increase your Mount's speed. Mount stats can also be increased by equipping Trinkets or feeding your Mount food. Yeah. I played New World and to be honest. The game isn't bad. The story is voice dialogue which is a plus. The only problem I had with the game is the mount system. I may return to the game to try out mounts but I am afraid they probably made the expansion worlds larger and spread out quest thin to make it just as time consuming. The Original New World is littered with quest which makes mounts that as useful. If they keep the game mechanics the same with the maps the same it may make for some interesting game play

Agreed but 30$ for a mount is just lazy I remember grinding like 20 hours for my Chocbo in ff14

Gw2 gave 6 mounts for 25$ not to mention one of them is best flying mount ever created in any game not just mmo..their special abilities etc...

Sonemeone mntioned a side quest around level 40 or 45 on getting a full set of gear that can last you untill 60 any clue what it might be? Trying to find it myself.

If this expansion is successful enough we could very likely see boats and ships etc added to the game in a future dlc.

@@C4kie hahaha 🤣 honestly, but for real swimming does need to come into play and it shouldnt be a skill locked behind a expansion lmao, I have a feeling one day mounts won't be locked behind the expansion but who knows.

Mounts must had been added for free, as that must be a core game experience in 2023, or their features must be amazing and give the overwhelming feeling of their dynamic and movement abilities, like in GW2... The game itself looks much worse than a lot of other MMORPG games(TESO, FF14, GW2....)

This is not true. You have to purchase the $30 expansion Rise of the Angry Earth in order to unlock Mounts, but you will receive a Mount for free by completing a quest in-game.

what level can you get a mount? or will it only be for max level?

The questline for the Horse Mount will become available at level 25, Dire Wolf will become available at 45, and Lion at level 60

No, they’re not introducing Mounted combat yet. That would be a fun feature though!

This is exactly why they didn't want to add mounts. You guys are shaping the game into something irrelevant to New World.

@@Arcanus31I agree it's not that fast to run and use shrines as it is. However it's going to be fun in open world to shoot people when they're on the mounts. I think.

Its suck that u have to buy expansion so you can have a mount... Its a bit pay to win for some situations, anyway im glad that they finaly added mounts. :D

@@PopularTopular , what about the PTR? The PTR currently says u can play the expansion and have the Flail weapon...Is this not true?

@@jakemartinelli5049 the PTR is currently testing all of the features coming to Rise of the Angry Earth. If you want to play this content (Mounts, Flail, Artifacts, etc.) in the live version of the game, then you have to purchase the $30 Rise of the Angry Earth expansion.

@@PopularTopular Ah, thanks. I played a lil of the PTR just now and I'm on the fence. It's good they're adding new content to the game after so long, but I worry bout the price and if the real thing is gonna be grindy

@@jakemartinelli5049 yeah, I’m a little torn on if I can recommend the expansion right now. The amount of content added to the game seems pretty small, but at the same time it’s only $30 for a non-subscription MMO, which is very inexpensive for the genre. I think it will be worth it if they continue to produce Seasonal content over time for no additional charge, but we’ll have to wait and see 🤷‍♂️

I bought it but man 30$ for a mount when I can just get a mount for free in almost every other mmo the expansion should focus more on actually expanding the world not something we should of had for forever
