This New Year's Eve, after only three hours of rest following a lively celebration at Ustaria Posta 📯, I found myself bracing the early morning chill to shovel fresh snow under the starlit Dolomite sky. The snowflakes didn't stop; by 3 AM, a whopping 40 cm had blanketed the ground, transforming the landscape into a winter wonderland.
As the Ustaria Posta 📯 crew and I hustled to clear the parking lot before the day's tourists emerged, the anticipation grew. With the first light of 2024, the Dolomites revealed their true splendor, draped in pristine powder, perfect for an unforgettable day of skiing.

La crrrrruuuuuussssscccccccchh❤ 1977 bin ich an Ostern zum ersten Mal dort gefahren, mein Skilehrer war Albert Piccolruaz und Lelle…später bin ich zusammen mit Erich Irsara gefahren und sein Cousin Gottfried, manchmal war im April über Nacht noch 1 Meter Neuer Pulverschnee…. Tempi passati purtroppo😢

We prefer to ski lightweight instead of those surfboards 😂😂 PS: Honestly, you can count on one hand the days in a season with snow conditions that you can ski on wider skis here. It's a different type of snow.

Wasn't it amazing. We are returning home after a wonderful two weeks in the Dolomites, the second of which in Armentarola. I think I have now found my most favourite resort. The New snow on NYE just made it more magical, and it seems you have a lot more coming. Be safe and be happy. Buon Anno

Scendendo dalla Crusc, sentiero subito a destra e giu' per il bosco passando a fianco al Lüch d'Andrac, poi si apre e giù fino in paese. Splendida giornata il 1° gennaio 2024. Ma anche oggi non era male...

Hi Igor, I've been enjoying your videos since the pandemic and I am a huge fan of your skill filming and your sense of humour. I have been coming to the dolomites from Australia since 2004, 20 years ago. I always stay in the Fassa valley and have skied Santa Croce many times. When would be a good time to come to say hello.

Happy New Year! It is nice to see that the boys are having fun again. Especially when you see them skiing offpiste you can see how good they really are! The snowquality is outstanding too! For myself, I'm probably planning to book another skitrip to Austra really soon, but I unfortunately will not visit San Cassiano this year with work. They said, it's too expensive to organize it.

From a cost perspective, lodgings in Badia and La Villa are generally less expensive compared to those in San Cassiano, while still offering access to the same skiing areas. Due to its proximity to Cortina, known for its higher-end pricing structures, San Cassiano tends to have higher prices, but it also offers quality services in line with these costs.

@@UstariaPosta I understand what you mean but I think that work has looked at that too. The 'problem' also is, is that they must think about hotel-closing times at the end of the season. Plus, it's a rather big group of about 45-50 people, it must all fit well in the available rooms. I will forward your tips to the organization just in case they didn't think about Badia and La Villa.

Also we skied the fresh snow with aster on new year (san pellegrino)...aster wearing of course the helmet from you guys!.. usa expression is "ski good...or eat wood"😅 Today as well a big dump...50 cm of fresh snow in civetta just laying fresh tracks on trampolina snow! Yes here same situation with new snow, but this time it is much heavier than the one of New Year. So more strenght is needed for skiing .... and for shoveling 😂

Wow.... Nice to see you again with your sons on tour. What fantastic snow conditions and what good skiers you are. Great to see the fun in this sport, this lifestyle. I am in the dolomites from next Saturday and I want to do the marmolada run. But I think from the alpe di siuise I will prefer to drive by car to wolkenstein to be an early bird. Maybe it's possible over saltria to monte Pana. I am so excited to be there at this nice landscape and have a good sporty time. Best regards, and a healthy year 2024 for you and your family ☺️

Loved the video! I was in the Dolomites with my family one week with christmas and it was the first time I experienced a little bit of powder! I'm only 14 almost 15 and this was my 7th week skiing ever! And I'm only capable to ski one, now with school two weeks a year, so it's going to be hard to learn to ski in powder for me! I liked seeing your kids enjoying the fresh powder! But loved the video (or as your son said episode😉)Igor! And a happy new year

More or less every area got snow, we have been a little more lucky with the quality of snow thanks to cold temperatures that remained on the ground the snow we got was so fluffy.

You have such fantastic videos from the Dolomites! 🤩 Almost the feeling of being there. When would you recommend is the best time to visit for skiing? I have been once in 2018 and it was in high season february.

Thanks 🙏👍 Well if you want to avoid the peak season then without any doubt the best period of time to ski is everything before Christmas (until the 26th December) and then after mid of March. Everything inbetween year after year is getting more and more crowded.

You are so lucky living in Dolomites. I will be in Europe at the end of March and planning to go skiing in April to Cervinia but would love to visit Alta Badia. From my past experience I know that April is still reasonable in Cortina. What about Alta Badia?.

April usually is reasonable in many parts of the Dolomites, the question is just ... what remains open? As example Alta Badia is one of the early closing ski areas. Not for lack of snow, but just because it's the first one that opens again the resort in summer and in order to do all the maintenance work to the lifts before reopening.

Bellissimo iniziare l'anno così! Io ero sul Cristallo perché non ci andavo da tantissimo tempo. Ma con la neve appena caduta, ed una temperatura non molto bassa, non è rischioso fare fuoripista?

Sempre simpatici, una domanda, ma i clienti e vicini non ti sparano dalle finestre se ti metti a spalare la neve (a motore) alla mattina presto il primo dell'anno? CHE SIA UN SUPER ANNO PER TE E LA TUA SIMPATICA FAM. un abbraccio

È piú facile che gli sparo io quando iniziano a togliere la neve dalle loro auto e calpestare tutt'intorno cosicché dopo mi tocca pala e piccone per toglierla tutta 😂😂 Per i vicini ... stai tranquillo che si fa a gara a chi ha la fresa con il motore piú potente 😂😂😂

Sono sci da sci alpinismo SkiTrab Maestro. Da ormai 12 anni non uso piú sci da sci alpino.

Following you since corona on youtube, by coincidence, during this morning on the 01.01.2024, I passed above you on the lower orange seat lift that day and shouted " Hotel Posta" to you skiing below and you shouted back.
