Most ER folks are this odd combo of super relaxed, because the line of worth actually getting worked up is “is anybody actively dying right now? This means vfib, asystole, PEA? Then nothing getting excited about. I will add in pediatric respiratory arrest to the mix because kids are weird. Cross the definition by ER of time to get excited and the laid back, bring it mentality turns 180 to hyper focused and active, in the moment.

@@Arisudev Admit the patient to the hospital. They'll have surgery tomorrow. They can't have anything to eat or drink after midnight tonight.

@@Arisudev Patients are typically assigned an attending physician based on the reason why they were admitted to the hospital. Orthopedics rarely takes on this role themselves, and instead "admit to medicine" to have the internal or general medicine doctors in charge of the overall care even if the patient is in for a broken hip. The main reason is so the patient's other conditions can be managed so the patient can safely have their orthopedic surgery (the "OR tomorrow" part, with OR meaning operating room/theater). "NPO @ MN" just refers to an order for the patient to have nothing to eat or drink after midnight so they can have their surgery the next day.

you know what neroology has actually tried to be decent - he was being baited! and that Smile is goign to be seared in my brain for months....please tell me your kids helped you find the perfect one for nerosurgery. Cheers for Otrho, as a teacher I would have tears streaming down my face if I could get that many extra words around the kids core thoughts or demands. Excellent material as usual. Oh and for those who know I am married to a Scope Jockey, He did indeed scoot away from the scope to play board games with us this holiday and even saw a movie. The board games were easier - the movie was harder then the games as he had to force his neck into the unnartual and uncomfortable posistion of looking up. This is also the first Christmas break that clients of his haven't delivered fecal samples to my house to be stored next to our holiday meals until he can get back to the office.

I laughed so hard when Emergency showed his new reflex hammer. That’s very accurate I saw those in ER use stethoscope as a reflex hammer, but I once saw Ortho resident used the angle of his smartphone as a reflex hammer while I was in ortho rotation and It WORKED!

I actually gasped when he brought out the stethoscope. I’ve been way too deep into the lore. I have found orthos to be very friendly and simple. Joint broken? He fixes it. Consult: your joint is broken, that’s why it hurts. I will fix it with surgery so it doesn’t hurt. Follow up: your joint doesn’t hurt? Great, see you in a month. They get along with everyone and they’re so casual. I love them. Now if only I could remember the anatomy I learned sophomore year so I can be useful.

I’m an ER doctor and I’ve only ever encountered nice and helpful neurologists. Also the fact that the “new reflex hammer” is even being used is hilarious. I used to test reflexes with my stethoscope but now I can’t remember the last time I even tested a reflex… or used my stethoscope to auscultate heart sounds lol

I am wondering now why Dr. Glaucomflecken has not been approached with a Netflix deal. A series on Netflix would be awesome.

I think it’s because his work is based on intelligent satire and talented performance, not in violence, sex, violent sex, incest and other things within those themes performed by mostly untalented and perfectly shaped woke actors and actresses.

@@henriquelaydner4080 It's also possible he would turn it down if approached for these same reasons. If he's not given 100% autonomy on the work and what he wants to produce, the quality will go to crap. If Netflix swings in and says, "I want to stream your series. I'll give you $X but you'll have to get some POCs, Rainbow People, and spice it up with dramatics. Have you thought of casting OBGYN in an affair relationship with Emergency?", I'm betting Dr. G would turn it down. There's also the possibility of Netflix purchasing the rights, recasting everyone, then banning Dr. G from continuing to show his own work here because, "Copyright". Ranting Now: Dr. G's work on this series seems to be coming in at a slower rate but that might just be me being impatient. If it is slower, that's a good thing because he's prioritizing real life over something I get to enjoy at no cost to myself. I'd rather see quality work than quantity. That's the real treat. If he posts every day (especially developing Johnathon), my enjoyment risks becoming stale. I hope to see Jonathon's Jonathon again.THAT will be really cool.

Because it wouldn't be a terrible adaptation of something else and doing all the characters himself means they can't replace him with a black guy for hate clicks to drum up publicity.

I'm wondering why Netflix hasn't been approached with a DR Glaucomflecken deal. Their content would certainly be seen by more people that way.
