Man...I remember being an 18 year old boy fresh out of school (in London) and going into my first real job but having an uncontrolable urge to travel the world and experience all the beauty it had had to offer. I grew up on A.Keys' music (diary was/still is my jam) and one day as I was driving to work, this song came on the radio. It was a sign, I booked a one way ticket to the big apple on my lunch break and left the following week, all on my own. I was nervous as hell but I'lll never forget getting in the cab from JFK Airport, driving into the city and seeing the NYC skyline for the first time and in that moment - this song came on the radio, again. It was like message from above saying yo - welcome to the rest of your life! I had always dreamt of seeing New York and this song gave me the strngth to get the hell out of my small town in England and experience my dreams. So because of this song, I'm forever greatful and indebted to Alicia Keys!

Hey @joesphfuselier Glad you liked London and thanks for your service from a Brit. You're right the 2 best cities in the world London and NY. I loved NY in 2000 can't wait to go back, what we call in England a proper proper place. For all their faults still the benchmark for everything culturally and education wise. And as Alicia says inspirational. A famous writer called Samuel Pepys said if you are tired of London then you are tired or life. If he was from New York he would have said the same.

WE L O V E this song!!! And L O V E Alicia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sadly, LONG after this song (in fact, just this last year) we left the state we loved for 25 years, and returned to our childhood home of Minnesota.. We are happier now!!!!!! BUT... EVERY TIME we hear this song, we are both overwhelmed by the ole' NY pride thing! We will FOREVER miss the weekends in the Adirondacks! ( Luckily northern MN has equal retreats), just a MUCH farther drive. We will always miss, but never return to NY, due to what it has become! But when my wife and I hear this song (and we seek it out often), it brings tears to our eyes, lots of them!!! This song has always made both of us teary solely from the ABSOLUTE BEAUTY of Alicia's Angelic voice!!!!!!!!!!! But now it also seems like saying goodbye to a ole friend (NY). Thankfully, these days, we can stream ALICIA'S absolutely ANGELIC voice, whenever we miss NY. More often, we stream just to hear the the sound of an ANGEL, before She get's her wings!!!!!!!! CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR YOU SING FOREVER IN HEAVEN ALICIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful, gifted musician with the voice of an angel and able to share her heart-felt vision with all of us in such an uncompromising way. I'm literally terrified of large cities but Alicia takes that to a different level and makes me want to visit and explore new realms. She and her parents must be so proud of her achievements (hell, I'm proud of her!) and to make such an enormous footprint in the world of entertainment is the ultimate reward. To use an outdated euphemism, you go, girl !!! Love ya big time :)
