Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr. announced Wednesday that more than $1 million in stolen goods headed for resale were recovered as part of an indictment targeting a retail theft operation. Lilia Luciano has more.

if the origination of where it came from is documented in some capacity it would make it back to the owner eventually, but if its untraceable which 90% of it will be (unless in boxes with company labels on them which would be rare) its most likely auctioned off by the county.

Retailers should be blamed. LOCK your doors. Buzz the customer in. During COVID there were stores that had customers CALL for appointments before coming in. Or call the store when they were at the door. There are ways to stop the theft but retailers don't want to put in the work. They can Put gps trackers in luxury items. Put fakes on the shelf and if the customer wants the REAL thing, go to the back warehouse and get it. Don't keep the real stuff on the shelf.

@@AmericanTeacher-USA we had same issue in 80s with all the crime in the inner cities and it was not a political issue, it was after effects of the inflation from late 70s. The difference 70s and now is US can’t raise rates any higher because US has too much debt so interest payments would create more inflation so inflation today will be here a lot longer, hence all the crime.
