The Rangers are an elite team. But they are no better than last years Boston Bruins. Florida proved that games are not won or lost based on regular season or playoff stats. They were 43 pts behind the Bruins entering the first round. Playoff hockey is about who has the desire to win more + who has the right Personnel for the matchups to contain the opposition’s offense. FL put up 17 goals in 5 games in rd 1v TB, 19 goals in 6 games v B’s . They can get to anybody. Don’t sleep on them.

Our boys will do fine. No way they’re not getting to the finals. But yes, Rangers owed Bruins this year at 3-0 and I was hoping for that, but is what it is. No quit in NY until they hoist that cup over their heads and bring it back to NYC!!! Let’s GOOOOOO!!!!

I disagree. The Panthers are better than the canes precisely because they're more physical and meaner. They aren't afraid to bend the rules to their advantage either. This rangers series is gonna be a fun one, I think. Panthers have more depth on offence whereas Rangers are deeper on defence. Bob and Shesty pretty much cancel each other out. @seamunke Cane were not the cup favorite. They were betting odds cup favorites thanks to their history of deep runs, everyone who watches hockey knew they were probably the third best, if not fourth best team in the east. Rags and Panthers were by far superior to them in every way.

I must say, your characterization of Bobravsky is underwhelming considering he is again a Vezna Trophy finalist and stops breakaways like theres no tomorrow and is a massive reason for thePanthers success last year and this year. He is worth every cent of his contract, despite going through a rough patch a couple years ago.

Igor is the difference. You cannot measure what confidence a team has when they take chances or pinch in on defense and not have to worry about giving up breakaways or odd man rushes when you have Igor between the pipes!!! The reason the Rangers are so dangerous on the penalty kill and have scored short handed goals is the difference maker Igor. Rangers can make mistakes on defense and still get bailed out by the best goalie in the universe

Clearly you don't know about the Panthers. You have Sam Reinhart, who scored the most powerplay goals in the league and tied for the most short handed goals in the league this year. Oh and when Barkov and Forsling are on the ice together, they've only had nine goals scored against them the entire season and Forsling's plus minus was 56 best in the league this year.

While dancing, the Rangers are even on their penalty kill, scoring 4 while surrendering 4. their PP is clicking at better than 30%, and the ranger PP is a helluva lot better than the lightning or Bruins. The Rangers forwards are also a lot better than what the Panthers have faced, in an aging Lightning team, and a Marchand-less Bruins team. Yes, the Rangers faced the Capitals, where Ovechkin seemed like he didn't want to play, and was very inferior, but you cannot dismiss a stacked Canes team, that was nearly swept (say what you want, the Rangers had the momentum and everyone thought at that point the Rangers were going to win after tying the game in the third starting from 2 goals down). Utilizing your logic, the Canes were the third best team in the league, and Andersen played lights out down the stretch, and the team had a +63 differential. The Panthers are not that much better than the Canes were and play a similar type of hockey. I understand we are all fans of our respective teams, but lets not put the homer googles on. On paper, the Rangers have a slight edge due to special teams, but everything else is quite even. This series will come down to 3 factors. Which vezina level Goalie will steal a game, Which forwards will finish instead hitting iron or missing the net, and who wants it more.

@@zfouleur nobody said it would be a walk in the park. And how would you know what somebody knows about hockey. What I do know is this: any one of the teams left in these playoffs can win the cup. It’s usually decided by which goalie plays better. Having Quick’s championship pedigree helping Igor prepare for the opponents the Rangers will see gives me (me a 60 year old hockey fan and player) the confidence this Rangers team is ready to get to the next level. I get it the Washington Capitals series was a joke. Washington should have never made the playoffs. However, during the regular season the Rangers skated with Tampa and Florida and did well.

The panthers faced the Lightning in round 1. The rangers faced a team that only got in the playoffs with 1 point on last game of season. Hence the discrepancy in numbers on the PK.

The were outplayed twice for sure other than that they played great and was a very evenly matched series. Should have been the conference final. Carolina would beat Florida. After watching Florida struggle with Boston I'm not so hyped on how tough they are

You guys played an above average bruins team and struggled to win. The canes much better than the panthers.if we beat them we can definetly take out the panthers. Rangers in 6.

@@hockeyfanfromfinland "almost" never happened. The rangers could've swept Carolina in game 4 Carolina was very fortunate. Game 5 was the only game rangers got really handled every other game was very close. Carolina number 1 penalty kill in the nhl. Rangers did well on penalty kill. Panthers are just cavemen on ice their offensive firepower not on the canes level. Their goaltending definetly better than Carolina but that's really it. They just go head hunting and are very physical. The rangers will win in 6 games or 7.

Bob is a 2x vezina winner and a vezina finalist. He literally stood on his head in order to get the panthers to the finals last year, what the hell do you mean the rags have a huge lead in net. The gap between the two is miniscule and this will for sure be a goalie battle for the ages.

2.6 GSAA in 11GP for bob, 8.8GSAA in 10GP for igor. Last year bob had 16.3GSAA in 19GP, igor had 8.8 in 7GP. 2 years ago igor had 18.6 in 20GP, it’s safe to say he’s easily the best goalie in the league and the xfactor for the rangers.

The D is where the Rangers have the most edge in this series. Particularly the top 4 (especially if Fox gets healthy). The Trouba Gus (or Trouba Miller like Game 6) pairing has been a circus. If they figure it out or Gus sits for Jones, the Rangers will have a clear edge on D. Forwards slight edge to the Panthers because of the Rangers third line and over dependence on the Bread line. Both goalies have the potential to steal any game. Igor's bottom end is higher than Bob's. Series could go either way. Injuries and PPGs could likely tip it.

No team with Vincent Trocheck as a second leading score is it gonna beat the Panthers? I don’t understand how people don’t see that Sergei Bobrovsky never got beat against the Bruins. All the goals scored against him pretty much were ones that he had no chance on in game six for example, all the Panthers goals got by Jeremy Slaven. The one go, Boston had was a breakaway. In game five Sergei Bobrovsky had no chance he hasn’t given up a legit goal in two games. The guy is unstoppable in the playoffs. The Rangers goalie got beat all series long against Carolina panthers. Office is much more potent than Carolina.

Juan is playing with Alexander Barkov, and with Matthew Tkachuk. The other one is playing with Vincent Trocheck who is the worst most overrated player I’ve ever seen in my life.

The more previews I'm hearing the better I'm feeling about Fla winning this series. The key stat for me is Fla has more 5v5 goals while also facing vastly better opposing goalies. Also Bob vs Igor is much closer than most think.

@@hockeyfanfromfinland I was exaggerating a bit but barkov is the only one who truly scares me on the panthers… are there other good player? For sure. Are they as dangerous as barkov? Not even close. For you to say tkachuk is your best playoff performer I didn’t notice him a single time in the bruins series besides fighting the mighty Pasternak NOT ONCE. And I think Florida is highly overrated this year they’re not nearly as physical as they were last year.

@@hockeyfanfromfinland we shall see, I just think that bruins roster had no buisness being in the playoffs they have a great goalie decent defense and literally no one on offense besides pasta and marchand and bennett had to take marchand out for two games even to make sure they win it. They even got help from the refs big time in one of they’re wins also.

Your Dreaming. Stars would crush NYR and don't count FL out. They fight harder than any team I've seen I'm the last 2 yrs. If your teams down 2-1, 3-2 or more. Good luck coming back. But FL... never count them Tougher than nail players. They will put so pain on NYR and wear them down for damn sure.

imo... Carolina is better than Florida. The Panthers are very top heavy - top 2 lines are great but we got the edge in depth, defense, special teams and goalie. Panthers are good tho, always find ways to win, physical team... I think Rangers in 6

What are you talking about? We literally have one of the deepest teams in the nhl that can beat you at any line. Anton Lundell is our 3rd line center and has scored multiple times.
