The organization NYCNext, dedicated to building New York City into a more equitable place for all, is honoring the city with a special performance of Billy Joel's classic, "New York State of Mind." The video features performances and cameos by Zeshan B, Sara Bareilles, Victoria Clark, Cautious Clay, Andy Cohen, Stephen Colbert, Chloe Flower, Alexa Ray Joel, Joseph Joubert, Tom Kitt, The Klezmatics, LaChanze, Anaïs Reno, Idina Menzel, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Brian Newman, Kelli O'Hara, Joan Osbourne, Peppermint, Angie Potani, Mark Rivera, David Rosenthal, Bobby Sanabria and Suzanne Vega.

Went to New York in November of 2000. Got some great pictures of the world trade centers on the Staten Islands ferry. It was amazing watching the fast pace life style while I was just relaxing...and enjoying the show. Knicks game at Madison Square Garden, Central Park, Coney Island...some of the best food I've ever had. Best vacation I've ever had. Thank you New York.

Went to New York in 98 spent the day at the towers went by myself then left the country full of Philippines then move to Hawaii for 5 years anyways New York is everybody it's America it's the Melting Pot it's amazing that someone got something negative out of my comment I just love my country and everyone in it

Billy did a rendition of Miami 2017 for a televised pandemic fundraiser during the very worst of it. It's easy to forget what a scary time that was for NYC, thousands had already perished, not clear if help was coming. I literally cried listening to just his voice and his piano. And now we can look back on it. Never ever count out NYC. Indomitable as ever. 🐳🗽🦈

There is just something about New York. I've visited there from Australia 5 times, and I can't wait to get back again! Might have to wait a while... But I'm blowing a great big kiss to NYC from the other side of the world. Happy rebuilding!

What an incredible arrangement! I was 10 when Billy released this and I thought it was about me. I lived with mom in Hollywood, dad on Miami Beach, and grandparents in NY for summers. Would take flights to Miami alone back then. Haha. Colbert has some chops!

I know LOL! Check out Colbert singing with Jennifer Hudson and Jon Batiste the other night on his show. Colbert & Batiste were singing backup on Natural Woman (ROFLOL) for Hudson at the piano & it blew her mind!!! It was great fun.

I have never been to New York City, but my late husband, Tim, called himself a "frustrated New Yorker," not a native, but would have loved to have been. Now he's gone, anything related to New York City reminds me of him. Thanks for the memories! ☺️

I live in what we call central NY 40 miles north west of Albany ,this song always is special to me from the first time I heard Billy perform it ! It brings upstaters and the city together…..as it should be. !

CBS Sunday Morning has always been a favorite with your uplifting programming and moment of nature. This video and arrangement is so fantastic! So uplifting. It makes me want to move there. You are to be congratulated as well as everyone participating. So glad all five burroughs were included. I have been to NYC❤ several times, and never disappointed. My next trip will be to see the Highline and carousel, and catch a broadway play. CBS you are the best!

Just heard on N.P.R. that Barry Manilow had to cut his set short because of Hurrican Henri. Anderson Cooper got him on the phone and Barry ended up serenading Anderson. You could tell Anderson was just loving it. So cool.
