​@@organisten a 2nd would be fine if they build a twin for the modern 1WTC. I just don't think rebuilding a replica of the 1973-2001 era twins is a good idea. New age twins is the best way to go since it would honor the legacy and memory of the originals while giving the new complex a chance to still have their own unique identity.

The new tower actually only has 94 floors, they have the top floor labeled at 104 for some reason.

Despite there being less floors, its still just as tall because the floors have more room between the floor and ceiling. This makes the tower 1368 ft like the north tower (not including the spire), or 1776 ft (including the spire).

That simply would not make any practical economic sense. The original WTC towers (1 and 2 WTC) were barely 50% occupied as of 9/11. There was never any real need for that much office space and even less so now. Skyscrapers aren't just built for show (although hubris does play a part at least). There must be a financial return for the investors and building another monumentally expensive building just to satisfy everyone's aesthetic sensibilities would be a huge loss of money.
