Hundreds of New Yorkers joined Israeli visitors at Riverside Park to commemorate Yom Hashoah, the day the world remembers the horrors of the Holocaust.
The emotionally charged night of speeches was led by the CEO of the Israeli American Council, the Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations, the Israeli NY Consulate General and Holocaust survivor Tova Friedman.
Member of the Israeli Knesset, Simcha Rothman flew in from Israel to offer strong remarks about the rise of antisemitism and what needs to happen to crush it
The ever changing hostage and ceasefire negotiations in Israel was at the center of the discussions along with warnings from the Israeli delegation about similar words from the 1930’s are now re-appearing throughout college campuses and demonstrations in the United States.
The NYPD was in full force watching closely from all sides of the ceremony and reported no incidents or issues.
