Dogs are amazing. The only species on earth that can communicate so efficiently with us, backed by so much science. After tens of thousands of years of coevolution with humans, they truly have earned the title of man's best friends.

I have always had so much respect for our military men and women. Their homecoming always gets me, but this one with the dogs is very special. They don't understand, they just know their person has been gone and they are so happy to see them! I also appreciate your family's respect for our country!

I'm a 100% Disabled Vet. I live alone (which is why I love your videos). - My VA DR. suggested I get a dog (or any pet, but preferably a dog) for companionship. ... a friend heard that, and they knew someone moving and wanted to know if they knew anyone who would like a dog (Lab mix) ... I agreed to take it. She was home sick for a few days, but after a while, she adjusted to me and my way of living. My son came home to visit and those two got along great. A few weeks later they called me up and said their grandson was crying every day missing the dog and if I could please return her. I agreed and surrendered her to them, but I feel I am much worse shape now then I was before. She didn't want to leave me, and I didn't want her to go, but I can't be responsible for making a child cry either. So, I love dogs, but I don't want anything now as I might only have to say goodbye again. I'm fine by myself.

Hard to place older dogs are waiting for someone like you. Obviously you have love to give and are great dog dad. Painful loss, but companionship and unconditional love are worth it. I hope you reconsider blessing a dog in need. I have sons that are veterans and pets have made a huge difference in their life. Thank you for sharing your story and service.🤗❤️🤍💙

I agree that you should try again with another pet. My cat saved my life. No joke. I have a service dog now and she helps me a lot in public spaces and when I need to go out, but without Django I wouldn't even be here at all. I was going through the hardest time in my life and was very suicidal. I had no friends. My family didn't like me. My boyfriend who i lived with was cheating on me and started treating me like a ghost in our own home. I became anorexic and just started... slipping away. My cat, Django (aka Peep) was just a little kitten at that point (about 4 months old). His mom was killed when he was just 3 weeks old. I had to bottle feed him, keep him warm, and care for him. I'm the only mommy he's ever really known. If I left to go to the store or something for more than an hour or so, he'd get scared wondering where his mama went. I couldn't kill myself because he wouldn't understand. He would have lost a second mother and that wasn't fair. How could I be so selfish as to leave this poor kitten alone AGAIN? So I didn't live for me, I lived for him. The anorexia almost killed me anyways. As time passed and I moved back in with my parents to be on watch and recovery, Django continued to be my rock. Without weight on my chest, I'd stop breathing in my sleep. So he slept on my chest. He would meow at me and bug me to get out of bed when I wanted to just lie there (he still doesn't like when I stay in bed too long. Lol). If I started to get a panic attack or felt sick, he'd come sit with me and purr. He was God's gift to me. He got me through something that I could never have made it through without him. My relationship with my mom is completely turned around. My dad and I get along pretty well now, too. To this day, Django will looks after me and others in our household. He even alerted us to my current boyfriend's pneumonia. He's the reason I pestered him to go to the hospital. He saved him, too. My service dog, Khaleesi, was also a huge gift from God and she has given me such an independence I've never had. But that's a different story. We never know what challenges the future holds for us. It's best to go into them with a friend than try to be strong alone. Even if that friend is only with us for a little while.

So sorry for your loss. My wife and I have lost many fur babies over the years, and non-pet owners really don't understand that the grief of losing a beloved pet is just as real and just as raw as losing a human loved one. Something that has really, really helped us with making it just a tiny bit less painful is to hire someone to come to the house to put our critters to sleep when the time comes. Somehow, letting our precious fur babies pass among all the people they know AND in a place they've known and grown comfortable in makes it a little bit easier. So much easier than having to take them to a strange place and have their last moments be in a sterile and 'harsh' environment filled with so many strange sounds and smells.

You guys have one cute puppy. Soldiers coming home tears me up, but I find joy in that pure love of dogs. I needed this after a long day. Thanks to all service men/women, regardless of where you are from. They sacrifice themselves for their country - not always by their choice. I hope for peace. In the meantime, I pray for their safe return. Sadly, many do not come home. I lost some in NYC on 9/11 and others soon after, and sinced. Others thankfully returned. Sorry for rambling.- JP

We met Duke as a collie puppy...a surprise from our parents. He was everything to us. A few years later, he was stolen. Dad called every police station within a 50 mile radius & received calls of his sightings. The sadness engulfed our everything. Long story shorter, almost 2 weeks later, I heard him on our front porch. He had traveled 40 miles, across the Ohio River, into KY to get home. What a reunion!! He "talked & talked & talked" to us even through a bath. His tail was wagging him. This was in December. The best present ever. I still tear up remembering his return to us. What a blessed gift. He lived a few years longer. We all sobbed when he died. I had another collie when 1st married......oh, she was so loving like Duke, but that's another story! I love seeing the work you all are doing to your house/home.😊

After learning his dog was dying, a 6 year old boy shared his philosophy about why dogs live shorter lives than humans: “People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life - like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?” The Six-year-old continued, “Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don’t have to stay for as long as we do.”

When I joined the Army many years ago, I had a red Doberman, she was just the sweetest, most loving thing. Her name was Sauncie (pronounced SAWN-CIE), a Native American word meaning Morning Star, so I've been told. When I returned from my first tour she went crazy and wouldn't let me out of her sight. It was during my second tour in Germany that she passed and it devastated me. I don't have one now, but might be working on getting a Seizure Response Dog in the next year or so. They really are the best. They let you know you're loved and appreciated, they love you unconditionally, they know when you're not feeling well and are there for you and do the best they can to take care of you. Just amazing critters that sometimes I wonder what we did to deserve them. As always, love your content and your family. Thank you once again for opening up and letting us into your lives and putting a smile, even with the tears, on our faces. You're one of the few channels I truly look forward to and appreciate. From San Diego, CA (a place I hope you all get to visit) much love, best wishes and stay safe.

I loved this video & I also love that you included Kylo. It's so great to see people treat their pets as family members, which is the way it should be. Sadly, our 7-y/o mini doxie, Murphy, was diagnosed with terminal cancer (anal sac adenocarcinoma). Based on the rapid onset of the tumor & the tumor size (golf ball size), along with already abnormal labs, the vet gave him a prognosis of 3-6 mos, but I'm happy to say he's proven her wrong, as it's been nearly 6 mos & he's doing great, with just taking an anti-inflammatory/pain combo med. Every day with him is a blessing! 🙏♥ Edit: Yes, that's Murphy in my profile pic.

I had a dog named Lazer for 18 years. We adopted him when I was 12, he was 10 months old a Pit Lab mix. Last year he died, and it was the worst heartbreak I've ever felt. There were days when I just almost felt like I couldn't breathe it hurt so bad. He went peacefully at home in my arms. He was the sweetest, craziest, cutest dog, and he loved me and my dad his whole life without fail. Those 18 years with him went too fast, but were a gift I'm thankful for every day. Just last month we took in another dog. I'll be honest I wasn't entirely ready, but my dad was and losing Lazer was really hard for him too, he needed a buddy back in his life. So Jack, that's his name Jackson, he's a Catahoula Kur and Lab mix. He's 6 and sweet as can be, and I'm glad he's here with us. He's a good boy. I can really start to feel my heart grow 3 sizes like the grinch lol. I love him, and it's a little hard to admit that, but I'm embracing him and trying to give him all the love and happiness one dog can stand lol.

Just starting the video, from the title I expect to be crying long before the end. It wasn't quite as many tears as I anticipated, but yes, there were tears. I was never separated from dogs due to service, there was a time I didn't have any dogs. A long time ago, I had a dog that got the bad habit of killing our chickens, but I'd had her for a few years, since she was a newborn pup. I had to re-home her, and a friend of mine took her in. She might not see me for months or last time it was over two years. By then she was old, and struggling to even make her way around the house, but when I came to visit she bolted to me as soon as she heard my voice, moving almost as fast as ever. Had I not expected it and knelt down to meet her, she probably would have knocked my legs out from under me (she weighted about 30 kg, so she wasn't exactly tiny)

We live out in the country and Im 34 years old and I can’t recall a time that we didn’t have dogs. We’ve had dogs since before I was even born. People that didn’t want their dogs anymore or couldn’t keep em for whatever reason they would drop em off out here in the middle of nowhere and eventually they’d wander into our property and we always took em in and kept em as pets for ourselves. Best dogs we ever had. Farm dogs have the best life. They’re free to roam around go exploring do whatever they want. They’d always run up and down the crop rows or sometimes they’d sit off to the side of the field and watch us. When we’d be done for the day and take our tractors back to the barn, they’d start trotting along side. They’d watch our property when we went into town. We’d come back they’d be exact place as when we left. Most loyal animals. We had a creek that ran through our pasture and when it gets hot they’d go down for a swim and we’d come outside their fur would be matted and muddy and we knew “oh y’all been down by the creek huh” lol 😂 Best dog we ever had was a mix we named Dixie. She was the sweetest most loving angel. I know everyone says that about their dog but she truly was unique. I’ve never known a dog as good as loving as loyal as well behaved as intelligent she was everything you could want in a dog. You could sit and talk to her about anything and she’s look up at you with the most sympathetic eyes, she’d put her paw on your lap, she could understand every word you talk to her. She was so empathic. She was always by your side, always sit with you, always follow you. She was an angel. We still think about her often. I will remember her until the day I die. She was truly an angel. 🐶 🐕

I have 2 dogs now, Lost my 15 year old Labrador/Shepherd mix on November 4th 2021. We got one very soon after he passed, however unintentionally. We needed some therapy as we lost our child (we have no children) and went to the dog pound. The 5th dog we saw for some play and petting was his twin and she gave me the EXACT SAME LOOK as he did when he was on his way out of this world, I SWORE we was not getting another until we healed, But that look got me I instantly cried (wept) like a baby, she came home with us. Then just 6 months after we got her a friend to play with as we was not ready for a younger dog and was having a tough time keeping up. Anyway we now have a Labrador/Shepherd mix and a Boxer/PitBull mix The Lab/Shep is 1 and 1/2 and her name is Angel because she is Dexter's Angel that he sent to us, and the Boxer/PitBull mix is Rocky and he is 1 year now just two weeks ago had his birthday. While I miss Dexter and still shed tears for him quite often Angel, and Rocky are great dogs and very loving and kind. Thanks for this video I shed quite a few tears giving me memories of how Dexter was after all my major surgeries he went through with me, God I miss him. Thanks again.

DOGS = UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. Your dog is very sweet. My dog was half black lab and half Norwegian Elkhound. My dad's dog, a Cocker/German Shepherd/Collie mixture and would ride with him and guarded the truck when he went in for coffee. He would turn into a fiery beast if someone came near it. Dad taught him to wave, which he later regretted because he locked the doors on my dad at least twice and since he left his keys in the car, he had to call home to get back in. My dad never parked the truck in the sun and always rolled the windows down a little.

They say in general dogs are the only animal that are capable of loving us more than their own selves! We have a 2 yr old German Shepard named Maverick, if my husband or I go somewhere he lays by the door until whoever left comes home, only leaving his post to check on the other one occasionally lol 😂 He loves the dog park & has so many fans (the dogs & people) he takes up for the smaller dos & breaks up fights no matter how the big the other dog is, I think it’s in GS nature. When we leave we just whistle or call him once & start walking for the gate & he comes running.Other people have to call & call their dog or chase them down so they think he’s so well behaved & really it’s about us not getting out of his eye sight! 😊 He’s sweet & gentle with me & rougher with my husband hehe & we absolutely adore him & spoil him rotten! ❤ oh & hi from Texas! There's a video on You tube of a girl coming home to her family (it isn't a military homecoming) but she was away for several years and the little dog was so emotional it fainted. You may want to just watch it for yourselves, search dog fainting or something to that effect. Your sweet little dog was happy to be watching with all his family.

Your Kilo and my Oreo would be instant best friends. Oreo is a Chihuahua/Heeler mix. He's the size of a Chihuahua but acts more like a heeler. He is mostly cookies and cream color (white with dappled black spots) with a few bigger black "oreo" spots that are bigger. He is the sweetest dog ever! He herds his toys to stand sentry and watch for us to come home or to watch out the front door for trespassers (like neighborhood cats, for example). He lines them up right in a row every time. It's the cutest thing! His favorite thing to do though is to run at the local dog park. It's divided between the big and little dogs. He loves to race the bigger dogs along the fence line. Earlier today, he took on a Great Dane. She just trotted along probably thinking, "What a cute and fast little puppy!" But he thought she looked like some challenging competition, lol.

Thanks for another great video. Dogs do make our lives so much better. I am a D.A.V. with two Service Dogs. Zeke is 10, a Lab/Border Collie cross, and retired although he refuses to accept that. Valor is 3 a Golden Retriever who is at my side through everything. When I am home they try to out do each other by helping me. Valor is more careful when he helps remove a jacket or socks while Zeke wants it done quickly and efficiently. when they bring me a bottle of water or juice Valor will carefully place it in my hand while Zeke throws it at me as he barks to tell me to hurry up and drink it. My life has been blessed by many dogs over the years and each one has taken a piece of my heart and gifted me a piece of theirs. I figure by the time I leave this life my heart will be a patchwork quilt. Everyone deserves a special fur friend in their life.

Love these videos, I had a German Shepherd who was the greatest. She would be there for myself and my mum whilst my dad served in the British navy, as a engineer for 16 years. She helped my mum to look me when I was a baby, when ever my dad was away for six months at a time.

I love when the dog is like "STRANGER DANGER!" for a second and then they get so excited that their human just wants to hug them and they can't stop wiggling :3 I get a bit of this when I go back to my parents house once a year for Christmas.

I have a 6 year old female Chihuameranian (part Chihuahua, part Pomeranian) named Nikki Sixx (named after my favorite member of the band Mötley Crüe). She's my furry best friend, and she's gotten me through so much in 6 years. Especially since March of 2021, when I was diagnosed with breast cancer (which I thankfully beat October 19th last year). And then I beat Gynocological Cancer on September 6th, of this year. She's like my emotional support animal. I don't know what I'd do without her. 😊

I have a Doxie named Lucy after the famous Lucille Ball. When I leave and come back she wags her tail and jumps up and at times she tries to even smile. It’s so weird how she pulls back her lips that you know she’s trying to smile because she’s so happy seeing me. Dogs are like our kids. They just can’t speak but they sometimes give more love, unconditional love, to us than humans. Thank you for this video and for sharing your dogs love for you in that small clip.

My wife and I share our home with 4 fur babies. One dog and three cats. Our dog's name is B'Elanna (named after the Star Trek character) and she's a Jack Russell / Boxer mix. She's a little bigger than a Jack Russell, but a little smaller than a Boxer. She's got all the physical characteristics of the Boxer, only smaller. She's got some of the energy of a Jack Russell, along with the white around her mouth and a little tuft of white hair on top of her head. Her nickname is "Pup" or "Nana." (Pronounced "nah-nah".) We also have our three cats, all boys. Their names are Leonardo (Leo for short); nicknamed "Porkchop" because he a fatso - we also call him "Ding-Dong" sometimes because he's a ding-dong. Then we've got Echo, nicknamed "Boob" because he's a boob. Lastly we have Charlie Brown (Charles, for short) and his nickname is "Derp" because he's literally a derp. Love all of them immensely and wouldn't trade any of them for any amount of money.

I always thought I was a big dog person, but in high school I rescued a chihuahua who had been abused since he was born, kicked, left on a chain, neglected, starved. He even walked with a funky skip hop from a never treated fractured hip. He was my baby. 2 pounds when I got him, bones, once healthy he weighed 8 pounds. For a chihuahua, 6 pounds is a huge difference. At 21 I joined the army and my father in law mostly took care of him as that’s who he bonded too aside from me. When I came home after 5 months of training, I came down stairs, he started barking at the “intruder” but he was under the blanket on the couch. I said hey buddy, he froze, for like 5 seconds, then in a fury was trying to get out from under the blanket and was just so so happy I was back, loved me to death. Unfortunately I only had 14 days and then I went away again for a year.

My daughter went to Florida with a friend for just two weeks last year, and when she got home, our dog was a crying, butt shaking, spinning in circles, hot mess!!! She didn’t even know what to do with herself and she couldn’t get close enough to my daughter! It was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen, and that was just two weeks!

I grew up with dogs, as my dad loved cats, but my mom was allergic to cats. When they divorced, I was 7, my sister was 9, my brother was 10. My mom had dogs all her life, and my dad went back to cats after the divorce. My sister was a dog family until this past year, and my brother always had cats. I have always had cats as an adult..along with gerbils, fish/eels at various times...but always cats. Yes, dogs show excitement and joy in very obvious, grande ways, all movement, noise, and sloppy licks, jumping on you, and barks. Agreed..it is great. HOWEVER, cats are absolutely affectionate and express missing us, too. They just do it in a less noisy and 'look at me' way. They will rub on you with their cheeks, closing their eyes in pleasure, purr, tap at your shoulder or knee with a sheathed-claw paw, ever so gently to get your attention. They will nuzzle into my armpit with their noses, surrounding themselves with my scent. If that is not showing you how much they like you, I don't know what is! Cats will also do what I call 'pony nuzzles'. A cat's nose feels like a horse's nose...all velvety and soft. One of my current cats, Raspy, aka King Rasputin, wakes me before dawn every morning by pony nuzzling my nose until I respond. A cold, wet, velvety little nose, just bonking and nuzzling your nose. Very intimate feeling, actually, of love and looking out for each other. If I don't get up, he keeps doing it, every minute or so, until I get up, go to the bathroom, then give wet food to him and Smudge, aka Princess Smudge, his 'sister'. Btw, they always have dry food available, so he isn't starving! When I've been gone for several hours and get home, they both follow me from room to room, and settle down in whatever room I do. They stick close, like they miss my vibe and just want to be around me. They either sleep, bathe, or want to play..but they are in the room I'm in for the rest of the evening, once I'm home. When a cat trusts you, they will either take a bath or sleep near or on you. The whole eye kissing thing is so obvious how they feel. Part of the eye kissing with cats, is that when you do it to them, it tells them you trust them enough to close your eyes around them, and they will not harm me...and that is what it tells humans when cats do it to us. They meow for humans, too. I've seen cats excited to see someone they haven't seen in awhile, do the running back and forth things, meowing loudly, looking at the person...that is the same as a dog doing it, you know. Just more reserved, I suppose LOL. They get vocal when excited to see you, that is for sure! Do a video of watching cats welcoming long gone people! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/brhki5mbnNrUh3U.html

I have 3 dogs. Max who is my 9 year old long haired chihuahua, Ruger who is 7 and is American bulldog and dalmatian mix and my 2 year old teacup chihuahua. Love when I come home and the greet me, it's the greatest thing in the world to see how happy they are to see me again. Especially when I have had a long hard day at work. Or when there is a hard time going on in life they each know how to snuggle and love on me to comfort me in their own way

I can’t imagine life without dogs. I’ve had them all my life. Lost some along the way, of course, which is always horrible. But never once felt the urge not to keep the love going with new ones. I have 3 currently - 2 Yorkies (Murphy and Pepper), and a Shi Tzu (Nala), all are 4-6 now. Nala is my girl; when I came home from a week in the hospital this summer from back surgery, she literally cried. I had never heard her do that before. The others were beside themselves with excitement too, but Nala was the most overjoyed. Our family has gone through a split over the past couple of years, but the dogs have been absolutely by my side through it all. If it hadn’t been for them, I’d have come unglued. I think sometimes that God talks to me through them, it’s uncanny how connected they are to my feelings and thoughts.

We have three house dogs, Callie, Rigsby and Joonie. We have two coon hunting dogs (outside in a pen but they have a nice enclosure), Magnum and Maverick. Callie is an American mutt. Rigsby is a golden-doodle and Joonie is a Berna-doodle. We also have a ginger cat that picks on the dogs. Every day when my dad gets back in, they pounce on him. The cat sleeps in my bedroom I share with 3 brothers and usually in my bed. The dogs sleep with my parents. We love dogs in my family. All of our pets are rescue animals.

It's great to watch tge reaction of dogs they have just so much love for us humans. I have 2 dogs one is a Bichon his name is Brody and the other is miniature schnauzer and his name is Toby and they were literally my life savers. I lost my mom in 2012 than in Oct 2020 we lost my dad. He was in a nursing home and by the date you can see it was during Covid and we had been able to see him since the end of Feb 2020. Even though we all called him everyday he didn't understand my siblings or I hadn't been to see him due to he had dementia he didn't remember from one day to the next. I lived only a mile from the nursing home which made it the worse. At 9:30 on Tue Oct 20th my oldest sister called and said to go to the nursing home dad didn't have long. He was in a place where he didn't respond to me nit because of Covid but to a series of small strokes he had during the day but the staff hadn't realized. He passed away at 11:43 just 2 hours after the staff calling. I felt so guilty about not seeing him all that time I was really in a bad spot but my 2 fur babies got me through. Thank you for sharing all your family with us. God bless!

I can remember this one time my family we were on a marine corps base in California and when we went to my grandmas farm in NY, I remember the dog was so happy to see us that he pulled me to the ground 😆 - he was such a good dog tho. He was blind and deaf so he really relies our scent. But he was so happy.
