Courtney it is so much different today than it was when I returned from Vietnam. We couldn't even walk around with our uniform on without being spit on and called baby killers and other names. I have no regrets for doing what I felt was the proper thing to do. Even though I no longer wear the uniform I would not hesitate to do it again. I do appreciate your passion for our military. Don't ever stop posting your videos and hopefully I will one day get to meet you in person. Stay Safe.

@@anderson74 I was in US Navy. I appreciate the thank you but IMO we were the safest of everyone in Desert Storm. We sat in a "box" in the Red Sea playing body guard to an aircraft carrier and if needed do a quick run to launch a few TLAMs. I was thanking the guys with boots on the ground, they were the ones in danger, IMO we had it kinda easy. But thank you all the same.

I remember how I felt when my dad was gone and how I felt when he returned. It was lonely, he would be gone for at least a year or more and when he surprised us or we went to meet him I always rammed right into him giving him the hardest hug I could. Sometimes I'd cry. Once me and my siblings weren't allowed to join the usual video call with dad because this time you could hear bombs going off. His camp/base was being bombed suddenly, it's was a scary time. He's served many years there and finally retired from them a few years back. He works at Boeing completely now. Those of us kids(I'm 25 now) who had parents that served are called military brats😁. We had a stuffed "animal" shaped like a military person that had a clear plastic sleeve on the face so you could put your parents face in it to cuddle with when they're gone🥰.

I certainly know how they feel. From a small town in Indiana I joined the army and served as a helicopter door gunner in Vietnam. i counted the days until i would be back home. After i was discharged a week early my plan was to surprise my family. Well, the joke was on me. I returned to Indiana and found out the entire family had moved to Texas months earlier without informing me. That was a bit sad, but it was a long time ago. it was a different time and a different war. Perhaps I should have expected it, but not from family.
