Trout Hunting NZ

2 жыл бұрын

So this is Day 2 on New Zealand's best Trophy Trout river. possibly even best in the world. While comparatively, it was slow compared to Day 1 Opening Day, Me and my Buddy Lance had an absolute Blast Chasing these mega-sized Trophy Rainbow trout from tricky pocket water.
Hope you enjoy it.

Apparently the conditions in New Zealand are perfect for the trout to grow big, oxygen levels, good food, clean water, conservation programmes, water temperatures, climate temperatures, all combine for great environment for the trout. I'm pretty sure these big rainbows live most of the time in a lake where they grow big, and these guys are catching them during their spawning run into the river - the fish look like spawners, based on coloration and the big kypes on the males.

It seems this was the Tekapo hydro canals - there are some Salmon farms, so wild & escaped salmon & trout get huge on food that drifts out. So yeah, not so much to do with the natural environment in this case.
