WE’RE JASON AND NIKKI WYNN. A couple of modern-day documentarians, perpetual travelers, and seekers of tall tales.
We’ve been chasing our curiosity around the world on wheels and keels since 2011. Why? Because curiosity is the key to unlocking life. It pushes us outside our comfort zone, softens our assumptions, and helps us embrace the great unknown. The more we let our curiosity lead the way, the more we discover about ourselves and the world around us.
Our home is also our transportation and we spend weeks away from civilization and sometimes land. Self-reliance and living a sustainable lifestyle are a must. It's all about managing our resources and we’re always looking for new and better ways to do so.
We've lived off the grid for over 10 years now in everything from a Van to RV to a Sailboat. And over time we have learned a lot about renewable energy, creating safe drinking water, and managing our waste.
Our journey is ever-evolving but the mission remains the same: #CultivateCuriosity

It is heartwarming to read this post. I am happy to know you get such a great benefit from the fortunes of this selfless couple. Some do not realize how showing others a part of your travelling life can benefit others. Not all people can travel. What l like is they show it as it is, not some glamorous five star resort.

So regarding that Cardrona fence, 200 of those were removed in early 2006 by other locals who felt the attraction was an eyesore. The local council actually ruled in their favor and ordered it to be removed (which led to even more of them removed). In response to this, a festival in nearby Wanaka that year tried to do the world record of the longest bra chain. They reached 7.4K bras, which was over 71K short of the world record which was held then by a Singaporean group with 79,001 bras (who raised for breast cancer awareness) since 2002. It has since been broken twice by an Aussie group in 2009 with 166,625 bras and Athena's Cup (another breast cancer awareness group) in Rhode Island with 196,564 bras in 2019. The NZ group trying to break the record is also doing it to raise for breast cancer awareness.

Seeing payphones is definitely nostalgic. Living in the NYC suburbs, I've been on countless NYC trips, and payphones used to be a fixture of the city. They removed the last one in the entire city in Times Square back in May. Now replaced with a free WiFi kiosk system called LinkNYC Fun fact, those alps are home to the world's only alpine parrot, the kea. They're in the genus Nestor, and a part of the New Zealand endemic parrot superfamily Strigopoidea alongside the kākāpō (a bird famous for thinking a nature photographer was a female that it tried to mate with it). The kea is known as the world's smartest bird because of their curiosity, though the locals call them the Clown of the Alps because of how cheeky they are.

That was a beautiful night sky you captured. Light pollution has really spoiled many areas. Back in the '80s I was on a small cruise ship in the Pacific approaching Figi. I asked if all the ships lights could be turned off. We got all turned off but the small navigation lights for 30 minutes. What an experience to see such a sky. I was up on deck 30 minutes ahead of time with my eyes closed to get acclimated to the dark. Thank you for such nice videos.

Wow wow wow. I almost cried watching this. I am an Australian, and hitchiked and worked around NZ 45 years ago for a year. I absolutely loved the South Island. And walked those same paths to the Glaciers. I also walked the Milford and Routeburn tracks. To me, NZ is the closest thing to Heaven on Earth. Anyone who loves nature is well advised to spend a month or more there. I appreciate the effort you put into the cinematography to capture the beauty.

FYI- There are literally an uncounted number of glaciers. They are not disappearing. They have always advanced and retreated. Sea Ice is up massively in the past 20 years as are many glaciers. Don't believe the Carbon Dioxide propaganda-- we had an ICE AGE (EG: WORLD COVERED IN GLACIERS) with CO2 levels 10 times what they are now!

No smog or any kind of pollution that we can sea/see...A pun for Jason. ..... lol.... Looks like crisp clean environment where I could live like a Queen inside my own brain with no neighbors that think they own the whole 5 acres you own. Long story that no one cares about, but me. The lady doesn't even own the house. It's her sisters house. When people have money they think you should bow @ there feet. Not this lady. I fight for the under dog. I want to thank y'all for your videos/travels. I can't even afford food/my medications half the time. Therefore y'all are my escape from my turmoil of reality. The videos are a blessing & thank you two for that. Watching your videos is a great escape from what's going on here in the USA & the world. So many senseless deaths & corrupt people in the world & people are clueless. So thanks for the escape from reality. Please don't stop. You really are helping people that you don't even know & can't travel themselves. I have a question for you two if you could answer it, it would be greatly appreciated. HAVE YOU EVER SEE UFO's DURNING ALL THESE YEARS OF TRAVELING? Please be truthful to us, your subscribers 🙏. Thank you & please be safe & God bless you two, Chris from Missouri

Mr. Jay I said before your photography serpasses many. But that starry night shot took me back when we brought fatherless kids camping for the first time. Never seeing shooting stars or spending overnight in a state forest. Few Army buddies taking time out to share with city kids that have never seen the milky way. 10 boys 10-12 will never forget and I hope after all these years, I wonder if any went out exploring or took up photography after. We need to get out and enjoy the sky and land before we get to old. thx guys.

His wonderful to be ab,E to travel this incredible road trip around the South Island of NZ with two genuinely open minded excited explorers. I can almost feel your wonder and appreciation of the beautiful, largely unspoiled, terrain. Such green, the sea power, mountainous grandeur and the sorrow of shrinking glaciers. Joy and loss, what we here in the green Somerset valley I’m fortunate to live in, are feeling in the loss of our beloved Queen Elizabeth. How far the glaciers have retreated since she was born so many years ago. She too was a country lover, a mountain and hill walker in far off remote places. It’s such a lovely expression of all that is simply real and yet grand in a calm and serene way…. Very comforting at this time of parting from someone we have loved and admired for so long. Nothing last forever we understand, but oh the wonder of nature and love of family and friends. You too have lived through some very challenging times in your lives so understand the ‘size of loss’. Thank you for expressing all of that so beautifully in your own loving way. I appreciate your peaks into NZ paradise very much this morning 😍
