This is the land that inspired Tolkien in Lord of the Rings! During our stay, we will also do an exceptional hike in the heart of this volcanic region of Mangatepopo via the Red Crater Pass (1886m). Spectacular volcanoes, such as Ngauruhoe (2291 m) and Tongariro (1967 m), dominate a magnificent landscape of craters and lakes with surprising colours.
