There is nothing more than a tangled jungle, lianas and branches or trunks have been used by many species by way of suspension bridges, zip lines and platforms.
Discover how different species have been able to develop large and different ways of mobility and hunting.
The animals came to it by force of evolution, we, as it forces our brain, we should learn it and did it as many times staring at nature.

Meanwhile, the majority of orcas (pretty much any breed of dolphin actually), almost all apes (especially chimps), elephants, wild canines, almost all felines (even domesticated cats play with creatures as they slowly kill them), and even many bears. I don't really see the point in saying something like that frankly. Maybe go learn a bit more about the animal kingdom as a whole and also go learn basic statistics while you are at it

The spider didn't let the prey go because of 'humanity'. It did because something hanging from its web could give it away and prevent other preys from falling into it, or even worse destroy the web if it became too heavy. There is no 'humanity' in nature, unless there is a mutual benefit for both.

Conway The spider is doing what it was predisposed to by Natural Selection. Rather then let a large cumbersome pray contort in the net and destroy his net further, the spider cuts a piece of it out. This behaviour is common with net-building spiders. Building an entire net or entangling the prey one cannot eat is a bigger energy investment than cutting and re-patching the existing net.

What else was the spider going to do? It couldn't eat the frog and it didn't want it in the web deterring any other possible meals. The only thing to do was to set it free. It didn't do it out of kindness, just necessity. By the way, a spider is an arachnid not a human, so it cannot have *humanity*
@777Skeptic

The spider cut the frog loose for for a completely selfish reason. The frog was just messing up the web, and the vibrations were probably annoying. The frog was probably also making the web more conspicuous, and deterring flies. The spider might not even be smart enough to realize all this. It's probably just running an AI script that evolution programmed in it.

Good call by the spider. If the frog just hanged there, not only would it give away the stealthness of the web, it might attract unnecessary attention from unwanted animals, such as the birds or snakes. Unlike venom, poison on the frog skin takes a while to degenerate, so keeping it there would work against the spider. Furthermore, the spider needed to repair the web to catch the other preys.

Lol yeah, bro. Everyone in the comments being all sassed up over nothing. There are practical benefits of cutting it loose. It might catch the attention of even larger creatures, who will then eat the frog AND the spider. Or a decomposing corpse might spell trouble. Or its weight might be messing up the web. Or it's a dead giveaway to potential prey, that there's a fucking web set up there. It might receive retaliation if the frog calls for its mates. Why waste energy for all that? A simple arachnid doesn't have philisophy. It acts based on survival. And it cut the frog loose for its survival, nothing more.

People should probably realize that spider didn't let that frog go, because he was such an kind hearted creature. Don't be so guilllable. He simply let it go, because of 2 reasons. 1. He has no use for it, and he wouldn't waste his venom on something he can't eat later. 2. It would take too much place on his net, and scared other pray away. This even doesn't prove that animals are kind, but smart.

Pterodaktol Daktopterol No, it's the mind of a human, that makes it for something that it isn't. Remeber those news, where lioness adopted a baby gazella? It was cute wasn't it, right? Everyone was taking about how enchanting it is....except that in reality, that lion had some mental breakdown that forced it to see that gazella as it's cub or somethign close to it. Gazella as well, doesn't have happy life, since because of lioness it cannot eat, drink and isn't capable of joining other gazellas, so it's basicly dying alone and hungry.

i used to flick my cigarette ash on a spiders web at my work, the spider would always pounce on it and once it realized it wasn't prey it would remove it every time and drop it on the floor. Although its nice to believe the spider had compassion for the frog, i believe it was really just clearing its web so it wasn't getting any false signals.

Mark M Haha I used to do the same thing at my workplace. It was interesting to see how they came, picked up the ash, looked at it for a bit, and then throw it away in disgust. :))

Is it just me, or is that spider not helping the frog to be friendly, but rather because it doesn't want a struggling vat of deadly toxins hanging around its home? Just sayin'

Actually, the spider wanted the web to be freed so that it can use it to catch another useful prey. It was not just about toxins hanging around but efficiency in managing the silk web and space constraints

Justin Ferrell Im not an expert but i think spiders only have a finite amount of venom stored which takes time and energy to replenish and considering the size of the prey it would probably taken a large amount of venom to kill which is why it may be careful about what it uses its venom on. Once it found out it could not eat the frog, it chucked the frog so it could repair its web and make room for things it can actually eat. Just my opinion though

Totally right, videos commentary is crap. Nature doesnt waste, so if a predators kill something and doesnt eat it, nature will taken it anyways.
