Love this video April. I'm also having my second baby and agree with a lot of your buys. I'm going to try out the Baby Diego as another option for our room since bath time with my daughter was a pain and we used our bed which was lower to change her, this should make both things easier.

April I definitely think this video was so helpful! I think you sharing having patience and not to compare your child to other children or your older children shows how considerate you are to parents. Those are some true tips !

Hi April, the most important thing that you mentioned in this video was to have patience. Our children feel our energy. If we are in a bad mood they will be in a bad mood. Sometimes, I feel that when a parent gets frustrated with he child. The frustration has nothing to do with what the child is doing. Great Video!!

As a new mother to my 4 month baby this video is helpful toa new moms because I really had no idea what to buy for my son in the beginning or what he really needed. A good way to clip a baby's nails is when they're sleep that's how I do my baby girl

Eh. Second time mom here and alot of things here are a luxury, not a necessity. Your only true must haves are car seat, diapers, wipes, and onsies (And honestly, the burp cloths and swaddling blankets are nice and useful). Newborns (0-3 months) don't need to do tummy time. The world is still new and scary. They need your touch and voice. When they cry you need to attend to them immediately, bc you are establishing trust. Basically your baby's real needs are not material at this point. Yes, you can get a swing and some babies love them. Mine didn't but alot do. My babies didn't even take pacifiers, so I had 20 laying around the house not being used. If you are pregnant, don't feel pressure to go and buy all that baby crap. Especially if you are a young couple or a single parent. When its time for them to have their tummy time, you can use a clean sheet or blanket. You can use dollar store dishtowels for burp cloths. Save your resources. U might need some of it when they are a little older but not in the initial newborn stage. You don't need a fancy designer baby bag. A good ol jansport will probably serve you better. I just feel like all these baby must have videos set a material expectation that most normal people can't meet. Love them, talk to them, hold them. They aren't going to remember that u had the most in style stroller, but they will know who they can count on and who really loves them. But I'm glad she mentioned patience. Get some. You'll need it.

I understand where your coming from to a certain extent but there really is no need to post an entire essay stating shes too materialistic with her baby-must haves. If that's what SHE uses and feels is necessary for HER to make looking after a newborn either better or easier then that's her opinion. She isn't telling you to go take out a bank loan and buy all this shit. Each to their own. Feel free to post your own video about you think is essential for a newborn but this platform is for people to share their own opinion, and from the size of her following, I'd say a lot of people like what she's putting out.

Lol realize you said she doesn’t need all these thing but still give alternatives for the things she bought. I guess she does need it🤔 a fancy diaper bag or an old jansport well it’s her decision if she wants a fancy one. I don’t get it.

I see it like this. I can afford, I want to enjoy my child entirely even when it comes to the nice stuff, I want to get all my baby needs and more, I can. Why not? Now that’s on a hand and love and affection is on the other. Of course our love, affection and attention is first priority it’s something we will definitely do every second a day. Does that mean to not buy some really cute, useful and new items on the market? No. Why not? If i can afford. I’m obsessed mama, I get it all but I don’t go too much. I WANT a diaper bag for a diaper bag, I want a rocking chair instead of me rocking all the time while I need to have things done. Does that mean I’m materialistic? Or my baby cares or not? No. If I can a swing for however (I wouldn’t go above 130-150) and I see my baby loving it, it’s all worth it for me. Yes he can always get love from me, but the baby enjoy some stuff. We work to provide. We provide on how our budget is. I want to give the best to my baby, weather it’s “material” items, education or love and affection. As long as I can afford I will! I feel like you probably couldn’t afford these “luxury” items so it doesn’t sit light with you.

Thank you so much for sharing April. My little one is 17mo. and the biggest tip from your video that I can relate to is to NOT COMPARE your baby to others as every baby is different. I was nervous too when hearing other kids walking as soon as they turned 1 but mine didn't take her first step until 14months and eating far less than what they recommend online. I am a lot happier now, appreciating and knowing she's unique and will eventually hit every milestone :) Us moms though, we worry about everything!

Yes when my babies were newborns I always use the thicker cheaper receiving blankets as burp cloths because I was ended up with so many of those from baby showers and friends and everything!

Aww yess i totally agree with books my daughter is 10 months and loves books! Although of course babies get distracted and dont have a long attention span so i still read even though shes getting into something or i bring back to sit down with me lol i too am very passionate about kids enjoying books. And it breaks my heart because my nieces are growing not even trying or being interested in learning when my husband and I try to teach them certain things to read. Youre doing a great job!

To wash the ring sling: place it into a pillow case and then toss the whole thing into a zip up laundry mesh bag (like one to use for baby socks, bras, etc). Then wash with a plush blanket in the washer too, on delicate. The ring won’t be damaged and with these precautions it won’t ding up your washer! Then use an extra spin cycle to remove as much of the water as possible, and air dry. Voila!

I hate my diaper genie. The smell comes out everytime I open it. It has a built in sharpener that is supposed to cut the bags, however after 2 months...it's dull and we have to keep a pair of scissors nearby. And the door doesn't even close nicely anymore. There is always a gap when you close the big door.

Thankyou for sharing this video! It has helped me a lot, and you’re so right on the advice towards the end! Not comparing yourself to other moms, and not comparing your child’s development with other kids can be hard. Being a mom does mean you worry about everything, even things you can’t control. I’m currently going through that with my son, he is 2.5 and still not walking yet, he was born very premature so he has always been delayed. We actually just found out he has mild CP, and he has been going to therapy for over a year now. But I know that he will walk when he’s ready too! But sometimes I get negative comments from other parents or other children that aren’t the nicest things to say. And it does bother me. But anyways, I loved this video so much thanks for the newborn tips, it was a good reminder, as I just found out I’m expecting baby #2. 💙

this is my second video about what I need for the baby or even for the hospital. Scheduled to have a csection in two days and now I feel like I am not ready at all!! I completely agree with the boppy. My LO loved his and that was the only way we could not have to hold him while he slept was have him in a swaddle or the boppy during naptimes. I talk about that on my channel "Mommy Randoms" as well.
