@@melijellybelly Very true! :) Plus, I think their developmental pace within each area reflect their personalities (in a broader sense). My daughter is super good with social interaction and communication, but she is also very sceptical and controlled in all her actions. My mother says I did that too. She used to put me to sleep with my belly up and would find me with with by belly down (I don’t if that’s the right expression in English). It drove her crazy because people told her babies shouldn’t sleep with their bellys down. So she stayed up to put me back to sleep with my belly up. When she told the pediatrician he told her it was ok of I was doing it on my so many times.

Not THAT amazing. If you lay a newborn on its mommy's tummy after birth they will make their way up to the breast (breast crawl). If a baby is angry enough or uncomfortable enough it can be strong enough with its arms to push up a little on the side (fist and straight arm when uncomfortable), then since the head of a baby is so big compared to its body, the momentum will actually allow the baby to fall back onto its back. As you can see, it wasn't strong enough to get completely on its back. Its head wasn't in the right place or position to allow their upper back and head to lay flat when they fell over. These are just the wonderful world of baby reflexes. Survival traits from eons ago.

I can honestly say each of my kids did different things when it came to hitting milestones as babies. When my oldest son was 13hrs old he held his head for 45min (next month he turns 19 yes I'll be the first mom to admit I cry at every year when comes to there bdays no matter how old they are they'll ALWAYS be my babies) with my second (who was 11 days late came on the best day of all he turns 15 on canada day) not even 2min after he was born he stopped crying I'm freaking out my sister and grandma (God rest her wonderful soul) and my sister told me to relax he was just looking around I knew automatically that he was going to be my shy serious minded little man the minute he turned 5mths old his first 3 teeth grew at the same time. Then theres my beautiful daughter (who turns 14 in oct) I had no idea I was preggo with her until 23wks 5days 10wks later my membranes ruptured and uterus tore she came in at a decent weight the milestones she surpassed were hard to keep up with: independent, holding her bottle at 2mths old, first 2 teeth at 4mths,standing and holding furniture 6mths, and my personal favorite memory taking her first steps clear across the living room she didnt topple over, had no fingers to help guide her, she sat down at the end table and emptied everything out she was 1wk away from her first bday. She has 2bdays one at home with me my sister and her 2 big brothers the second party aas at my sister's and besides her cousins and big brothers she was the only baby walking a friend of ours had her oldest son 3wks before my daughter was born and he tried yanking my daughter down and she didnt want any of it so she turned around and clocked him she developed a huge taste of joining her big brothers in playing.

Yes, it happens with babies this young. Both of mine done it as early as a few weeks old. This one even flipped on his tummy, and not just back, before 2 months. They just wiggle so much but they have no intent to do it. A rooting wiggly baby is more likely to turn. That's why I swaddle as they can't wiggle over. Although, babies who learned to turn on purpose shouldn't be swaddled for safety reasons. Just in case!
