Games like this are the reason foreigners used to love English /British football and often prefer it to their own ; pulsating from first whistle to last, no quarter asked or given, yet with plenty of skill on display too, (thanks in no small measure to the foreign players). That front three of Shearer, Ferdinand and Beardsley should surely have been the England front three. But boy, what an atmosphere!
