I already was 99% sure I was getting Eyhance. I watched this twice and am amazed with your knowledge and how much you actually enjoy the precision in which you do your job. thanks.

Tecnis eyhance has any disadvantages-such as contrast reduction, light scatter, etc in any distance- in comparison to Tecnis 1 piece monofocal?

Thank you for an excellent discussion on the Eyhance lens. My ophthalmologist has recommended this lens and your discussion has added clarity to my decision. For my cataract surgery my initial choice was the Vivity lens because of its extended depth especially at the intermediate range but I will have a discussion with my Doctor about the Eyhance with a possible offset. Thanks.

We implant in our clinic 40-50% multifocal lenses and 20-30% toric Monofocal. Most times ZLB/ZKB/ZMB(toric). These lenses work perfect. Could we use the Eyhance in glaucoma eyes or eyes with macula problems? Would these patients recognize a loss of contrast sensivity?

In 2 hours I go for the Eyhance implant in my right eye because of a cataract Left eye cataract surgery with astigmatism in 2 weeks. I chose Eyhance because I wanted to not have nighttime driving problems and I wanted intermediate and distant. Multifocus lens worries me with halos, starburst, glare, and nighttime contrast problems. In the last 6 months I am experiencing starburst and halos and problems with oncoming traffic and hate it. Hoping for the best.

How’s it going with the Eyhance?

@@yesenia7950 Honestly, I don't know if I see the glass half full or half empty. Some pros, some negatives, some trade offs. Without glasses 4 feet and beyond is excellent. Up close even though objects look bright and contrast is fine I can tell by eye strain that I need to put on glasses to focus on lettering or fine print even though I can see most print without glasses. I am 70 and even though I wish I was still 20 it is what it is. Body parts wear out and artificial parts are replaced. At times I can tell when shifting sight quickly at different distances I can tell my eyes are having a harder time focusing on up close objects for a second especially without glasses. Again not like a 20 year old. Biggest pros it beats having cataracts and colors and contrast are excellent. Nighttime driving is excellent because it is so bright and contrast of objects is sharp. However oncoming headlights can be a bit bright. The biggest negative comes with the tradeoffs. The lens is not tinted so everything is brighter. I can see every speck of dust, every wrinkle. shaving in the mirror is brighter, and even cloudy rainy days are brighter. I use less lighting in my house now than I did before. With this non tint comes a negative. At times it seems too bright. On rainy cloudy days my eyes feel relaxed but on sunny days my eyes go into a hard squint to cut out some of the brightness. I need to put on sunglasses to make my eyes relaxed. Again tradeoffs. What is most important to you? I live in western Pa. so the brightness in winter is nice but maybe too bright in summer. For now if I am outside I don't wear glasses but I carry glasses with me if I need to do something up close. If I am at the computer sometime I wear glasses sometime I don't. If you want to just wear glasses all the time you can do that too. I don't know if there is a perfect lens. Had I gone with a multi focal lens I didn't want to chance nighttime halo's and lack of contrast with nighttime driving. I never see anyone ever discussing tint or no tint lens. That is probably the biggest issue about this lens for me. Good luck.

Not sure if you'll see this question or not as all others seem to have been overlooked in the comments section.... In any case, do you think the Eyhance lens can be paired in a mixed arrangement with a standard mono-focal lens and set to, say, -1.0 to gain reading vision in a sort of blended vision strategy? If not, why not?

they talk specifically about successful monovision pairings in the range of -0.50 to -1.50 diopter offsets. more specific than that should be discussed with your surgeon :)

l am thinking of going with vivity IOL , but l am worried Vivity has lower contrast then Eyhance. Does Eyhance have much better contrast and distance vision quality then vivity. Does eyhance and vivity both have similar intermediate or does vivity give much more intermediate vision? My main aim is to have excellent distance vision and enough intermediate not to need glasses for daily things like shaving, making a meal or reading car dashboard

@@rcsatary1751 l went with vivity and very happy with it. l went mini monovision where one eye distance and other eye slightly near which means l have both good distance and reading except for tiny print l need glasses. It did take a couple of months for the brain to adjust to the minimonivision but glad l did go that way, the only negative is sometimes when l walk underneath a light globe l get a light flicking for a second, it was a bit annoying at first but now used to it

@@johnschannel449 Hi John. Did you experience doubling with letters? I see everything with a shadow behind, but especially bad are digital screens. Do you see your fingernails sharp at all? I can not see sharp at all , no matter how far away I move my hands. Can not see my face good enough to apply makeup. Not happy at all.

I use such lens. I was very dissatisfied with the quality of the lens. I am 40 years I have no complaints against the doctors. For 65+, a good option is possible. But for those who are younger, it is better to install at least Symfony and Synergy. With Eyhance you will suffer greatly with far vision or wear glasses. It's a pity that the lenses are put in actually only once in a lifetime (only in super emergency cases you can change them).

Its interesting that the word "Tecnis" and the sub heading are legible on the slide but the content needs binoculars to read. Whats really interesting is that these eye doctors dont seem to have considered the quality and delivery of their presentation based on the fact that its our ability to see that they rattle on about, as the old saying goes "cant see the wood for the trees" "Let me just compare" That made me laugh outloud!
