Ай бұрынNewJeans’ brand reputation ranking has been steadily dropping this year. For years now, the Korea Brand Reputation Research Institute has been releasing monthly brand reputation rankings for Korean celebrities in different categories. Since NewJeans debuted, they quickly rose in the ranks on multiple brand reputation ranking charts, such as the girl group and singer categories. However, in 2024, the group quickly went downhill in rankings; most recently, they ranked at 23 in June, by far their lowest ranking. Unsurprisingly, this happened around the time Hybe and adore Fued started. There has been plenty of suspicion in the past that the brand reputation ranking charts are basically complete nonsense and heavily biased, and many fans think NewJeans’ drop is a clear indication that it’s true. The issue is that NewJeans had a lot of listeners but not alot of Stans. Like they definitely do have a fandom but a lot of their success came from them having music that was easy to listen to. But since MHJ started dragging so many other groups into this mess fans of certain groups don’t want to listen or support NJWNS anymore. It’s sad but also when you support MHJ publicly multiple times it’s to be expected.

I think people are not aware of how incredibly fast everything goes nowadays, it started with fashion trends and now it's just EVERYTHING. 40 years ago, the trends lasted for YEARS, and it started to become shorter and shorter, to the point that now if some fashion is trendy for more than two months, it's exceptionally popular. Well, the same thing happened with music, and K-pop is not the exception. Now, a group can become massively popular for what, 1 year? Two comebacks? Before another new group from a big company debuts and people have a new toy to entertain themselves with. People can not pretend for New Jeans to just stay at the top of the world forever, casual listeners fade with time, and eventually, only fans will keep supporting every single one of their comebacks and activities, and of course, their brand reputation and overall popularity will start to decay too.

In 2024 blackpink has like 16.9 million+ monthly listeners and Newjeans has like 18 million+ monthly listeners. Hence its proved that they have the most monthly listeners on Spotify as a gg. Well as compared to bts, BTS has like 28 million+ listeners making Newjeans the group with second most monthly listeners. And keep in mind that they are just a 2 year old rookie group. @Bunnies_Community Take it from my perspective, You want to enjoy your idols' music and engage with other fans in the comment section or just in social media but instead of being greeted back with enthusiasm, you see the comment section just flooded in hate and your feed is filled with tons of videos hating and mocking your idols. Even if you try to get away from the general hate media, something new always comes out to tarnish the idols just because someone hated them enough to post mocking or accusatory posts and send death and disband threats. I'm not saying it's all bunnies, but if you look at it objectively, it's just mostly bunnies who flood theri ig, twt, yt and other social media.

Idk if it’s controlled by Hybe but it’s def biased because LSFM has the biggest hate train in kpop due to their Coachella performance and we’re getting called “national embarrassment” by the Korean public but they kept their spot, ILLIT has been involved in numerous scandals since the day the group was put together and were involved with the feud and were getting called “plagiarism group” and kept their spot, Fromis9 hasn’t had a comeback in so long and we’re ranked higher… if that doesn’t prove something is fishy idk what does lol, out of everything that happened recently how can only one group take the fall? 💁♀️

If it was about talent then LSFM and ILLIT wouldn’t be on top either since everyone was calling them talentless(Again, not my personal opinion) NWJNs also has no control over their companies deciding to beef. Overall the feud is the reason people are extra critical on NWJNs with this comeback, their songs performed well, album sales were good for double single albums… and if it’s really about the recent music how come Fromis9 that hasn’t released anything for so long so high above them? It’s definitely not that, it’s because of the scandal/feud they were involved in but when you really think about it, ILLIT and NWJNs were the face of it so how come it only affects the older, more established group and not the total new group without any strong brand reputation in the first place? That’s why I think it’s definitely a biased ranking. There’s no logical way they’d be the only ones to fall so loe after everything Hybe GGs just went through.

@@favour4150Many things affect reputation ranking. In short, the more people talk about you, the higher you rank. There is even a percentage that separates negative and positive opinions. Korean chart also has impact on it. Recently, Fromis9 had a scandal related to the lack of comeback, maybe this influenced their appearance in the ranking. But there are also many 2nd generation idols who still appear in the reputation ranking for example Gdragon or even groups like SNSD, Shinee, BTOB and many others. There are many SM and YG artists who have been in these rankings for years and no one has ever questioned them. It cannot be denied that groups from Hybe are still on people's lips and they're making posts about them even if they're just hating

If rankings were entirely organic I think more than one Hybe group would have fallen too. Due to the live singing backlash and the big feud, ILLIT at least isn’t super popular in Korea so that should have affected their spot. Plus Hybe was hit with so many scandals this year, it’s hard to imagine that it only affects one group. There are probably some organic groups too, for example BTS. It’s most likely a mixture of both. I could just be biased though 🤷♀️

Their new song is not a bop, they released very mid 4 singles this year. But their debut and the initial releases were good fresh music. That's why they charted so well in melon, literally with no promotion they debut. Music is the key here. As long as you release good music you will be relevant otherwise kpop produces hundreds of new music every week, it's hard to maintain your position
