There’s no music player like Nobuyuki Tsujii! His music is pure and always touches all hearts. How can he do it in such a wonderful way is everyone’s guess. Bravo and thank you maestro.
His playing is absolutely astounding - one of the most difficult compositions in piano repertoire and he plays it so beautifully........and he's blind? wow, what an inspiration. I agreer with Van Cliburn - hearing him play is like a divine healing experience!!!
Every time I listen to Nobu performing music on the piano, I am reminded of crystal-clear dewdrops trickling down on green leaves. That is how I 'see' his music. :')

PS. Oh ! Maybe you could help me with this, Shirley-san ? Did you ever catch what was being said between Nobu and Maestro Petrenko at the VERY beginning of the video ? I mean...those few words exchanged there ? Is it Russian ? or English ?? Nobu seemed to have understood what Petrenko-san said so responded to it...

This is a wonder and miracle in the world, incredible. Every time I hear Nobuyuki plays I am able to hear all the notes, while the layering inner voices are still crystal clear yet supporting and complimenting the melody lines. I have heard other performances of Rach3 but had always been confused by all the notes crushing together and could not really felt the piece; Nobuyuki's playing helps me feel the music and understand the piece a lot more now.
How.... How can he play such a technically difficult piece like it's nothing... Along with the maturity and emotion he brings about with every note... All while being BLIND? It's incredulous. I'm awestruck. This man is the definition of prodigy.

I’ve never been too crazy about Rachmaninoff’s piano concertos. They’re interesting and he was a great musician but so many virtuosic passages and so much banging makes his music a little cloying, so to speak. It is definitely a challenge to sit at the piano for hours and days repeating these virtuosic and loud passages over and over (which leaves you mentally and physically exhausted) to learn and memorize this popular piano concerto. Now being able to play it in public with an orchestra is even more challenging. But to be able to play it in public, with an orchestra, without being able to see (completely blind), and to play it with practically no wrong notes and in a way that’s very interesting to listen to, that’s quite an event…It is, without a doubt, a humbling experience… Nobuyuki Tsujii is simply an amazing musician… Bravo Nobuyuki!!!!🎩 🌹
この曲は中村紘子さんの演奏で初めて聴きました。モーツァルトやショパンに比べると、ラフマニノフの曲は印象が薄い気もしますが、この長い長い壮大な物語の曲を弾くには相当の技量と度量が必要です。Bravo !! Nobu, I'm always with you.

Harmony is everything in orchestra. This might be the most beautiful Concerto No.3 I have ever heard. Every delicate fine tone in every part of Concerto leads me to an epic story.
What a brilliant performance by Nobuyuki Tsujii and Liverpool Phil. Nobu's interpretation of this piece is more than superb and there are so many reasons why there are posts here indicating God given talent and all that. It is simply astonishing. Nobuyuki never makes his performance of any piece all about himself. There is always some what very subtle under tone in his performance in which we can catch that he holds so much admiration of the composers in such humble manners. In every recital or concerto of Nobuyuki leads you to the open door to to your mind to think and feel about the composer. You hear not only hear Nobuyuki's brilliant performance but the insights of the composers of every piece he plays. That quality must only come from his own deep appreciation of the music.
I have listened to dozens of other pianists play Rachmaninoff's 3rd Piano Concerto, yet this is the most outstanding of any. Nouyuki Tsujii's performance isdynamic, yet sublime, chiffon and steel; just truly incredible. He elicits the soul of Rachmaninoff in his interpretation here. All in all, his playing is rhapsodic.

His playing transcends mere words. His mastery of one of the most challenging pieces in the piano repertoire is quite simply brilliant. In September, I’m going to the Royal Albert Hall in London to hear him play this piece. Watch this space!!

First off, thanks to newjeb for posting this. Ive just returned from the full performance. Yes, I cried.No, not because Mr Tsujii is blind. Because it's Rachmaninoff, beautifully played by both pianist and orchestra. It just so happens this pianist is blind. What he has accomplished is brilliant beyond words. The orchestra's attention was palpable, perhaps know what an accomplishment they were about achieve. So many special moments. One in particular is the 1st 1/3 of the cadenza. I've never heard the left hand so pointedly rhythmic, the bass notes landed "just so." Hard to explain, but wonderful. As a producer/engineer, as well as songwriter I was heartened to see mics like the Neumann M49 (or maybe M50) included amongst the array...just stuff like that adding to the sonic splendor. Finally, no commercial interruptions. Overall, this a noble, yet exciting performance, highly recommended..and YES, Mr Tsujii may just be the 8th wonder of the world.

To play the way he does being blind is of itself a miracle. I admire him immensely especially since suspect that he has another physical problem that he has mastered. I also admire his parents, wthout their help and support he wouldn´t be the marvel he is. I listen to him play most every day
@kevinsatizabal12866 жыл бұрын
Dialma M Smith it’s no miracle. He is an amazing player in his own right. Being blind has very little bearing on the fact that that he can play so well. Think about it? How many cited pianists have you seen play with their eyes closed? Most pieces you have to jump around so much and are difficult to play, you have no time to rely on site to be able to guide those jumps.
@mlliu20066 жыл бұрын
Nobuyuki Tsujii is completely blind. He does not have "another physical problem" such as autism or down's syndrome as you hinted. I have met him in person many times. Yes, his parents are exceptional also. Among other things, they did not attempt to correct his blindism (such as rocking his body) so as not to inhibit his creativity.
