The carbon tax is all bad. I own a small business involved in manufacturing for our construction and building industry, and pay over $2000 a year for a carbon tax on natural gas use. There is no alternative. To switch to electric heat would cost over $250,000 to do the switch and electricity is nearly 5X as expensive as natural gas. Customers cannot afford price increases. And many other business owners have worked to lower costs of materials and services with building. This government is completely out of touch with what we need and it's time for them to go!

You think failing to conserve a safe climate is going to work out well for affordability? The world's largest accounting firm KPMG stated that in 2023 - 60% of small & medium sized businesses in Canada reported being impacted by record wildfires, damaging storms, floods, and heat domes - with 51% experiencing increased operating costs as a result - and 44% reporting a direct loss of revenue. The GDP costs of climate change by 2030 are projected to be $35 billion, and by 2055 to be $80 - $103 billion. When will Conservatives acknowledge that climate change is increasing costs and causing hardship for Canadians? Ever?

@@saltpeter500 LMAO I have a small business (small business is around 96% of all business in Canada) that's forced to pay over $2000 a year in carbon tax because I provide heat in the winter and spring to my employees and manufactured goods. I'm told electricty is the alternative I'm supposed to switch to because "carbon is BAD!!" Well I got a quote to switch my warehouse to electric heat $250,000 and electricity is 5X the cost of natural gas this is the story for probably every single place you shop at. So if you think the government stealing others money and giving you a $100 is making you get ahead in life I'm sorry to be the one to tell you but you've been tricked.

Vassy: Isn't it refreshing to interview a minister who actually is knowledgeable, attempts to respond to your actual questions and is a proven leader? He was a star minister of education...almost all Ontario parents loved his words and actions, unlike the teachers and unions who continue to whine about their poor working conditions(funny that most are on the sunshine list!)

I know of a low income welfare recipient who drives a gas guzzling car but got a carbon tax rebate. I also know of a high income family who dive EVs and use electric heating but got no carbon tax rebate. I know that Canada's carbon tax DOES NOT STOP FOREST FIRES OR EXTREME WEATHER EVENTS. So I know which party I will vote for in the next federal election.
