Thanks so much for sharing this information. You are right it is scary when you first get the news that you have HCM. In my case I have several doctors that are not certain that that’s what it is. Which is frustrating since they’re supposed to be the experts. So I’m choosing to take a deep breath and remind myself I’m not a teenager anymore and to try and get information and move forward in the right way and hopefully I’m doing the right things. Wonderful Lisa! Excellent video and information. I have one question regarding my son Brian that died from HCM in 2007, why did he never have any symptons at all, I have worked at a hospital for 27 years and also worked at a pediatrician's practice so I would have seen SOMETHING because I ALWAYS gave full attention to my 5 children medically.

@TheBunting40 Hi, and first of all I am sorry to hear you lost your son to this disease. Maybe I can help in answering you question. I have HCM and was diagnosed with it when I was 22( I am now 37). I found out by chance, by the way of a routine medical ECG for a new job. I never showed any obvious symptoms at all, I used to get short of breath on exertion but thought it was natural. This is why it is so hard to diagnose and we need to raise awareness of this silent killer. Hope this helps.

I have ME/CFS and just recently I’ve been experiencing shortness of breath type two diabetes chest pains and extremely exhausted also dizziness and headaches and nausea could HCM also be connected with ME/CFS
