This was an excellent talk but what it proves is the harm of VC2 to the church which is now more divided, irrelevant to most, has solved none of the issues of the contemporary world either in the 1960s or now. It has become just another social welfare organisation lead now by a weak, wishywashy leader who is utterly unimportant to the church let alone the world. VC2 has not even been able to see the church resolve the issue of voluntary clerical celibacy let alone all the massive sexual-social issues which have arisen in the intervening period. It has continued to focus on one form of living and that is a man and woman married with children. If you don’t conform to that model the church considers you less than complete in the way it teaches and preaches. John Paul II and Benedict XVI provided leadership and hope the current encumbent offers nothing to anyone, the world, the church, liberals or conservatives.
