The motor is connected directly to the rudder system. There are slots on both sides of the top disk. I ran 550 chord through those holes and secured the cord to the slots on the motor brackets. I zipped tied the chords to the motor mount to keep them secure. Once everything was connected I checked the alignment made any adjustments required and tied everything together. Works really good.

There was a lot of weeds on the motor it was not very deep so keep getting snagged on weeds 😊definitely slowed me down quiet a bit.

Hey Randy, I’ve got the same kayak. Which motor is your preferred motor? The NK 180 or the NK 300? Thanks!

The nk300 is very powerful will require a steering upgrade the 180 is plenty but requires more battery

Does the motor bracket line up with the bolts on the outback ?

You will need to get the Hobie mounting hardware the ones it comes with are to big

Whats the top speed with that setup?

22 mph if I was able to electric trim the motor would be 3-5 mph faster
