19:47 Yes, Gary Chalk voiced Optimus Primal in Beast Wars, but the footage used is from Rise of the Beasts, where the character is voiced by Ron Perlman. We should also not discredit Garry Chalk's work as Optimus Prime throughout the Unicron Trilogy

The rubber suits line is a reference to when Toho used rubber suits to create Godzilla that always changed depending on the film Toho produced in the different Eras of each movie, this was years and decades before Godzilla was created by animators

Operation Lucky Dragon is a reference as well. Hiroshima and Nagasaki weren't the only inspirations behind Godziilla. There was a third bomb drop later on during testing that had some unfortunate victims on a fishing boat. That boat's name was....the Lucky Dragon #5.

39:39 Edwards not the name of the plane, but it's indicating which base it came from. All USAF planes have some signifier on the tail indicating which base it's out of, and this particular plane spells out the name of the base.

Desplat's compositions adapt several of Akira Ikufube's leitmotifs and themes from the 1954 Godzilla. Included in the orchestration are several traditional Japanese musical instruments. The flute like Shakuhachi & Shinobue, and stringed instruments like Biwa & Koto.

4:07 actually that’s Perseus fighting Cetus, not Heracles. Heracles was born 4 generations after him, making Perseus Heracles’ great great grandfather. Also Heracles fought the hydra, geryon, orthus, the Cretan bull, the Hesperides dragon (not really), famously the nemean lion, and the gigantes alongside the olympians.

Some answers for the Hawai’i scenes (since I live there): There wasn’t a tram system leading into the airport at the time this movie was filmed. However a track has been constructed since then, BUT that part of the line is not operational yet. The street that gets flooded by the wave is Lewers Street & there is NO direct access to the beach at the end of that road. The shot was staged in the early evening, & filmed in the late hours. The suggested path of the MUTO from the forest area on O’ahu to the airport crosses the most densely populated area of the island. Iguanas are not easily found on the island (if at all), & they are considered illegal. Jackson Chameleons (as many have pointed out, is the actual animal in the shot) have thriving populations in the wild especially in rain forest areas on the island.

Who else wants Legendary to eventually introduce the Monster-Multiverse by confirming that the 1998 Godzilla film takes place in the same universe as Peter Jackson's 2005 King Kong film. Imagine seeing these two versions of Godzilla and Kong fighting it out 😅

Problem: Jackson's Kong was 25 feet tall. Godzilla 98 was 196 feet tall. You'd have to size that Kong up seven times to make it fair.

@25Erix not really, I would love to see a 25 ft Kong swinging, punching and jumping all over a tall, lanky Godzilla. You could also make Kong a bit bigger like 30 or 35 ft. then make Godzilla a bit smaller (because this Godzilla is the offspring of the one that died in that movie).

@@breyten_paleoman Zilla still has the size and strength advantage. There is no universe where a 25-foot-tall gorilla is defeating something seven times its size. Especially when said lizard is able to open his mouth wider than that version of Kong can. Stop trying to make it work because unless you size Kong up, he's hopelessly and hilariously outmatched in this scenario. Doubly so if you put him against Junior from the animated series because, unlike his father, Junior has an atomic breath.

@25Erix in what universe does a 25ft gorilla exist in the first place... You could give Kong unnatural strength and maybe later on in the crossover film some electric powers to even the power difference. Also I wouldn't use Junior from the animated series specifically but I would use him as a model for the newer Godzilla. Also I was on the other side of the argument when the made Kong the same height as Godzilla in GvK. I really want to see a smaller gorilla swing from dorsal fin to dorsal fin, jump and right hook a giant lizard. Using buildings a cover, hiding inside building s then breaking out to surprise Godzilla. I think it could be cool but would never happen.
