Who needs real friends when I can just proxy them?

cEDH is mostly proxy-friendly in my area, with a lot of places allowing a maximum of 10 proxies for big tournaments. My LGS has no limit on proxies for its bi-weekly cEDH event, which is free and offers $100 in-store credit as a prize. I've played both with and without proxies, and there are definitely mixed opinions on the proxy rules. Personally, I limit myself to only 10 proxies, but I've played in tournaments where some decks are almost 100% proxied. Here's my perspective: I wouldn't say I like it when people proxy 100% of their deck. However, I want to play the best decks to prepare for the bigger tournaments that have a 10-proxy limit. I'm slowly buying the cards I have proxied so I can eventually play at stores that have a zero-proxy rule. I know some of the players, and the reality is that only a handful have 100% cEDH decks because of the cost.

Have seen this topic so much it hurts, its kind of a rule zero conversation, in my local play group we had this exact thing happen, scum bag put together a nearly all proxy card deck and proceeded to stomp us over and over, so we just straight banned any proxy cards you don't own an original of, solved the problem immediately. now to be fair most of our decks don't breach the $100 range often and are built for fun.

I buy high-quality proxies for things I own but want multiple copies of. It's pretty cool, the back of the card is blank to really drive home that they arent REAL cards( i assume for copyright, trade and sale reasons ). So I'm obviously good with proxies, but for an event with prizes and such, I wouldn't use them. That's just me though.

I have one full proxy deck but it's persistent pert where i play 5 actual copies of the card and 70 proxies of it. The deck is a fun little thing where i play just lands, 75perts, and a thrumming stone. But perts are a $2 common and spending that much for a joke deck is a little too much.

This is me. Turned out proxies ARE banned. Also, the player ended up in the negative for points because there are penalties for stuff like multi turns etc.

I feel like every post I see about proxies, proxies are never the issue, pubstomping is. And it seems like attaching a prize pool to a casual format is a magnet for pubstomping. The problem would be the same here if instead of proxies, it was a millionaire's kid who bought a $10,000 deck off cardkingdom.

Typical cedh player mentality ngl. I've met a lot of local players who hate proxies. Some lgs do "deck checks" and if you have proxies you're asked to take them off or leave the store. This is how every cedh player I have met is like. Which is why I hate cedh and think it ruins the heart of commander.

By the rules of the game proxies are inherently cheating they are counterfeit cards so this person by definition is cheating
