Disney wouldn’t ruin the muppets then if he lived longer

@@SuperMarioAaron64 Actually, Jim was going to form a partnership with Disney regardless (although with Jim being alive at the time, I feel he would've had more creative control, with Disney needing his approval before they did anything with the Muppets.) In fact, Disney planned a "Muppets Takeover" event where for a whole year, the Muppets were to take over Disneyland and make it "MuppetLand" But Jim's death led to this publicity stunt being cancelled, and the Disney/Mupper merger being scrapped until Disney bought the Muppets years later.

Pneumonia really is no joke, I had it for the very first time this past fall and I’m 31. At first they thought I just had bronchitis, but discovered it was actually pneumonia while listening to my chest. Luckily it was still in the very early stages so it was more or less like walking pneumonia I had, but I still felt really sick with it. So glad I got on the antibiotic when I did, felt a lot better within a day or two. Anytime myself or a loved one of mine gets sick like this, I always think of Jim Henson’s story which encourages me to seek medical care right away. Maybe Henson’s story was left as a little reminder to all of us to please remember to take care of ourselves when we fall ill, or it can have tragic consequences unfortunately. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Wrong stuff here! Corrects errors: 1; The reporter are talking about Jim’s wife, but footage of Jim’s daugther is shown (at 1:43). And 2; The reporter mentions Miss Piggy as a Muppet cast of Sesame Street (at 2:46). That’s wrong, Miss Piggy was never on Sesame Street. That was The Muppet Show.

Jim unfortunately was a severe workaholic, a trait that many of his closest friends always were cautious of. Jim never looked like he took a break, even when he went on vacation. Jim always had his mind around him that he never once thought to think about himself. Wasn't the first time Jim felt heavily fatigued so he assume it was just another one of those. It really sad that Jim never once thought to put his own health first over his creative imagination but that usually is the consequence of many workaholics who have a vision.

As much as it sucks that Jim had to die so young, I think it stings even harder that these reports associated him predominantly with Sesame Street, knowing that he spent the last 20 years of his life trying to shake off the reputation as a children’s performer that the show gave him. Even when Kermit gets mentioned in them, it’s usually in some form of context regarding Sesame Street. And I like Sesame Street, don’t get me wrong, I respect the hell out of it. But it’s horrible to me that all his efforts that included The Muppet Show, The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, etc became all for nothing in the long run - with a lot of the media continuing to hyperfocus on him supposedly being just “The Sesame Street guy” while paying only the briefest of lip service to literally anything else

In this video, there is a news report that states he had gone to a doctor a week prior to his death. The doctor did not find anything concerning. It also states he had been healthy prior to that. There is another report in this video that address the Christian Science rumor. I have not followed the story so I'm sure more information has come to light over the past 30 years that may dispute that but, in the end, all we know for sure is a creative talent left too soon.

dvdmc7 I heard people say due to his Christin Science he didn’t want to seek help, but when it was to late he decided to go to the doctors. The doctors couldn’t do anything to help it was too late, the pneumonia toxins spread through his body I believe. I’m not 100% sure if that’s right, but that’s what I’ve seen people saying.
@mikshinee873 жыл бұрын
Well, I'm sure you know many people who are reluctant to go to the doctor even when they're not feeling well. Men especially are raised in a belief that they should ignore pain which is why many more men die from cancer than women. Jim Henson never practised Christian Science even though his parents were of this faith. Perhaps he though he will recover from it himself. So many people died this year believing the same thing. Also, the incompetent GP cannot be ignored, not recognising the flu.
